      When you have 500,000 move to your city in 10 years- do you expect them to live under bridges?

    • @MariaMartinez-researcher
      @MariaMartinez-researcher 12 дней назад +14

      Please notice, the footage did not show heavily urbanized terrains. Those are suburban towns, full of gardens, surrounded by wilderness.
      That's not Houston. Also, you can see most of the terrain is flat and lacking bridges, so, they were not on the route of a river.
      Please notice that the cause of the flooding is unusually large storms and rainfalls, that locals say they have never seen anything like that, and weather forecasts say the situation is likely to worsen at the level of several states.
      Please, stop blaming the victims.

    Prayers do nothing. Nothing. You have to take precautions, and be aware of the dangers of floodplains and rivers deltas. States have to recognize the dangers that are coming, be prepared, and allocate resources. Because of global warming, and the utter collapse of sea ice, the arctic jet stream has become wild and unpredictable. Warming oceans are also changing the weather patterns, and increasing the intensity of severe weather. Being a year that is post-el nino, this is likely going to be a particularly bad year. The Caribbean is already at the temperature it normally is in June.

    a flooding rain, and hailstones shall fall with destructive wrath. I will tear down the wall of whitewash
    and level it to the ground, laying bare its foundations. When it falls you shall be crushed beneath it:
    Thus you shall know I Am the Lord." Watch and Pray.

    The city, along with the concrete sprawl and crappy drainage still shouldn't be getting hit so frequently with these big floods. This one was only two feet. That's almost half the typical yearly total-when it doesn't have a tropical storm or hurricane. Some of the developers should pay to reimburse imo. Overall people need to stop building in swamps, deserts and dry forests to be one with nature. Nature always chews them up sooner or later
