- The S2000 had a supercharger already installed, The customer wasn't satisfied and the car never felt right.
He decided to make the trek all the way from Alabama down to us in Florida as he's heard and watched out videos.
You'll in the video a handful of issues we found , plus the little extra things we do to make our kits perfect.
We also installed some Buddy Club coilovers and improved the ride and handling. Авто/Мото
This video should be your brand statement for exactly how are shop should operate. I like to say that you cannot appreciate a sunny day without a few rainy days... but man you guys really care; that cannot be said enough times! Love how much you do to make things right.
I need to find a place like this in NYC for my 9th gen.
I’ll replay these videos over n over
Another lucky S2000 gets some extra special LHT love. Nice!
So nice to see a shop that really puts extra effort and care into making things right! Great job guys!
Your team make me wanna get a S2K! I’m loving the quality work and care that goes into each vehicle. It’s shows that you’re a genuine car guy. Thanks for the content, and keep up the good work.
Wow that color is beautiful ! Great work as always!
Laguna Blue Pearl
I always learn something new on every vid , thanks LHT
You are the best installer / tuner I’ve seen in my life. You treat each car like it’s your own.
Always admired you guys work 👍
I must say, from a Honda owner that I like the work well done, I admire your work and your level of detail and effort to doit the right way.... hat down to you and your team.... respect (by the way I love all the details you give on each video.... love to hear your advices)
Alex Matos Thanks so much. I appreciate you taking time to comment too
Great job! I live in the Midwest and if I ever supercharge my S2k.... I’m coming to you guys!!!
Hey John. Love the video as always, buddy. You guys never cease to impress with the amount of care you put into these customers' cars. Absolutely Fantastic! On a less serious note, I don't think what happened just after 20:29 could have been more perfectly timed. hahaha!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, guys!
Such great work LHT... setting the standard!
I love your videos so relaxing to watch
You guys do amazing work! Wish guys like you were in Canada for the S2k community!
S2K alterations are your guy's specialty. Thanks again. My S2K thanks you too!
Amazing work as usual
Cant wait to bring mine over to you guys with the hks SC!
Wow that was some shoddy work. I'm sure the owner didn't even know the extent of what was done wrong. Great work guys! Sometime in the future I'm buying an S2000 and sending it directly to you guys.
5:00 i've changed mine recently, your video helped me a lot
Nice works guys!
Awesome work LHT.
Saving up to come see y’all for my 06 ✌️
Really nice to see you were able to replace the OEM plastic covers. My bumper/radiator air flow guide was removed (per instructions) of my Supercharger a few years ago and it's always bugged me. I've got a CR-Z--not the S2k--but now you've got me running out to the garage late at night to see if I still have that air guide, and devising a way to make it fit....
I swear I've seen this car in another video getting this kit put on. It was blue like this one and even the filter placement was the same. I watch them remove the plastics.
It's nice to see a shop that cares about their work. I do my own maintenance mostly. But if I have to take my car somewhere, I HOPE THE SHOP TREATS ME THE SAME WAY YOU GUYS TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
Pre refresh dyno and after refresh dump would have been nice to see. Oh well always nice to watch your work.
salahs reborn world The car didn’t want to rev past 6500 rpm. I wouldn’t want run the car in such a state. This wasn’t about peak HP.
I trust very few people to work on my vehicles but I would be honored to have you and George work on my truck. You two are terrific and I mean it. We must include the lovely Esther too.keep that outstanding attitude please.😊😊😊👏🏽👌🏾👍🏽
Robert Jordan That’s a huge compliment. Thanks.
I love watching your work
You guys kick butt, keep it up!
wow you guys do some awsome work!! need a shop like this in Australia =D
This how you build a great reputation on service.Well done guys
Another one 👌🏻 that’s how it should look👌🏻 that customer is going to be blown away haha!
Great work, I really like what I see.
Great! Thanks for watching
You all have earned it,thank you.
Great videos . I have a 2003 S2000 AP1 motor with 46k original. My son goes to U of Tampa and has been telling me about your channel. I will get down there at some point and pay you a visit. Thanks for the great videos.
dirtydelta7 For sure. Give us a buzz when you’re heading over
Don’t live in the US i don’t own a Honda but i recognise a great garage and proper customer service top notch
I love your guys work. I wish I was still in fl, I just finish my k24 swap ep3 an can’t find a tuner here
If I had a Honda (...or WHEN I get a Honda) I would absolutely take it to these guys: Their attention to detail is matched only by my own.
Haha seeing this video brings back so many fond memories of my kraftwerks install... 😂Had to install longer stud for the lower 15mm bolt. Had to buy longer upper mount Allen bolts 5mm longer because mine kept backing out even with red locktite. Took forever and a bit of trimming to get my IC piping routed. Doesn’t look as clean as LHT routing. Don’t know how they do it. My hoses were all too long so had to trim so it wasn’t a snakey mess. To top it off, my BOV froze up after one day of driving. Ended up taking apart and refinishing the piston and the cylinder with a Brillo pad. All in all it has not been the best experience. There are many tips and tricks you need to know to properly install this kit. I wouldn’t recommending doing the install yourself. If I could do it over, would have just taken it to LHT 3 hours down the road.
I wish I wasn't SO far from you....! There is a reverence that you guys exude for the Honda engineering mantra. It isn't just another tune-job! You guys seem to "get it"! Dang....421-270....are you sh___ing me!?!?! What is just as amazing is how CLEAN you guys are. It almost looks factory. Hats off to you gentleman and thank you for sharing.
I continue to fight that inner fight - keeping my S stock. That said, if I go to the "dark side", you are it!
Have you ever thought of getting a video clip of the customer's face expression after they pick up their vehicle and get a ride along?? Would love to see how they would react to the modifications done...
It's like Love island basically
It’s amazing how clean these cars are when you first get them.
Alabama Nice n warm like fla.
Where I’m from not so much.
We have to rust proof everything
Even if you don’t drive in the winter.
Salt residue gets all over.
And dirt sticks to the rustproofing.
It’s sad.
You knew that little clip was in the box already ;)
Awesome work guys another reason to not go to shady shops
Unbelievable to see shops with such poor work ethic. Sad that this customer paid for that level of work. Thank you LHT for what you do!
Ozzie Perez - Hands down; LHT simply is the best. Doesn’t mean the orher shop didn’t put in an “honest” effort.
Agree, it does not help the customer though to be a 'learning experience' for a shop. If a shop wants to build up knowledge they should do so on a shop car not waste a customers time and money unless the work is done for 'mates rates'. Anyhow, love what LHT do and again, jelous to not have access to them being outside US.
It is sad. And the clowns who did this probably brag about how great they are.
Bjorn Muskus it’s exactly what it means.
It’s clowns like these ones that give mechs a bad name. Same as Reno contractors
They’re lazy morons
one word ! SUPERB !
Looks great
love the s2000
I bet that customer didn't check to see if that previous shop was a "kraftwerks" authorized installer.🤔
Also a paint correction on that blue would pop.... great job LHT!
Do y’all recommend using the Kpro or AEM with this kit? Another great video!
This video was perfect.
I'm amazed at the low level of QC some shops have and can't believe this left a shop in such poor condition. Thank the good Lord they made it to LHT for S2K resurrection.
Can't wait for you guys to get to this part on my car .... by the way John I ended up buying a second s2000
What’s better than an S2000 …. 2 of them 😜
@LHTPerformance I'll be back soon sir
Another Clean Job by LHT
Kick ass work
You are the best !
Very nice
Great job cleaning up that engine compartment and shade tree install. Do you ever move the battery to the trunk to make more room under the hood and restore the front/rear balance when adding a supercharger or an LS engine?
Up selling!
Problem wasn't the clutch, it is the slave cylinder ball I forms a hook over time.
I live in hawaii and I watch your videos all the time I like your excellent work . I wish you guy were out here in hawaii because this place sucks for tuning cars or getting work done on your custom built car hawaii is lacking perfectionist like you guys if you have any selections on were I could take my car over here I would be greatly appreciative for any advice or recommendations for tuners and mechanics in hawaii .thanks again and keep up your excellence. Aloha
Thanks for the kind words. The red Integra we built live in Hawaii. I don’t know of any tuners there. Sorry. I wish I did
Whatever shop modge podged that kit together on that poor car is just trash. Bunch of nugits. As an aircraft mechanic, I appreciate a shop that cares and puts in the effort with the little details. Great job!
I need to bring my Rsx Type-s to you guys for a custom blower setup.
Respect i like to see !
Feel like I want to ship my car from the Uk to you for a full build 😎👍🇬🇧
Have been truly enjoying the videos on the S2ks and Civic Si's. Having said that something still didn't sound right with this engine. At first start up and idle it has a high pitch. I'm no mechanic, just my thoughts.
@LHTPerformance , where do you typically install your O2 Wideband Bungs? on the Header, or high flow cat/test pipe?
Out of interest you said about the DC sports manifold being too small, do you find that on supercharged applications upgrading from OEM is worth while? Being right hand drive its abit of a struggle to find a decent manifold that clears the steering rack. Oh and great video as per usual. I ran into an issue with the bypass valve on my HKS kit which is so undersized it struggled to dump the pressure. Looks like the kraftswerk one is of a decent size.
Can confirm steering rack clearance is an issue on RHD with some hearders. I brought a J's header new ex Japan and we had to hammer it slightly get at least 1 inch clearance to the steering column (for safety reasons)
Hi John, with regards to the pilot bearing, what are some signs/sounds/symptoms of a bad pilot bearing?
Would you be willing to install a clutch on a 350z? I am in orlando and you guys have the best quality of work that I have seen.
Thank you!
Z33 Garage We don’t offer mechanical work on anything other than Honda’s. Sorry.
@@LHTPerformance thank you for the reply! Keep up the great work!!
I work like you fellows. If you are going to take the time to do the job, then take the time to do it correctly.
You put the clamps on in opposite directions so they work against each other to keep them in place. The guy was either in the Navy/Coast Guard or he is a sailboat person.
I always wondered where the dyno is. It seems like it might be next door in a separate unit.
Just have a random question on the kraftwerk kit. Since you are a master with it. Is it carb approved for California? Thank you..
great job as usual! I don’t like battery ;-)
I have the same seuspension, what setting did you set the damper stiffness front and back at ? Thanks
What engine management was used to tune this car thanks in advance for your answer
15:00 u can see how much pounds of pressure he uses to take off I wonder how much hell use to torque them down
Would you guys install an air suspension system?? If the client provided.
What did the manufacturer said about the worn blow off valve ?
Damn I'm missing all my plastics too
Amazing, almost the game of 7 mistakes.
By-the-eye it looked OK.
For the air intake, can you make a small air box and cut a hole on the side wall and get air from the wheel area?
Dom Degood Yes, we could build something along those lines.
Wish you would have done a dyno run of before and after of the little changes and how much difference certain things can change performance of a kit
It wasn't about 'Peak power' , That wasn't the concern.
@@LHTPerformance meaning how much the lht touches can do to make a kit do what its ment to do i know you guys are the best around.
my s2000 makes a transmission clunk, replaced all motor mounts propeller shaft and clutch idk what it might be ! this clunk only happens in 1st gear or reverse gear when I let go of the clutch pedal . Do you know what it might be ? i heard its common and normal among ap1
Is there a way to run a radiator with hose on opposite side and run intake lower?
A question as to why you replaced the timing chain tensioner with an OEM one? The failure rate of the OEM almost guaranteed at some point in the next couple years if he daily drives it. Why not replace with one of the aftermarket ones available?
David Crandon I’ve replaced many OEM tensioners. People hate to hear it, but if you change you oil regularly they have no issues at all. I’ve been working on S2000s since they came out in 99 and have plenty of real hands on with them. I don’t make money on them so I have to loose by giving the truth.
How much would it be to rebuild an Rsx type s transmission
Would have loved to see a dyno graph from when it was dropped off, did you happen to do one?
Mike p No. it ran awful, I didn’t want to risk causing damage
All of the things you mentioned -- the long hose, the clamps facing the wrong way, the broken boot ring etc drive me nuts. So many people don't value addressing the details the right way.
Would be awesome if you guys commissioned Kooks to build you custom LHT-spec S2000 headers.
Why bother? Waste fo money having custom made headers when there's already something good off the shelf.
Well that's the thing, I'm not too fond of Skunk2 parts. I've heard about bad experiences with them. And I didn't mean a 1-off header, more like 20-30 of them to sell to S2000 customers. Oh, there's a reason people call them "Junk2".
At 18:10 you realize you're going to have to replace the timing chain tensioner. Was that an "Oh shit, I should have replaced that while we were in there!" moment? Could you have heard that noise originally? Don't mean to criticize. It's obvious you guys do great work and your attention to detail is on point. BUT, didn't you just add 3-4 hrs labor $$ to go back in and replace? Love this video and showing 'real world' shit that happens to even the best.
BJK1715 The car made a lot of different noises when it came in. The timing chain tensioner is very easy on an S2000 and gives noise well before it would ever fail. It was something that was more noticeable after doing the other things. Same as the bypass valve that didn’t work.
Question why would you use the screen on the old pump "that's probably the original to the car and why the clip was missing" instead of using the new screen and clip? Is it possible that there was a problem with that screen and that be the reason the clip fell off in the tank. If it did.
Honda Guy The screen was a new one supplied with the pump. It was a couple of months old at best. The clip something most installers have trouble with. Worst case, if it fell off in the tank it won’t hurt anything.
Can someone with experience tell me what a supercharger setup like this would cost all-in? Seriously considering one
John, do you guys use the throw out bearing that comes with the fx300 kit? Or are you sourcing another throw out bearing? I though clutch masters used OEM parts in there kit. Thanks.
leov36 No. I mention this every video. The OEM bearing by Nachi comes in our kit.
leov36 by default, the knock off bearing comes in the kit. LHT somehow gets the nachi in theirs. Prob because they order a lot and have arrangement with clutchmasters
14:54 that's an aftermarket belt. Honda doesn't use Dayco belts.
Chris Atkinson Honda doesn’t use superchargers either 😉
wow your boi found herb light it up :) 7:54
#LHTLOVE
Is there a better/newer rotrex head for Kraftwerks ?
Never seen a blow off valve that scored up looks like something got sucked in.
John... What is the most common issue after someone gets a KW supercharger on their s2000? I'm on the s2000 facebook KW supercharger group page and they all complain about belt breaking all the time. I'm not sure if they are installing it incorrectly or you guys do a superior job of installing everything.
DammitDan Dammit that’s a tough question Dan....lol
The few issues that people have are in most cases ‘ install error’. We put on 25+ kits with the 20mm belt and had very few issues. Since kit #30, all our kits come standard with a 30mm belt. The belt is a cogged belt, it need very little tension. In fact, it needs just enough tension not to produce too much noise. That’s it. There’s a few other improvements we make including some we mentioned in the video. I’ve used the reference, ‘Coka-cola’ in past videos, we have found many little tricks and ways to improve an already awesome kit.
Thank you for explanation!
