Anna, you don't need to know how to decorate. It's your house and only you and JT have to be happy in it. If eclectic furnishings is what you like then more power to you. Who says there has to be colour schemes and themes?
Take a tip from a very old woman. Don't bother trying to get things to match. If nothing matches, in an odd way, it all matches and looks *really* good. Unique.

You should try to train Maggie to turn the light off at night so you don't have to get up at night. Don't you have curtains in America? That was one of the first things I got. I guess you don't have any nearby neighbours.
Yes the sound of silence is definitely a thing. I live in the country and apart from the birds I don't hear much. The odd car goes past but you can't really hear them from my place. I love it though. I often have a video or music playing in the background but at night I sleep so well without the background noise.

Looks good, I would anchor the mirror to the wall just in case anyone knocks into it. A grey marble pattern duvet cover similar to the rug would really look posh.

This is the fun bit now. Buying pretty things. Arranging some of the wonderful stuff people have sent you. No wonder you look so happy now all the the stressful things have past. the glint in Annas eyes at the end with the hammer in hand was priceless (forget it Anna until he has life insurance lol). You not have any curtains or blinds at those biiiiig picture windows???!! I’d be buying some net curtains or a roller blind to keep out any prying eyes! And the sun coming in through it, in the early hours of summer mornings it will wake you up! It’s bad enough in my bedroom WITH a Venetian blinds and curtains!! 😳😳😵💫😵💫

Choose a theme, Modern, hipster, vintage or make your own style! Look in thrift stores for nice vintage tables, Bookcases lamp tables and things. I love everything you got and well done for the house! 🙋♂️
Hi both, just a little bit of advice (from my own experience), keep the lamp with the paper pop up shade out of direct sunlight. I have two (from IKEA) that were in direct sunlight and the paper has perished and broken up.
So you have never been to an IKEA?? I mean if you never seen ha lamp like that befor? Congrats to the finnished house. And good luck with the garden

Curtain rail with soft dressing either side , make the room more romantic 😊, there matching frames put black and white photos of view s from outside or special pictures of yourselves ,, that American flag is more office then bedroom 😊,, love the updates on your home ,, ❤

Yaaaay thats awesome news. It's horrible when you know there is stuff to do, but you cant get it done, you just can't fully settle in. Now now its all finished, you can actually settle and call it your home.
With the rug, you can get the folds out quicker if you reverse roll it. Start at the end nearest the mirror and roll it up again.
And please consider hanging that mirror, it worries me that one of the doggos might bump into the edge it and knock it over and if it breaks you got shards of glass everywhere. My big doggo did it once to a free standing mirror, so please at least consider it

Fyi, you could, if you wanted, use the cow head as a stencil. Put masking tape on the front, and spray from the back! 🙂

I would have bought the cow in a cowboy hat painting, also Process: How to Remove Scratches from Mirror
Use a microfiber cloth to buff toothpaste in a circular motion into the scratch for a couple of minutes. After smoothing out the area, rinse the excess off with water and clean the area using a new microfiber cloth. Repeat the process until the scratch has been buffed away.

Anna, you don't need to know how to decorate. When my husband died in 2022, i was a 46 year old widow. Any decorating had been done by either, my dad, or my husband. But i decided i needed something to keep my mind from everything. I did a complete clear out. I built the inside of a built in wardrobe, and redecorated a whole flat. Walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards and floors. I'm disabled, so it took me longer than normal. But I'm proud of what I've achieved. If i can do it, so can you ❤.

I feel like another mirror is needed above the bed to reflect the window light but that might just be my british style haha. The America picture is literally the most American thing i've ever seen! I have seen UK flags in the UK, but never just a picture of the UK shape covered in the flag... Makes me wonder whether American's would forget where they are without these reminders in their homes? 😜🤪

You know, if you got a remote control smart plug or smart bulb, you'd be able to switch the lamp on and off from the bed :) Also, you're really good at the placement of your pictures for the size of the walls. Will you be getting anything for the wall behind your bed?
Decorate however you want. It's your house.
You don’t have to be an interior designer to decorate your home. You just need to find things that make you happy. I have that same lamp! Just be careful keeping it on too long. The shade is just paper and you don’t want the bulb to get too hot. Make sure you use the correct wattage bulb. Love your decorations. It’s all coming together beautifully
It was sooo quiet in that first store you visited - you were almost whispering! Is that normal is the US? There's almost always some terrible music playing in those kinds of stores in the UK.

If the mirror scratches are deep you can buy wax in different colours that is used to fill in scratches on flooring that might help you fill them. Alternatively fill the scratches and mask the mirror off and buy a spray can of car paint in the colour you want and repaint it.

Hi, People in space said when the computer was no good on the old Russian space station. As it was comming to the end of its life. They had to put on space suits to keep warm. So the radio was not working. With no sound it hurt there ears. As your ears are there to hear sound. Because you do not realise when you think there is no sound aroud you on Earth your ears can hear stuff. But it might not register in the hearing part of your brain. But any little noise will sound loud. And you will jump at it until you get use to it.
