I'm the first comment that Francis displayed. I signed up for the 1 year term and pay $97.00/month. My credit score is up 60 points, Francis knows what he's talking about. My time spent on this channel has helped me financially, not something you can say about every channel.
My credit score has greatly improved since i started watching beat the bush. I was able to greatly reduce monthly expenses and get better services at the same time too.
I did something similar at my credit union , called shared secured loan. 1000 dollar loan @ 3% 12 months w/ no credit check. $85 dollars monthly and total fee is about 16 dollars at the end of the term.
Hey BeatTheBush, my biggest everyday expenses are groceries and gasoline, I do spend close to 1000 dlls every month only on that, do you think that American Express Blue Cash prefered is my best option to get 6% cash back?? Hope you can answer ma question, thank you.
I had a 520 score when I found your channel.I now have a 720 score avg over the 3 bureaus.I'm very grateful for what I've learned from you.my biggest boost was when I went from 90% utilization to around 5 to 10%. I also got a self lender account and 3 more credit cards in the last 10 months.I'm not sure how much score increase self lender has added to my score.I'm wondering if it would work against me if I don't redo another self lender?
HA! Now you can get very good cards including the great cash back ones. Then later, probably churning them too. You're sort of on the margin there, it'll help to get another self lender loan but definitely much less than your initial year.
I used the Discover IT card, it was 200 down (I think) for a secured card. And eventually when they seen I was responsible enough, they turned my secured card into an UNsecured card and refunded my $200. Then I went on to get a card from my bank, and having 2 credit cards and using them sparingly will raise your credit score. THEN I got my home mortgage at a rate of 3.75%. Woot woot! Your videos have been very motivational! I recommend Nerdwallet. Always some good financial stuff to read :)
NICE one! Use the card sparingly? There are way to use them to the max and not have it reduce your score. But then too long to explain in the comments, I made videos about it.
@@BeatTheBush yessir I use them sparingly, mainly because the lower your utilization rate the better. Im going to look further into your video about using them close to the max, because the cash back I've received on one card I was able to pay for a new washer 😀 thank you for responding. Have a good one sir
Great video as always! Very good concept. I think self lender is a great way to build credit! Thanks for always posting amazing content! I learn a lot from your channel. That’s why I’m SUBSCRIBED!!!
Great info! You can also join a lot of credit unions online (call them right after you do anything so things get processed faster). Just check their rates first. Share secured loans are usually at 3-4% APR, and you don't have to wait for the term to end before getting money back because whatever payment you make unfreezes the same amount from your savings account!
Yeah... that is indeed an option. The not having to wait things could be a good or bad thing depending on the type of saver. Sometimes people need to keep themselves from spending, lol.
Very great and planning on doing the self lender and will look into credit builder. I have money in insight saving btw so some of that money would be used to pay for the loan.
I've been a member of my credit union for five years and they haven't told me once I'm about a credit builder loan even when I applied for regular loans and got denied for low credit.
Well... how nice of them huh? It sort of favors them to charge you more interest but if you know the magic word, they'll suddenly have this amazing product for you to buy.
I currently have 793 on my credit score but it doesn't matter what i do, it never goes beyond that. I've never had a late payment on my credit card and pay off my student loan right after i graduated and never had any loans. My question is how can i go beyond the score i currently have without having a loan?
I been trying to build credit for 7 months in July. And I still don't have a credit score.my utilization ratio is low I been spending 1 percent on my limit ($30) a month to be exact... what should I do? Trying to buy a house soon aswell
Hey BeatTheBush what if I pay my rent, & phone bill in cash? I really want to build my credit to buy a brand new car but there's no proof I pay on time! How should i start building it?
Hi just a quick question, in some videos you say to pay the balance in full each month and in some videos you say to keep a dollar or two for the next month to collect interest, are these reliable way to increase your credit score as well as increasing credit limit?
Pay in full each month is a good general rule of thumb. But if you are in a hurry to do it faster, you spend as you will. Pay to $2.01 right before the statement date. And then you pay it off before the due date. So you pay twice each billing cycle. This is to minimize credit utilization while avoiding the card from cancelling out a tiny amount (low balance cancellation).
Can you please review OpenSky secured card. They claim they do not report as secured. Does that mean it's ok I got it after having two unsecured cards already. One of the cards is a Credit One card which I heard was not a good one. My credit history is only 7 months. Had none before. I also got a self lender 6 months ago because of you. Thanks.
Wait what? A secured card that does not report as secured? What kind of thing is that? I suppose they can report what they want but it almost seems against the rules.
BeatTheBush it says it on the FAQ section. Look up OpenSky secured card. You also do not need a bank account to fund deposit. And there is no hard pull credit check at all.
All good ideas. What about being added as an authorized user on a friend/family member's card that has never been late, has a high credit line, utilization less than 10% and older than a year?
They do not ignore and report the AU to the credit bureaus. This works for every issuer except for AMEX (they don't report credit age) and is highly effective.
It's not that the credit bureaus ignore it, it is how the final score is calculated. Different methods are used to do this to end up with that final number.
Yes, it will decrease overall utilization and if its an old card it will increase average age of accounts both positively impacting score (at no cost!).
Do you recommend me to do the self lender loan if I have a credit of 615. I'm trying to increase my credit because I'm trying to buy a house at the end of the year. Please reply as soon as you can
So are you saying put your $545 in and then pay it back every month for 12 month.? Do I need a purchase anything with the $545 or just leave it on the card and continue to pay 45 a month?
BeatTheBush dammit that's going to be awhile still. I only have 2 years... Or 1 because i cancelled the secured. I'm at 763 on one listing and 733 on another. Gonna apply for another one this summer. Thinking about aaa and Chase freedom. Nobody seems to have much info about the aaa card
Not worth it at that point. The cost does not justify getting it higher to me. If you have a mortgage with years of payment, that'll likely bring it higher.
Hi I hope you can give me some advise my credit score just got to 700 I want to applied to the American Express everyday card what are my adds of getting approved and how much points will I lose when they run my credit.
I'd say it's average odds, not the best. You can have 1-2 hard inquires on your report within a 2 year span and have it affect your credit very very little.
I was able to get a student credit card when I was in college. You have to be careful to use it responsibility but usually the requirements for approval are much lower. Started with a $500 credit limit.
Yeah, I think that winter I spent over $600 on Amazon trying to "save" money with the 5% cash back. Had the cash to pay it off in full, but still a lot of wasteful over-spending looking back.

There are different ways to do it. For long term, that is fine but will impact your short term credit score. You need to know the difference between statement date and due date and pay most of it right before the statement date to boost it short term. You might have to look at my other videos on this since I cant cover all of this in a paragraph.
Entry level by definition requires 0 years of experience. To get a job easier, you could work for free for a short time to get that initial experience or intern while you were studying. Also, look for a job through connections which is the easiest way rather than plastering your resume everywhere.
Thanks for the video, my biggest issue is incorrect information on my credit report. Can you do a video on removing or challenging incorrect data on the report please? I called the agencies but I can't prove any of this.
roxcyn mostly stuff that the ex-wife did and a phone contract that I cancelled after they tried to charge $160 a month instead of the aggreed upon 60 monthly. I'm thinking of hiring a credit repair company but I'm not sure how effective they are.
Richard Benson - OK, so are the debts with a collection agency? You can do credit repair yourself. In your divorce decree, did she agree to pay any of it?
roxcyn they were, but they have been written off and no, I did the divorce in absence since she went off to Mexico somewhere so yeah really don't have much actual evidence that I can give to an agency. So how do you fight then yourself? I've heard that if you contact a collection agency the seven year clock restarts and the debts stay on your record longer.
I have decent credit and I am a millennial and I have had a derogatory paradigm about credit cards. Now i recognize i defiantly have the discipline to use it properly but i am I am unsure of the best card for rewards.
Depends if you want cash back continuously or looking for sign up bonuses. When you get a lot of sign up bonuses, I tend to get indiscriminate as long as they give me something reasonable like around $100 per $500 spend.
There is indeed a point to going higher. That is when you have a higher score, it's easier to churn cards. You can get 10+ cards in a matter of months like I do, it'll drop your score 20 points and it'll still be 820/850.
BeatTheBush churning is using them for their benefits to make gains.. hm I don’t know why this scares me more than other investing type things. Maybe the idea of so much to balance and keep up with
967, only took 4 years, 3 credit cards (sub 5% utilisation) 1 charge card, 2 small loans, 2 phone contracts, a perfect payment history and a partridge in a pear tree.
Any advice on how to get your score above 800 im currently sitting around 780 low usage, 100% on time payments, years of history no negative marks pretty much everything you need to have a 800+ but ive been stuck at 780
ambhoy be grateful you are not in China. Their credit score is based on parking tickets, citations, they even ding you if you buy too many video games, an other stuff.. It's ridiculous. But in the us it's revolves around money only.
Buffet likes to advise buying EVERYTHING outright. I believe there are benefits to being able to take out loans. Life will bring us into temporary emergencies. Do we have the ability to pull something worst case scenario?
David Van Vleet - When last I heard, nearly half of middle class US Americans generally don't even have $400 in the bank. I think that should be a priority, especially with children and families that depend upon 1 income. In the end, emergency borrowing is bad news if you can't quickly settle the debt. Dave Ramsey has an income ratio on how much emergency money people should have put away. Last year I watched a doc on payday lending. For poor families, it's vicious cycle in which your debt deepens and the time to pay off extends. In the end, they do garnish wages and then you're really in deep water. Oh, in England, they've even taken cars that had been offered as collateral. If that's how you commute or get your kids to school, whoa.
Apt215 Melissa Brown Very true. There are some who do well with their finances but end up in a medical emergency, then their house burns down, then some third thing, and they have to feed their kids somehow until next paycheck. Life has done this to several people I know who started families in their early 20's. Because they had good credit, they were able to survive for a week/few weeks. Then you just have to be disciplined to pay it back.
Damn they make it tough for you over there. In the UK it’s easy to build your credit, you can get unsecured CC’s, phone contracts, loans, overdrafts, all sorts. There must be a reason American’s are treated so harshly.
self lender is not a revolving account therefore your credit will drop as much as it went up once the loan is satisfied. this not a long term solution for building credit score.
So what’s you point ? The self lender loan will show a positive payment history it will raise your credit score as well ..we all know payment history counts for 35% of your overall credit. Not sure if I get what you mean but not a long term solution? Did you do a self lender period ?
Will a vehicle impoundment negatively affect my credit score if the towing company slapped the charges in my name even though the vehicle was not in my name? I don't have credit at all, so I'm just wondering.
BeatTheBush I had to recover some possessions from the vehicle that was owned by a deceased relative and inside of the tow company's impoundment lot. I had to get a moving permit printout from the DMV using the car title I had for the vehicle and that was the only way I could go and recover the items, including the license plates. The vehicle was either sent to be crushed or auctioned off to the highest bidder, I just got a letter in the mail hitting me with the impoundment charges. I still get collect calls to my phone after three years despite never having given the tow company my phone number.
Self lender sounds great if for some reason you can’t use a credit union. I did this with my Credit Union and I only paid for the interest, no “administrative fees”.
This has nothing to do with self lender but....Last year April 2017 i started with a 524 credit score. Now this April 2018 i have a 691 👌 just by paying my credit card balance in full.
Nice! That's a great improvement! Yes... it's a slow process though. Did you use the method where you max it out and pay it down? If you started with a credit limit of $500 it's harder.
BeatTheBush i started with a credit of 300$ I would max it out and pay my balance in full before my due date. Cant wait to see what my score is towards the end of the year !
Depends. Don't quote me but it was something like 30 minimum after 6 months. Some people get as high as 150 points if they started from a low score. Some people report their gains in the comments, so have a look.
Whether you are trying to get a loan or not, you should try to get a high credit score anyways; it never hurts to have high credit. lololololol self-lender system is a hilarious business model!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's sort of like faking a history because there isn't a repercussion for failing as long as you cancel it when you know you'll default. You cannot do this with a car loan easily.

All good ideas. What about being added as an authorized user on a friend/family member's card that has never been late, has a high credit line, utilization less than 10% and older than a year?
The most recent credit scoring methods ignore added authorized users so YMMV. Those are almost 'tricks' that will vary a lot in effectiveness.
They do not ignore and report the AU to the credit bureaus. This works for every issuer except for AMEX (they don't report credit age) and is highly effective.

Thank you , and do you have a podcast. If not i would like to listen to your videos as I commute.
I do not have a podcast as I specifically concentrate on video.
If I’m at a 777 is there a point of trying to go higher?
Rambling Ryan not really ur good for the best rates already there is no point unless for bragging rights which no one really cares about
There is indeed a point to going higher.
967?
@@Vladimir-JT Credit score.
Wish self lender was available in canada
Perhaps they will extend there one day. There might be local laws there that prevents this though.
Any advice on how to get your score above 800 im currently sitting around 780 low usage, 100% on time payments, years of history no negative marks pretty much everything you need to have a 800+ but ive been stuck at 780
Here is a vid on that: ruclips.net/video/MCFKNBcyAWs/видео.html But it sounds like you need more TYPES of good credit.
How I wish in Italy it works like this also
ambhoy be grateful you are not in China. Their credit score is based on parking tickets, citations, they even ding you if you buy too many video games, an other stuff.. It's ridiculous. But in the us it's revolves around money only.
Wow.. I didn't know. Interesting!
I didn't pay anything for my secured card
Secured means they secure money. So you had to pay a deposit.
What credit card do you have that did not required a deposit capital one ? Citi bank ? Discover it ?
Damn they make it tough for you over there. In the UK it’s easy to build your credit, you can get unsecured CC’s, phone contracts, loans, overdrafts, all sorts. There must be a reason American’s are treated so harshly.
Lots of people have bad credit perhaps from the way credit is presented to consumers.
self lender is not a revolving account therefore your credit will drop as much as it went up once the loan is satisfied. this not a long term solution for building credit score.
Nuclear Armament no
Not until it gets reported to the credit bureaus as delinquent. How did they charge you even though the vehicle was not in your name?
BeatTheBush I had to recover some possessions from the vehicle that was owned by a deceased relative and inside of the tow company's impoundment lot. I had to get a moving permit printout from the DMV using the car title I had for the vehicle and that was the only way I could go and recover the items, including the license plates. The vehicle was either sent to be crushed or auctioned off to the highest bidder, I just got a letter in the mail hitting me with the impoundment charges. I still get collect calls to my phone after three years despite never having given the tow company my phone number.
Nuclear Armament - Did you sign anything with them?
roxcyn I think I may have now that I think about it... They wanted my ID and that moving permit to retrieve those items from the vehicle.
Self lender sounds great if for some reason you can’t use a credit union. I did this with my Credit Union and I only paid for the interest, no “administrative fees”.
Nice! It sounds like a possibly lower cost way to do it.
I used a credit union also, but went the extra step to use my savings as collateral. That way, I avoided a HP.
is this a ad?
This video is sponsored by SelfLender, yes.
How many points will it go up ? With self lender
Depends. Don't quote me but it was something like 30 minimum after 6 months. Some people get as high as 150 points if they started from a low score. Some people report their gains in the comments, so have a look.
BeatTheBush sounds great thank you
BTB, the like/dislike ratio might decrease your credibility in the eyes of a new viewer.
Yes, that is true.
100th like 😁
Whoa! Thanks!
Everyone should switch to a credit Union
A possibility.
It is time to get a new camera beatthebush. video quality is a level above potato. I instead just listened to what you said. As always; great advice.
I think it's more of me failing to focus properly.
Beefy audio, new mic?
Nope, still using the same one.
You should only buy a house or car with cash, no one NEEDS to finance anything.
A house in large cities costs about $700k. So who has that?
Gabriel Harris difficult to do in Silicon Valley buddy. Even Dave Ramsey would agree with me lmao
Hugo Lizardi yep or eat ramen, rent a room and double down on your business/startup taking off 😂
