Not many people comment on this channel's videos. I have the time to read them and throw out some likes. Something that little is some encouragement.

I agree, the ability to get along with the others in the band is super important. Lots of things go into being successful besides next-level technical ability!

Chad Smith ,perfect example of a drummer that plays what's appropriate for the song!

Great video!! Most of the gigs out there do not require insane chops or complicated playing. I’m not talking about stadium gigs either. Bands that play in clubs and bars, most of the time are looking for someone dependable, can stay in time, hit all the cues in the songs, and can tune the drums well enough to have good live sound.
Love the positivity man!! Sometimes it’s hard to even assess our own skill level in comparison to other drummers. Because I’d say you’re an incredible drummer!!! 🤘

I love myself and it’s a joy to play an instrument I love
Much love to anyone just trying to better themselves you got this and you are loved

I year into my drum journey and I have to constantly remind myself it’s the journey not the destination and it’s not a race either

Skill is important but most importantly make sure you’re having fun and enjoying playing music first 🗣️ it’s okay to just have fun. So what if you don’t sound like so and so. Just enjoy what you’re doing first and foremost

Most of the top 40 songs throughout time are 4/4 120bpm. That's all. Nobody is singing and dancing to our 5/4 over 3/4 poly-rhythms.

I personally care more about being a great bandmate/bandmember and utilizing my technique inside of a band. Idc if some jagoff on the internet or in life thinks I “shred”, how does my band sound?

Always room for improvement, which is where we all get too self-critical.
