I think Krysta filming in front of Alarmo messed it up and decided to end the alarm early. I think it would’ve worked if it was just Kit in front of the alarm.
But what if your child/parent/gf/bf/spouse/dog/cat walks between you and the bed while you're sleeping and stops the alarm that way? You sleep in. I'm not sure why they added motion sensors to this.

That alarm definitely thought whoever the alarm was for is up. It acknowledged movement. They didn’t actually get to discover the ramp up either, but I don’t think they could have unless Kit was the only one there, which actually is quite disappointing really.

So you can turn it off (or tell it that you’ve woken up bc it doesn’t really “turn off” when you wake up) by just touching the top button. Definitely not sure about this but I believe they talk about that somewhere in the video, I’ll reply with a time frame if I find it.
I've used this two days in a row and it works really well to wake you up, much better than some blaring sound, you slowly start to wake up with the music then the characters start to come on and go away as you move, kind of like a mini snooze. The fanfare is also funny once you're out of bed!
I would really recommend you to use a wake up light! They are absolutely fantastic for waking you up slowly and naturally! My kid loves this clock! But honestly.. it's a little to up noxious for me as a grown up nintendo fan.
Yeah I'm really enjoying it! I've had the fairy fountain wake me both mornings so far, but I've just set it to chain chomp for tomorrow. I'm going to try each one now in order.

Alarmo is heavy-sleepers’s worst nightmare and I’m all for it. I’m a heavy sleeper and I have gone to work late several times it’s not even funny. Also my vibrating alarm clock stopped vibrating, and has gone off a few times I ended up again being late for work. So I need those Nintendo characters to NAG me awake in my life especially 20 minutes in? Yes Nintendo! Come through LOL 😂

I’m wondering if your test of the motion sensor was completely fair because it appeared that your camera might have been partially in the sensor’s field of view during some of it, which could have either confused the sensor or partially blocked its view.
Apparently you can only use this if you sleep alone. All the news articles I’ve been seeing this morning said stuff like “Alarmo, the alarm clock for single people” 🤣
Tbf using an alarm clock while sleeping with someone else is evil unless both person have the same schedule. Even when I do, I personally just set an alarm just in case and turn it off before it actually rings.

Ur supposed to have the volume up enough to wake u up and it shouldn't be loud enough at first as it gradually gets louder. Choose a different alarm sound if the one doesn't do it for you.
There seemed to be a few mistakes they made in here, including setting the time to PM instead of AM. They edited out fixing the alarm to go off “PM” it seems…
I can't wait to get my own Alarmo someday. It definitely sounds better than the old fashion alarm clock from back in the day and with Navi. Reminds me of Squidward with his stack of alarm clocks in his closet when he and SpongeBob completed for employee of the month 😂
I really feel like the risk of oversleeping will be mitigated if you turn the volume all the way up and switch to the theme that's based on rock music and the sounds of war.
I use a very soothing violin sound on my phone as my wake up song. This is a super cute device, but those are the last type of sounds I want to hear to wake me up. ❤

I thought the screen was rounded all the way through the black bezels but it’s a squared off screen Nintendo could of done the rounded screen all the way through the black bezels but other than that it’s an interesting little bedside alarm clock I might purchase one.
Honestly, it is a cute idea. It's from Nintendo and it's made by Nintendo. Would I buy one? Not right now. Usually I like to wait and buy the second model of a device because this lets the company fine tune everything and add more if not better features. But then again, this is just and alarm clock in 2024. We have plenty of options to choose from but this a first official clock from a gaming company we all know and love.

If you ask a 100 bucks😅 they could have atleast made the screen round to fit the actual form factor.. its kinda 90s and cheap to put a square screen in a round bezel at that price point. Also poor lagging performance 😅.. yeah.. i like nintendo! And this is definitely great for kids! But again, at that price point i expect more quality
it's too steep for 100usd. there's no battery for when there's an outage. ALSO, they might as well have it as a BLUETOOTH SPEAKER that you can use for the rest of the day given it has a big speaker!
Not to be a downer, but the warning about the coin battery exists because small kids and pets have died from ingesting them. Its somewhat surprising that Nintendo would choose to use this battery in a device meant for kids. In any case, parents and pet owners need to be aware.

It was unclear if movement is like hitting the snooze or not. Because I assume the alarm initially goes off. You wave at it. That is the equivalent of hitting the snooze so you can go back to sleep, which silences it for about 10 minutes (at least most alarm clocks have around a 10 minute snooze time), and then it goes off again until you stop it or hit snooze again. You guys waited one minute and thought that was it. Can you confirm whether the alarm started going off again after you finished the video (or did you unplug it)?

Ok after 24 hours with Alarmo I shall fight anyone that says it's bad! Love this Alarm clock and can't wait for lots more themes... Kind of suspecting this will fizzle fast but these 5 and Animal Crossing and Mario Kart will do if so :)

If it functions sleep soother I would consider getting it. In which I have trouble sleeping more than waking up. The functionality looks like if you combine an Xbox Kinect (motion sensor) and an Apple Watch (digital crown) and combined into an Amazon Echo Spot (shape probably price). Just like the Kinect, the Alarmo struggles on motion sensors. If you want to see your favourite Nintendo IP on screen in action when you’re not playing a video game. This would be ideal. But in conclusion, even if you have this as a display piece, don’t use it as an alarm clock and just get a proper one. I would also say that this could be for kids who love Nintendo and doesn’t have access to a phone or tablet
I had my phone alarm play the hyrule and termina field themes from the N64 Zeldas for a while. I love those games and themes, but waking up to them started to really get on my nerves. I do not recommend using songs you like as alarms because they quickly become associated with being woken up, which never feels great. If you want to get Alarmo, I strongly recommend picking songs from games you aren't particularly fond of or putting it on shuffle at least. Or just use your phone. We all have one guys

Agreed. Testing on a chair placed against a brick wall instead of a bed also isn't ideal. Also should've tried Sleepy Sounds & hourly chimes.

The info about bed size and the like being on the box seems like really important pre-purchase info actually.
I saw what you guys did wrong!! You set the time to 11:00 pm then tried setting the wake up alarm for 11:12 am you guys had 12 hours to go!
The alarm was corrected when they did the actual test. Still, idk why they just left it to have the wrong time.

I used this for the first time last night. This is an amazing alarm clock. Best I’ve ever used. Setup is a pain and it’s expensive but it’s worth it.
I imagine it did nothing because a camera was in front of the clock blocking the sensors

It's not the first official clock from Nintendo, they made the very successful Game & Watch about 40 years ago. And then made several remakes of it.
I think I would like it more if it was green and looked more like a warp pipe. But still looking forward to mine arriving!

The interface has subtle the design language from the Nintendo 3DS. The setup process is ported straight from the 3DS setup (except for mario)

It worked fine. Krysta was up, it noticed it and played the success chime, then ended. Disturbing the sensor and saying the detection is bad 🤦♂️
