Oh wow, those pinnacles are extraordinary!! Always love the drone shots you take and they look so stunning from above. Keep the New Zealand vlogs coming! 🫶🏻😃
Wow!😮😲😳 How cool is that, discovering and exploring some of the locations of those Lord Of The Rings movies🎥🎬. Awesome footage, guys, too: some of the views are really quite epic. It was worth watching this on this Saturday morning here in 🇬🇧. Am looking forward to your next Lord Of The Rings trilogy programme, guys. Keep up the great work!😃🙏👍👏 My best 🤗 to you down under in 🇳🇿.
Theres also the site of Rivendell in Kaitoke Regional Park which has some little plaques to commemorate. 2 other spots are (although theres nothing to really see) the quarry off state highway 2 between lower hutt and upper hutt (helms deep) and harcourts park in upper hutt where they shot the orcs pulling down trees.
Ahhh 🤔 how interesting. I’d love to see the Helms Deep location, thanks for the tip! We wanted to go to Rivendell on the way to the Pinnacles but kind of ran out of time 😅
@@cjexplores Not much to see for helms deep unfortunately. It was a working quarry which they used as the location thats gone back to a working quarry. You would have driven past it on the way to upper hutt. I remember when they were filming. The whole area would be lit up with lights at night.
You are at kms away from the actual spot where the set was built. The set was where there once was a quarry, just round the bend on Lyall Bay Esplanade from the bottom of Buckley Road, as you head towards Princess Bay. It was roughly opposite Te Raekaihau Point, Wellington, a marine rock formation.Lat: -41.3497. Long: 174.7926.
Many sites for LOTR in and around Wellington, just touched on in this video. Of course, Wellington city contaions the studios where the film was actually made and the interior shots were filmed.
Fantastic idea for video, so nicely and professionally put together!
Thanks Ervin ❤️❤️
Fun fact! The main reason the films were filmed there was that it was the actual place the historical events took place.
Confirmed 💯 😜🙌🏼

Thanks Louisa! Glad you enjoyed it 😊we are actually putting together a full video (albeit a short one) on the Pinnacles. They are just so fascinating!
@@cjexplores I look forward to seeing it !

Yes!! You’re right 😊 I remember the art installations they had above Embassy theatre when the films premiered! They were so impressive 🤩
Loved this! 👏🏼
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼😊
When I walk through the tracks in Mt Vic...if Im with someone we will freeze and then say 'horse?'....then we jump off the track and hide lol
The part overlooking the Black Gate was filmed inside
You mean in a studio??
@@cjexplores if I remember from behind the scenes it was filmed in gymnasium in Queenstown because of flooding.
The tree hobbits hit under was artificial, it was a prop put there only for filming purposes and then removed.
Ahhh yes we read online something like that. We weren’t sure if it was rumours or not..!
