Haha my attachement issues are actually why I switch! I'm playing with a legacy and now that most children of the founders are young adults, I've had to have them move out to start their own life. 3 are married & each have their own house, 1 moved out in an apartment with her best friend, and then 1 is still with her mother and 3 siblings who aren't adults yet (yes im aware there are plenty of kids my founder got triplets, adopted her niece and there's 2 half siblings 😭). And I love all these sims so I always rotate to make sure I play with all of them and nobody is left behind in time. Now I organized a holiday reuniting 4 siblings and each of those siblings' partner & since all of them are from different households, I'll have to rotate even while all 8 are under the same roof ahahah Edit: oh and I had aging turned on for a really long time because there are many other households and I wanted everyone to keep growing at the same time however now that the founder is an elder not far away from dying I turned it off 😔 I'll turn it back on when I'll be ready for her to go...
the rotational gameplay is actually a really good tip. i started with going into all of the premade households and giving the sims/their homes make overs and updated jobs and skills and got invested in building up everyones little story. Made the game kinda fun again :)
I did that with San Myshuno, moving families, aging people up. Akira and Mimi are married with two dogs and two kids, Arun and Jesminder finally had their son who’s a child, the arts quarter is the university area with a penthouse area, spice market has a library and kids park, there’s a dog park, spa, restraint. Meanwhile, Judith is getting older and older every day, and she wants a baby before it's too late! My Sim gets her pregnant, but then tells her he's gay. She's incredibly supportive and they both decide to keep going with the lie, the marriage and the baby. Judith gets a boyfriend and the four of them live in the house with the infant until they're rich and famous enough to get divorced. They just wanted the fame, the attention, and they got it.
Also clubs from "Get Together" have actually more use than you can imagine. If we're going with the vampire = religion thing then made a club for vampires and then they could gather and have religious meetings or sth
I made some homeless Sims once, they lived on a lot I turned into a park, with just a few benches and a fire pit. They were constantly stinking and tired but ate well because they fished and gardened (and roasted them over the fire). It was a lot of fun. Then I decided I will have them earn enough to build a basic house on the lot with money only made from busking, selling paintings and writing books (using library computers), it took ages but the day they finally saved enough to buy their first bed, the cheapest available, felt like a real achievement 😂
Use mods or cheats and add traits like never weary or potions master or animal whisperer to your orphanage kids too, I think it's cool. It was especially fun when I used mc command center to give a child the good and evil traits.
I love the rotation playstyle. I filled Newcrest with different families and a few public lots, and I change the family I play pretty often, so I never get bored. It's also fun to rediscover what I made after weeks of not seeing a certain home. Things like: "Ah, yes, I made this guy a loner" or "Damn, this kitchen is awful, what kind of useless person built... Oh right".
I'm currently trying to do this with a legacy style so I'm starting with one family and the husband cheated and got divorced so while still living together him and his mistress married so now I got two families to play atm lol
Litterally 1 of them lives near me (planned to have a baby at 14 after being with the guy for a month) She literally gets fustrated with her kids most the time i see her and when she was old enough to drink she was out every weekend dumping her kid on family. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

For me the game starts to get boring when my sims get Rich and very good houses. I have this family i play since 2018 and its in the 5th generation now. When I was getting bored I just took one sim or two of that family and moved them out so i would like to continue to play with that family.
@@sandroribeiro7644 when my sims get too rich, i just pretend that their business goes bankrupt or they lose their job, so they lose all their money and i get to start fresh lol
I think this tutorials exist because look like many really didn't know how to play this game. Like, how could you pretend of having fun playing exatcly the same type of family over and over again doing always the same things? Even The Sims 2 and 3 would be boring if played like this. That's a reason if in The Sims 2 the rotational gameplay is a standard suggested by Maxis and in The Sims 3 the "themed gameplay" made by playing 1 or 2 espansione at once are a thing.
The Sims 4 doesn’t have an overall goal in the game. It’s a sandbox and solely dependent on the user making their own fun. You need to constantly find new ways to entertain yourself, which takes effort and creativity some people don’t want to put in
Chey true! The sims is all about creativity but many want a more RPG sims with pre-built stories (maybe that's why EA come out with the "story driven packs). The funny thing is that of all the problems TS4 has, apparently what made many hate the game is the "lack of interesting townies", that could be simply solved by downloading from the gallery new families, or by downloading a custom save!
@@missundies I wanted to build a house with secrets hallways, ladders and bookshelves, I would lock these "doors" to one Sim only, which would be the stalker of the family. But figuring out the layout is too hard.
@@bornxntuesday just to come up with it is something else, that's such a cool idea! Maybe it could be the landlord or someone owning a hotel. I guess one could start with doing a really simple layout, not that I can think of one 😂
Every time I do a legacy challenge I try to make siblings move out so I can have a separate household. It's more fun to switch between them than just playing with one household all the time! The only problem I've had with this is when someone dies and I'm not on the lot I lose their tombstone.
Lmao right I gave up every save I had a toddler in. I kept trying to put them on the special kid chairs and feed them but it wouldn't work for whatever reason. I got tired of that and trying to teach them so I just gave up lmao
Honestly I feel the game rewards you too much for growing a sim since they are literal newborns. If you care for them well, and complete all the child and teen aspirations your sim actually grows up to be an overpowered sim. It’s too unbalance-y for me. Since when you create a sim it starts with 0 skills. Having grown a sim since birth changes the gameplay dramatically. Like I can grow a sim to a YA and already have 8+ traits. It’s kinda crazy overpowered.
my most complicated sims family: Youngest daughter lives with dad, step-mom and half brother Mom lives alone (planning to get her a new family) Oldest daughter lives with girlfriend (shes lesbian) and her adopted son
I wanted a daughter with my single sim and I only got sons so I killed them all when they were teens with the cow plant. In the end I killed like 14 sons and I finally got a girl, but then the mother literally died because of electrocution so I lost the family 🙂🔫
If thats the most complicated, you are really innocent sweet little baby who just likes to create a perfect and sweet life for your sims bc your own life is messed up. Am i right?
Once I had a teenage sim, and she just wanted to be a rock star when she grew up. So, CLEARLY she didn't have to go to school anymore. She started ditching every day, but the question became: what was she supposed to do all day? Well, I challenged myself to have her live in the biggest house in Willow Creek, (home to the Spencer-Kim-Lewis's) for as long as possible without them knowing. (Kind of like your sims-in-the-walls idea.) She'd take naps on unused beds, eat their leftovers, and hang out upstairs. She also briefly dated their teenage daughter before leaving her for Bob Pancakes when they were older. It was a good time all around.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 "Don't use cheats..." Yeah... I feel called out rofl but to be fair, I'm more a storyteller than a game player, so if a bathroom run is gonna ruin a scene then I will play goddess and take care of the bladder issues 🤣
dude, having three sims go to university on a long lifespan while trying to create a storyline is an absolute nightmare. you need cheats to get all their homework done. one of my sims that were at university is a coffee addict (has the lifestyle) so i had to keep making them coffee and then repairing the coffee machine because i was too broke to afford a better one lol
The game does have some issues, and yes, she is right about how I sold my soul to pay for the packs, but the game doesn't suck, it's good! ( No hate though, I respect ur opinion)
@@nighty_chan900 how are they trying hard tho?? Modders make the stuff they make in the matter of a month. I always start my sims family and then just keep buying bigger houses and then i have a kid and realize that kids are annoying and then give up that family 😭😭
life isn’t just about having kids and trying to get to the top of your career. kids are annoying as hell like you said and jobs are boring. try doing something that’s actually exciting with your next household and you’ll probably actually enjoy it. like maybe enemies to lovers. two members from two different clubs that hate each other begin to fall in love. add some drama, maybe one of them does maybe they don’t... you should give supernatural packs a try too cause they’re really fun. there’s a lot of stuff that you can do with the spellcasters and vampires. and i actually really love the new supernatural stuff pack.
How to make it less boring: Decide to have even more generations on one family as in the Sims 3 (my most were 15) then have 6 kids who are too dumb to feed themselves and then decide they need a self life after moving out so playing six different families 😂😂
as well as having over 100gb of cc and mods (yes my computer hates me) i play a singular family, the main generation has 20 kids. Now the patriarch and matriarch have over 35 grandchildren. I developed a personality and storyline for most of the main gen's kids. So now I have like 10+ families within the same family that I play.
Alright, I've been playing sims on a laptop for YEARS. I think its time to get a desktop. 35 grandkids?!!??! I hate having to stop the game to go to work because my sim is now a grandmother to her teen daughter's son. 35 grandkids would make me wanna retire tomorrow🤣
“You are bad at playing the sims” A) you got straight to the point in 2 seconds and b)way to call me out in the first 2 seconds 😆 but I have exactly 663 hours 😂 I mainly play when I am bored because its something to do
I had more hours in sims 3 I can't remember exactly but I had loads my friend started to be like ok why and how are you playing this game for 7 hours a day every day
@@confusedtea7 wow in a year?? It's been a year since I got my game (well unless you count ps4, I used to play there at first) however on PC I must be at like 500 hours only or smth. I'm sure I would be have thousands of hours had it not been for university 😭😭😭 I literally had to stop playing the game since August and only restarted few days ago while I'm on a break.
I actually already play multiple families. When I'm bored with one family I play another family and by family I don't mean only Families. I also play Single Households and all of them have different "stories". I also try to do an Utopian Save File and an Dystopian Save File with exactly the same Sims, the only difference is that in Utopia everything is wholesome "vanilla" and in Dystopia it's the opposite. :-) For example in Utopia Evergreen Harbour is Green in Dystopia Ever Green Harbour is Industrial, in Utopia all the Vampires get cured (or deleted if unpleasing to the eye) in Dystopia I turn as many Sims as possible into Vampires. In Utopia the mother plant is dead Strangerville is saved, in Dystopia the mother plant is thriving at its peek and I try to infect as many Sims as possible. In Utopia Sims die of old age in Dystopia... Not. Lol Edit: and I use mods. ^^
In the sims 3 one of the best times I ever played was that I made a hobo sim, I used cheats to erase the money I had and made the house literally a outdoor area with an outhouse. It’s even more awesome that the sims 3 was open world, it made it so more fun.
5:10 - "We don't have to wait for a Farming Pack!" Me 6 months after this video came out: *Just chilln because Cottage Living is about to burst out of EA's butthole...*
I started a house with a pair of twin sisters, that moved in to Newcrest, they both have a crush on the neighbor(Max) who is married with no kids, who is also a flirty bastard. He can’t tell the sisters a part, so he is basically flirting and sleeping with both of them. So now this is causing a rift between the sisters, because they are both falling for him. Max’s wife has no clue he’s cheating with the twins, but plot twist: She’s friends with one of the twins. 😂
This is a decretory suggestion , make portraits of your sims and hang them up around town in bars, cafes , gyms, restaurants, pet hospitals and or other people’s homes :)) I also made Eve and Aphrodite i’m the sims made them get nakey and did nude portraits of them both killed them/ deleted the household and hung up the masterpieces in my house and moved a new family in i also put them up in bars and other places clubs too and in the art gallery in city living i did use *wicked whims* bc i didn’t want the blur and it made it more beautiful if you put pink lights or colored lights around them it’s so *ethereal* and gorgeous i loved it so so so much and especially if you make it light pink by using normal white lights and colored pink lights at the same time
I've had a great time with a preppy boy's school with 7 teens and kids and one headmaster. They've got a science lab, a library, dorms, about six fireplaces, a dining hall, and a hidden room only the kids know about. I stopped their aging up because I was having so much fun with it. We had field trips, we snuck girls in, we had a blast.
I do! One thing I try to do is completing ALL the aspirations with the same Sim. I keep buying the youth potions as to get them to not age and die. Once I get bored of that Sim I just adopt 5 children one after the other and get the parent to raise them
@@nctsgrass I had a family of one in Sims 3 (with the loner trait) who just focussed on mastering every skill, reaching top of every career, collecting, inventing, painting etc every type of available thing lmao. It was a case of OCD 😂
im playing a royalty + generations merged kinda save file for 2 years now and im totally enjoying myself (kinda way too much lmao), switching between households really work (especially when my sims have a todd I'll just skip to another family and when I'm back viola the toddler is now a child). if yall find it difficult to get started, maybe create your favourite couple ingame, can be a ship of rl ppl or 2d either way its your save file u play how u want as long as u dont bother them. and then have a bunch of children to expand the family (my 2nd gen had 6 kids and the save immediately expanded the moment 2nd gen married and had kids) btw, start in a save file made by simmers!! you'll save some time finding builds off the gallery and placing em, i personally use the simsie save bc it was the only save i know of 2 years ago the life tragedies mod also spices my gameplay by so much bc of how random it is even tho i have it on very slow (ie an engaged princess in my save died bc she was brutally murdered on accident, hence I allowed another princess to marry into the same family but SHE DIED AGAIN, this family is cursed I swear so I gave them that story and now theyre heirless, on the verge of extinction lmaooo) i also have a rule in this save whereby the family (except royal family) with the least amt of simoleons are of higher statuses (basically being poor = powerful), which is similar to the "dont save ur money" tip i guess? kinda fun having to fret over how to freaking spend money in the game (i end up going to magnolia promenade to clear everything that's there LOL) may i also ask what build is that on the 50x50 lot (0:40)? 👀 seems like an ideal build for my next palace
I used to be kind of afraid of playing families with more than like 3 sims. Then I screwed up with my mod configuration, my neighbor suddenly got 8 babies and I made it my quest to raise the perfect litter. Which I fucking did. Perfect toddler skills(the "8 toddlers in a family that absolutely didn't care because of shitty traits" phase was the worst part), grades and everything. They even ended up having PERSONALITIES. Another difficult part was the sheer expenses with eco living bills(Oh, and a random Basemental junkie whose house they just kinda moved into. He spent a lot on drugs.), since I refused to use any simoleon farms. It was SATISFYING as fuck to slowly see their lives improving with their skills. With some more mods to fix the simulation lag, it's REALLY fun to not be in constant control of your sims' every move and to actually treat them like people for once.
oh man the "secret family living in the walls" was a scenario i always wanted to reenact but never got around to it and forgot also a challenge i used to love playing in the sims 3 was the "kidnapped" challenge where instead of kidnapping the town, you are a kidnapped teen (or otherwise being held hostage) and sneaking out every night to do some money hoarding... instead of going to the police for some reason but don't question it too much it's the sims and the challenge to not get caught is fun gjdjfnnd
I have two packs. You want to know what my DUMBASS choose? -Seasons - great purchase, it was on sale, overall 9/10 for dynamic gameplay and *calendars* just lovely - Then I choose *University*, full price, haven't even finished a full degree and got bored after like a couple run throughs. Overall 4/10. Just. stupid. I regret everything. edit: oh and i've been playing for like 3 years on and off
Lately I’ve been playing big households. Like 40+ sims. I make 4 couples in CAS, put them on a big lot and let them multiply. Sometimes I kidnap a townie or 3 to mix up the bloodlines.
FAKE GAMER GIRL you make a very good point! previous sims games had story progression and autonomy but sims 4 gives us MORE FREEDOM to tell our own stories and now those people who had it easy are complaing the sims4 is bad when THEY have no imagination and cant tell a story by themsleves to use to being carried by the game's preference features.SO GLAD YOU SAID IT and nobody else is saying it.iv watched many of your video and just found you as funny but THIS VIDEO showed me you actualy have a good head on your shuolders! Wow I’m so proud of myself for already employing #2, I moved the Burbs and a recently kicked out Daniel Pleasant into some small faux-condo small houses I made on one lot, and now the burbs have 4 children in such a small space. Fun time!
I cannot get enough of you. This is my second video I’ve watched of yours and I subbed on the first one. Idk what I was doing on RUclips before I found your channel. 😍 😍 💗 💗 💗
The longest I’ve ever played with the same sims was when I tried to maintain a polyamorous relationship without any of em breaking up with eachother. Atm they now have a Toddler and I’m going to move them to a bigger house so their family can expand.
Oh! There's actually a way to get past this! I havw a polyamorous household where I had all of them complete the serial romantic aspiration! When it's completed, your sim is rewarded the player trait, which makes it impossible for other people to get jealous of them!
fun gameplay to switch it up: build a frat house with ugly mismatched furniture and a bar, make frat guys, and throw parties every night. if you have get together make a club for the frat and make the required trait "bro", and then set group activities like "drink at bar" "go in hot tub" "woohoo with young adults" etc etc bonus is make a sorority across the street, and try to get everyone to sleep through the other house
This is probably too exaggerated or weird to notice, but it made me happy that when she said "Simamerica", she mentioned the continent, and not the United States
5:51 I agree with this tangent, I am awaiting the addition of more occult Sims like Werewolves. But, I am a bit apprehensive as to how they’ll develop them.
I have this one sim, and I usually make her restart her life every once in a while, taking different paths every time. Who know what she'll be in her next life? A Vampire? Maybe! Will she be good or bad? Both! Probably, I'll let that happen when it happens.
I actually really like the idea of playing a different family every Sim week. I'm currently on gen. 7 and switching around to my Sim's bothers/sisters/nieces/nephews could be fun and a nice change.
My friend got me into Sims a year ago. Best mistake ever. I didn't know that it wasn't normal to have around 800 Sims at once. My friend was horrified. Honestly, I should seek a therapist for this😂
Another tip, if you don't already do this: Put on the option of everyones lives going on while you play a family and let random townies move in empty homes. I know I know, sounds obvious but you know what? I had some fun things happen. Lothario settled down with a totally unrelated townie and got 3 kids with her. Katrina got with J Huntington and had a child. A random generated family consisting of a single dad with his daughter moved in a house and the dad married Mitchell Kalani. When I realized I just went??? lol ok. So.. if you want to spice up your game.. let it do some stuff on it's own. See who breaks up, who gets together. Maybe even do that with a completely new savefile so everything is fresh and you still have tons of empty lots.

plleaassee this game is the best, the only reason I need more to do played the game for 1,809 hours and I get bored of it after that damn long so stfu
Any have with non-linear gameplay? I have these types of videos about Sims and Skyrim in my recommended
Looks like someone got inspired by the Pickens family having mole people living in their walls

Every time I do a legacy challenge I try to make siblings move out so I can have a separate household. It's more fun to switch between them than just playing with one household all the time! The only problem I've had with this is when someone dies and I'm not on the lot I lose their tombstone.
I know this is my problem too. I can't trust these sims to take care of themselves
My sims family: has a toddler
Me: **Immediately abandons save file thinking wtf am I doing**
Lmao right I gave up every save I had a toddler in. I kept trying to put them on the special kid chairs and feed them but it wouldn't work for whatever reason. I got tired of that and trying to teach them so I just gave up lmao
Just feed them on the floor or couch.
age them up, maybe you'll enjoy a kid or teen more?
Honestly I feel the game rewards you too much for growing a sim since they are literal newborns. If you care for them well, and complete all the child and teen aspirations your sim actually grows up to be an overpowered sim. It’s too unbalance-y for me. Since when you create a sim it starts with 0 skills. Having grown a sim since birth changes the gameplay dramatically. Like I can grow a sim to a YA and already have 8+ traits. It’s kinda crazy overpowered.
my most complicated sims family:
Youngest daughter lives with dad, step-mom and half brother
Mom lives alone (planning to get her a new family)
Oldest daughter lives with girlfriend (shes lesbian) and her adopted son
it can get a lot worse my dear

Why not just kick out the kids
life isn’t just about having kids and trying to get to the top of your career. kids are annoying as hell like you said and jobs are boring. try doing something that’s actually exciting with your next household and you’ll probably actually enjoy it. like maybe enemies to lovers. two members from two different clubs that hate each other begin to fall in love. add some drama, maybe one of them does maybe they don’t... you should give supernatural packs a try too cause they’re really fun. there’s a lot of stuff that you can do with the spellcasters and vampires. and i actually really love the new supernatural stuff pack.

For example in Utopia Evergreen Harbour is Green in Dystopia Ever Green Harbour is Industrial, in Utopia all the Vampires get cured (or deleted if unpleasing to the eye) in Dystopia I turn as many Sims as possible into Vampires.
In Utopia the mother plant is dead Strangerville is saved, in Dystopia the mother plant is thriving at its peek and I try to infect as many Sims as possible.
In Utopia Sims die of old age in Dystopia... Not. Lol

In the sims 3 one of the best times I ever played was that I made a hobo sim, I used cheats to erase the money I had and made the house literally a outdoor area with an outhouse. It’s even more awesome that the sims 3 was open world, it made it so more fun.

The fact that we need people to tell us how to make the sims 4 fun, goes to show how much fun the game actually is...
This is a decretory suggestion ,
make portraits of your sims and hang them up around town in bars, cafes , gyms, restaurants, pet hospitals and or other people’s homes :))
I also made Eve and Aphrodite i’m the sims made them get nakey and did nude portraits of them both killed them/ deleted the household and hung up the masterpieces in my house and moved a new family in i also put them up in bars and other places clubs too and in the art gallery in city living i did use *wicked whims* bc i didn’t want the blur and it made it more beautiful if you put pink lights or colored lights around them it’s so *ethereal* and gorgeous i loved it so so so much and especially if you make it light pink by using normal white lights and colored pink lights at the same time

I've had a great time with a preppy boy's school with 7 teens and kids and one headmaster. im playing a royalty + generations merged kinda save file for 2 years now and im totally enjoying myself (kinda way too much lmao), switching between households really work (especially when my sims have a todd I'll just skip to another family and when I'm back viola the toddler is now a child). if yall find it difficult to get started, maybe create your favourite couple ingame, can be a ship of rl ppl or 2d either way its your save file u play how u want as long as u dont bother them. and then have a bunch of children to expand the family (my 2nd gen had 6 kids and the save immediately expanded the moment 2nd gen married and had kids) btw, start in a save file made by simmers!! you'll save some time finding builds off the gallery and placing em, i personally use the simsie save bc it was the only save i know of 2 years ago
the life tragedies mod also spices my gameplay by so much bc of how random it is even tho i have it on very slow (ie an engaged princess in my save died bc she was brutally murdered on accident, hence I allowed another princess to marry into the same family but SHE DIED AGAIN, this family is cursed I swear so I gave them that story and now theyre heirless, on the verge of extinction lmaooo) i also have a rule in this save whereby the family (except royal family) with the least amt of simoleons are of higher statuses (basically being poor = powerful), which is similar to the "dont save ur money" tip i guess? kinda fun having to fret over how to freaking spend money in the game (i end up going to magnolia promenade to clear everything that's there LOL)
may i also ask what build is that on the 50x50 lot (0:40)?

This amish kind of thing is a good idea
oh man the "secret family living in the walls" was a scenario i always wanted to reenact but never got around to it and forgot
also a challenge i used to love playing in the sims 3 was the "kidnapped" challenge where instead of kidnapping the town, you are a kidnapped teen (or otherwise being held hostage) and sneaking out every night to do some money hoarding... instead of going to the police for some reason but don't question it too much it's the sims and the challenge to not get caught is fun gjdjfnnd
