Jane in episode 4 said when things start heading south don't let them drag you down with them. In ep.5 she is the one who wants to go back south. She was dragging other people down with her. Her actions did not match with her words.
Jane was a broken person and she was trying to convince Clem that Kenny is crazy. She was very impulsive and unstable and that is why she had lost control over her own knife and died in a fight which she provoked. Only a blind person envies and hates an one-eyed person.

Excellent points. As you say Jane was broken but she didn't see how her actions would break others and make them like her. In my mind there was only one outcome in the end

    Jane
    - knew her for like 2 episodes
    - is pretty much a Molly clone gone wrong
    - Barely any personality: stoic as hell
    - oof'd herself by hanging because she was pregnant
    - looks ugly in season 3
    - SHOT TROY IN THE BALLS NOT COOL AT ALL I FELT THAT (even tho Troy was a Dick head like Larry he was kinda funny)
    - left Sarah and her sister to "oof" like a coward
    KENNY
    - was Lee's most loyal friend
    - Was a good father and husband
    - protected his family (like fighting Larry who's twice his size)
    - looked out for clementine in season 2 and 3 (Lee would be proud)
    - MOUSTACHE
    - BEARD
    - BOAT GOD
    - "sacrificed" himself for Ben/Christa fought a horde and survived
    - Based Carvers face in like a badass (practicality avenged Walter and Alvin)
    - Sadly oof'd to a car crash from being crippled but still kind of sacrificed himself by telling clem to leave him
    - offered to give Clem and AJ to be in Wellington for their safety even tho he could possibly "oof" (I believe he lived but his fate is unknown)
    - known him since episode 1
    - tried to save ben even tho it was imposter

I completely agree with you. Jane is a generic, manipulative, hypocritical sociopath.
My Clementine tried as hard as she could to save Sarah (fun fact: she was my favorite S2 character) in my playthrough, but Jane just couldn't care less about what happened to her. But when she finally got her killed by making Luke's group vulnerable to an incoming herd by distracting him with sex at the observation deck, even after I told her to go down there and help her, deep down, she still didn't really care. She only went down there because Clem wanted her to, and she never even admitted herself she had something to do with her death. That was when I started 55% disliking her.
But when she put AJ in danger leaving him in the cold in a frozen car, where he could possibly freeze to death and/or be found by walkers, in an attempt to get Kenny killed, and possibly committed suicide in season 3, even after promising Clem she'd never leave her again, I finally decided that I 100% despised her. Say what you want about Kenny, but he at least genuine good reasons for the stuff he does, or at least apologized and/or makes up for it.

Very well said and great points you made. I have never hid the fact with anyone how I think Kenny is. Yes he is violent, yes he never minds killing and he dislikes just about everyone that's left alive on the planet but in the end all I need to care about is how he feels about Clem and AJ and with those two he will die for them and in the world they are trying to survive in, loyalty like that is worth more than anything.
Jane started to tick my "This person is bad news" box not long after I first saw her. With each thing she said or did, each action that showed she had no care of consequences outside of what she wanted, I knew she was going to be real trouble. She had every intention of not stopping until Kenny was dead and for what? because she didn't like him. She couldn't manipulate him and he was a strength to Clem she had to get rid of. Then as you say with the leaving AJ in the car just to send Kenny into a rage thinking AJ was dead, I knew at that second Jane could not be left alive.
Thank you for your reply =o)

I saw some guy make a half an hour video on how Kenny is an abusive stepfather and it just pissed me off. This man lost all his family and Clementine is all he has, so Jane decides to remind him of everyone he's lost and lie about losing a baby he cared for. What do you thinks gonna happen. He was a man beyond his breaking point but at the end of the day he still cared, Jane on the other hand would most likely throw Clem in to a horde of walkers to save herself, and when Clem needs her the most she kills herself. At least Kenny went down protecting her and sacrificing herself why'll Jane puts everybody between her and death and then dies in the most selfish way possible. No matter how unstable Kenny is at least he cares for Clementine and AJ.

    • @LordUg

I agree with you. In the end all that matters is that this is a zombie apocalypse and you have to ask who you are safest with. If someone is going to point out how bad a parent someone is. Think of all the totally evil people out there. We see some terrible people in this zombies series and someone is getting caught up on parenting skills? Okay Kenny may not be the most emotionally attached person but he would die for Clem and the baby. They don't need a father they need a protector and Kenny is definitely that. Jane was more evil in her way than Kenny would ever be. You got to sometimes look passed the exterior to see the badness underneath You see what you get with Kenny. His emotions are always laid bare for all to see. Jane was very devious and that kind of person is dangerous. Thank you kindly for your comment =o)

Jane is the real devil for me. She played litereally psycho games with all of them! And used the two children like weapons for her own advantages! Aj she used to provoke kenny and clem she used to make her a killer of kenny. How could people went with jane?? she is the real monster in my eyes. When she wanted to show Clem kennys true face, she actually showed her own true face to clem, not kennys. how ironic. When she said to clem the words " You have to trust me." I was sure that she is a backstabber, a fraudulent sneaky liar and manipulator that can never be trusted! and some people went with her anyway? after all she did and after she treated Aj like a piece of shit...? sorry i can't understand these people... and i can't understand people, who said, kenny is too dangerous, either. because he had always good reasons to be mad and he never hurt Clem or Aj!
And jane not only gave up on people's life easily, she even gave up on her own life in S3...just like a coward.

    • @LordUg
      @LordUg  7 лет назад +8

I totally agree with you. I mean yes okay Kenny was crazy and had no problem killing 95% of the population whether they are human or zombie and in today's society he would be locked away as a psychopath. But from the game world the only thing we could judge him on is how is he when it comes to Clem and AJ and when it comes to those 2, he would give his life without a seconds thought and kill anyone that tried to hurt them and with all the myriad of faults Kenny had (and yes he had plenty), he is still 1000 times better and more trustworthy than Jane ever would be.
Choosing Kenny over Jane is a decision I will always stand by. It was an easy decision for me.

Even though trauma is no excuse Kenny at least acknowledges his faults and apologized. He was only looking out for everyone who he cared about. He always made plans to be safe while everyone else seemed to just no care.
Kenny reminds me of my dad a lot because my mom died when I was younger and he has lots of anger issues but often every fight he would come hug me and talk to me and then we would go get ice cream! So I guess I’m Clementine and my dad is my Kenny lol!

no I agreed with her when it comes to sarah. there are loads of harsh things she said that I think makes a lot of sense and yeah she was really useful. I once dated a girl like Jane, and from my experiences with that here are a couple of stuff that I have experienced that I see in Jane. Jane sets up kenny through out the whole season, she wants us to hate him, she also manipulates Clem by saying "I wont stick around to watch you die like Sarah" a manipulative move that are quite common amongst toxic partners to make you feel like you are doing stuff wrong that makes them want to leave. when she isolates herself from the group, it's a pitty move to make Clem attract herself towards her and buy into her struggles further distancing herself from the group. kenny attempted something similar, only there when Clem confronted him, he bounced back appologizing, while Jane punnished her with distancing. the only redeeming quality is when she ALMOST, JUST ALMOST appologizes to kenny for bringing his family into the arguement in the car. But what makes me hate her the most, is that to proove her point, SHE ABANDONS AJ, IN A CAR DURING BLIZZARDING FUCKING WINTER, JUST TO MAKE KENNY SNAP. the fact that the option wasn't to shoot jane or to look away, and the fact that the brainless retarded Majority decided to kill kenny is Abysmal. another thing, I have a dad like kenny. short fuse, very easy to piss off, holds grudges for long times, over protective, you name it, my dad is like Kenny, and living and growing up with him I have learned that with Him it's very easy to manage, sometimes all he needs is that little Push, and help from his loving family to adjust and pull himself toogether. you can't do that with a Jane. trust me, I know

You know, I never thought of all those reasons, but it's all completely true. I knew something felt wrong about going with Jane in the end, but I couldn't put my finger on it. But after you spelling it out, it's so obvious. You can't rely on Jane. Man, I wanna say Well Done to the game maker. The way they cloaked the situation and made it so easy to pick wrong was very thorough. It all stretched back so much further than I considered. But you did consider everything, LordUg. Well Done to you, too.

    • @LordUg
      @LordUg  10 лет назад +2

Thank you kindly my friend =o). And yes they really did cloak it so well. They painted this picture of Kenny being everything bad and Jane the victim who was trying to get you away from the evil man. But at the same time they slipped in the odd character flaw of hers but didn't make it obvious. While at the same time they made Kenny's faults massive and in your face. Then it's only when you make the decision at the end and pick Jane that when you see Kenny forgive you for shooting him and you find the baby is actually alive, then you start to feel that unease that something wasn't right.
Luckily I was watching Jane quite closely from when I met her and I noticed a more and more sly, controlling and dangerous person as each episode went on. To the point where the decision at the end was so simple and very obvious. Thank you for your comment =o)

She acted like a survivor but wasn't as cold hearted as Jane. I couldn't understand Jane as a character. it just felt like they were trying too hard to make a clone of Molly when they could've brought molly back to make the choice more impactful. I also couldn't understand killing Kenny so Jane could live. Anyone, typically speaking, would act in the same way Kenny would if they thought someone had killed a character. You also have more history with Kenny and really know him. Kenny is a family man, and at the same time will do whatever it takes to keep his family alive. There’s parts that try to imply that he’s a monster, but he always made up for it. Jane is the woman that wants to leave people behind, and she did if you choose her over Kenny. She hangs herself and leaves you alone again.
Kenny came back and stood up for lee in the pharmacy regardless if you sided with him or not when Larry hits you.
Kenny went out of his way to help you look for clementine despite wanting a boat “if you were on his good side.
Then in season two, he wants you to stay with him without hesitation, had the same goal as clementine to go to Wellington, and when carter asked about the radios he took the blame all to defend clementine. I think what the games do is teaches you that if you have a loyal friend you stick by them. You can’t please everyone and the people you think would be there for you really ain’t “Bonnie and mike”, but the ones that you think horrible of are the ones that will be there through thick and then. Kenny just adapted to the world before him. When Sean died in season one he kept bringing him up at the pharmacy. It’s like Rick In season 1&2 then what he turned into after that. Kenny is no different than Rick, and yet lot of people said he was a horrible character and was a bastard.

Thank you =o). I am pleased to enjoyed my explanation and agreed. It does help that I have a good memory. It's the small details that I usually pick up on for some reason. In real life I am the kind of person that takes notice of a persons character and I think I automatically do it in games also. So it can help me make decisions that others don't always make but make sense in the end.
I think they will start next season with multiple starts but I agree they will quickly thin it down to only one storyline otherwise it would be crazy hard work to keep all those stories going. I am totally expecting to lose Kenny since he has had 2 seasons now. I just want the chance to see him go out in an epic manner rather than me shooting him as he fights with a psycho that manipulated me into shooting him.
I'm looking forward to next season also =o)

Honestly, i cant stand kid's. But i understand they're one of the most important thing's, even more so when the survival of the human race is in question.

I agree. Having a baby with you is definitely a danger. Mainly because this baby was the best behaved baby in the world and babies are definitely not as quiet as this one. But I think that it should come down to places like Wellington to expand the human race again. 2 people carrying a baby round would be like constantly banging the dinner bell.

I agree with you. Even if kenny lash out some time in wrong way or right way. He still willing to sacrifice himself. Kenny has he good character development from season 1 to 2. Jane put aj in the car to prove a point that Kenny is a dangerous person. Don't a lie out a angry person who lost he wife, son, another wife and almost lost Aj because a lied.

Kenny was extremely unstable and Jane did not like him. As you saw the only person Kenny actually cared for was Clem until aj was born. Therefore Jane and Kenny had no relationship which was harmful for the group. also There was no way that Kenny could ever make it in a group with Clem. This is because Clem reminds him of his family. Jane saw the instability of Kenny and saw that it would get people hurt. Jane actually cares for Clem. Clem was the only reason Jane came back. That’s why she didn’t want her to be around Clem. I admit Jane was selfish bay times but as I said she did care for Clem. I chose Jane because she had survival tactics and had a real plan. There was no guarantee we were going to find Wellington so I thought Jane was the safer option. There was guaranteed food at carver’s place.

I do understand the point you are making. But let's not forget that Jane admitted that she left her own sister to die just because her sister was giving up. I don't know about you but if my sister or someone I am supposed to care for started to give up I would never stop trying to keep them going and I certainly wouldn't walk away and leave her to die. If Jane would leave her sister to die then how can we ever believe that she wouldn't do the same to Clem if the circumstance went that way. Also she did leave the group at one time. We even saw Jane show the same kind of uncaring attitude with Sarah. Just because Sarah wasn't moving she was saying we should just leave her. That seems to be a trait of Jane. If they don't move quick enough then leave them behind. Kenny is crazy but he would never leave Clem while he had a breath left in him.
Also how do we even know we would have been safe behind those walls. I felt safer with Kenny.
The great thing about this game is that we get to choose whichever path we feel is right. So maybe for you Kenny was the wrong choice and Jane was better. For me Jane was too self centered on her own survival and willing to leave anyone behind to save herself. Kenny never gave a hint he would betray Clem. But I certainly respect your opinion. Thank you for your comment =o)

Jane seemed more stable than Kenny and spent most of her trying to prove to Clem that Kenny was could be reckless and dangerous which I agree with to an extent but when it came down to the other characters she never helped them either. She just assumed Rebecca would either leave the baby or kill it first, she doesn't make any attempt to save Sarah the first time and even if Clem does save her in the beginning she never thinks to try and help Sarah again when she hanging off the ledge unless Clementine tells her too.

When I was playing the 2nd season for the first time, I let Kenny kill Jane, but he did it so brutally with a cold blood, just slaughtering her. I was shocked, and then I decided to replay this moment and kill Kenny, but it was a mistake. Right after finishing season 2, I started A New Frontier, and when I saw Clementine's flashback that Jane had committed suicide, I still had fresh memories of how she swore to Clementine that she would never leave her again. Jesus Christ, I was so pissed that I ruined my story with this replay; I actually made the right choice when I was playing it the first time. So, I just deleted my save in A New Frontier, went back to season 2, killed Jane as I did the first time, and finished the game in Wellington. And you know what? I don't regret that I replayed it again. As always, your first choices are right, so it's better never to replay it.

I killed kenny, left Jane. Kenny is too dangerous to anyone but who he obsesses over, even then.

In a normal world I would agree with you. Kenny is certainly way to dangerous to be a positive member of society. But putting it into context where you are, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, then I think Kenny is the perfect person to be with. In the world they are in it is all about survival and there are so many people willing to steal, betray and kill you that having anyone on your side who will put everything on the line to protect you, even if they are dangerous and unpredictable, that is still a onus. For all his faults Kenny never did anything to Clem to make anyone think he would ever hurt her or the baby. With all his faults Clem was safe with him.
But in the end we all get to have our own opinions and reasons for choosing which path we take. That was the beauty of this part of the game. Thank you for your comment =o)

@@LordUg perhaps if you are a child, or are in some way related to Kenny I could see your point, Kenny is extremely protective to the point of paranoia in some cases. But if you are an adult, Kenny is a hard headed and controlling individual who has been shown to kill other members of his party under stress. Not only that but he also been shown to have delusions of grandeur regarding himself being the only person able to make decisions and protect the people around him, particularly anyone he has attached himself to. Overall he is more dangerous in a lot of ways than the zombie horde, and only slightly less dangerous than say, a bandit.
That being said, Jane is not much better. And her willingness to abandon and manipulate people around her makes her a poor choice as well, particularly if you are a child or have children.
Thank you for responding. Overall, I would pick neither to accompany me.

@@MrJackMTama I agree with everything you said about Kenny and in a normal world the best thing for him would be locked away from society. However this is not a normal world. The aim of the game is survival above all things and out of Kenny and Jane I would say Kenny is the best for survival if you get on his trusting side that is. You were right when you said 'if you are a child' which of course Clem is. Yes she has been through a lot but she is still way too young to navigate the complexities in the world beyond what she has experienced with other survivors. Kenny has no clue about manipulation. He wears his heart on his sleeve for all to see and I think that straightforwardness is better for Clem since in a lot of ways she is innocent with how shady some people can move and if Kenny doesn't like you he just punches you lol.
Jane is way too manipulative to be good in any way for Clem. I don't think Clem would see Jane's manipulations coming until they hit and did their damage. She even locked a baby in a car in freezing cold temperatures and zombies around just so she could manipulate Kenny into attacking her to show how crazy he is. In some ways she is more unstable than Kenny........ Maybe you are right. It's probably best to stay as far away form both of them as possible. Talk about the lesser of two evils lol.
Also no need to thank me for responding. I like responding to well thought out comments worded in a mature way =o)

@@LordUg Your comments as well as a few other things like let's plays have led me to doing a run of The Walking Dead recently, replaying it to see what happens. So far I am only on the first game and I have to admit, I hate siding with Kenny. He is too hasty and single minded for my likes, and I hold firm on the idea that he is more than willing to throw you under the bus if he doesn't like you. However he is loyal enough not to do to Lee like he did Larry in episode 5, I just can't get over the brutality he is willing to inflict on others for the goal of survival. Including the poor girl in episode 3 whom he suggests you leave alive to attract the walkers.
In the following episodes he is a broken man, he has his morals about him, as fractured as they are. But he is too unpredictable, same in a lot of ways to lilly, who shot another member of the group, (Doug or Carly) out of paranoia. If you are Lee, or someone else looking after Clem like Omid for example in season 2? I would not trust him. He has not moved on at that point, he only replaced Katja with Sarita, and beyond that he is still paranoid, still controlling, still ready to tell you and everyone around you to go to hell.
But, considering this is from the point of view from Clem, who has gone through a lot and still can't survive on her own, I can see why people would think he is better than no one. Jane is also better than no one at all, but Jane is flaky, and dangerous in her own regard. Hell, she even had "relations" with luke, which is not bad, but the reaction afterwards when he was in danger makes me think that she was only concerned with getting what she could from him. Who knows? Maybe she'd encourage Clem to do the same?
In the end, Clem was the centerpiece of so many solutions. No matter how moral Kenny is, or how immoral Jane is, Or vice versa, I think Clem was better off alone.

That’s exactly what I did, thing is a lot of people that like Kenny are very biased. He was worse then Jane fact, he was manipulative he even manipulative Clem, he acts like a baby when he doesn’t get his own way, he also can be very selfish especially in season 1. He goes off literally with anything, like with nick he repeated one word and that was it Kenny was going off for no reason, Kenny doesn’t listen to Clem which pisses me off he doesn’t care what she wants. Do I think he cares about her and AJ in his own special way yeah😂
