About La Toussuire from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne:
Several Tour de France stages took this route as their final stage climb. Just imagine having ridden more than 100 kilometers in the mountains and then finishing off with this out-of-category (hors catégorie) climb. Impressive... The first half is quite difficult, but then the grades become easier with small descents. The views on this ride are simply amazing. Not only will you have ‘Aiguilles d'Arves’, a series of Majestic Mountain peaks, standing as guiding stars on this ride. But often you’ll have unobstructed views of the beautiful Arvan valley.

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, RUclips, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride...
Aah! The memories. Took part in the 2015 Etape which finished in Toussuire. However, got taken out (of time) at the top of the Glandon and it took ages to get back to the finish in a coach which was held up as traffic had been allowed to move again. (Roads were closed for the 'early' finishers). I was lucky, though! We camped at the edge of Toussuire and it took me a couple of minutes to get back after coach ride and collecting my bike. Someone I talked to had an hours cycle ride (it was already getting dark) then a couple of hours by car to his hotel. Thanks again.
Hi Martin, thank you for sharing this wonderful story. Must have been quite an experience :-)
Not too fast which is great, also a good gradient for this uphill....thank you for yet another super uphill video!!
