wow I didn't realize how much I miss living there until I saw this video, we used to take our boat up from Burlingame, dock near the pier, have lunch and head back home avoiding traffic, good times
I was born in San Fran. I never miss the chance to go back for a visit. It changes all the time making it one of the most diversity towns ever! There is so much history there. Be sure to visit the underground city, more history more fun facts. Great job Bill & Lisa you guys are the best!
I used to work near there at PG&E. We'd go there every week for the food trucks! I've also stayed at the hotel across the street. Absolutely great views of the Ferry Building and bay from there.
Mariposa Bakery is my lifeline since I have Celiac Disease. Their main store is in Oakland. The gluten free baguettes, "Rye" bread, the spinach tart, molasses cookies and lemon cakes are just a few of my favorites. I really enjoy going to the Ferry Building when I'm in the area.
Hi Bill and Lisa, thank you for the tour of the Ferry Building. I'm a native San Franciscan now living in San Jose. Love the Ferry Building especially during the holidays. Live life guys!!
🖖🙂 2 weeks ago, I was in San Francisco and visited the Ferry Building as well. Hog Island Oyster Co.'s Sweetwater Oysters are my favorite. If you ever have the opportunity, I recommend visiting their farm in Tomales Bay (about 1.5 hour drive from SF), where you can purchase Oysters to shuck. My girlfriend and I have made that trip 3 times and really enjoy the scenery along with the Oysters.
I visited San Francisco with my friend a couple of months ago, but unfortunately did not get to visit the Ferry Building. I enjoyed what my friend and I did get to see on our visit, but the Ferry Building is definitely going on the list for next time.
Hello, I like the fairy building built and Lisa that is a very cool place on Saturday mornings. They have that farmers market outside and the stuff that’s on the inside. Also, if you take the red and white boat or you take cruise around the bay it starts at the wharf unless you offferry building or if you’re riding electric bikes, and you ride all the way to Sausalito you can catch the ferry back to the ferry building and have a little snack and then return the electric bikes
I love SF my father lived there in the 40's and 50's, came back to MN and here I am lol. He would bring us there a handful of times and as an adult I have visited a few times. I love the pier, china town, golden gate all of the places he brought us. Also I love your shirt Lisa. LOL Who's pinky and who is the brain. J/K. Love your adventures as always.
Really miss visiting the Ferry Market Bldg. We used to drink tea at the Imperial Tea Court and wine at the Wine Merchant, and the clam chowder and seafood stew looked delicious. I prefer the brothy-type clam chowder so that looks like a must-order when next visiting the city. Sorry to see the Slanted Door is not there any longer. We liked the chicken bun at their Out the Door takeout spot next to their restaurant.
When Bill dipped his bread into his clam chowder and said "anyone want a bite of this one?" I was at home alone. On my sofa and blurted "YES!" oh geez! 😳😂
Hi Bill and Lisa. So glad you enjoyed San Francisco. When you return you might want to consider these restaurants: Wise Sons Jewish Style Deli (near the Mission district), Brenda’s French Soul Food Restaurant (in the Tenderloin), Burma Superstar (inter Richmond), and Foreign Cinema Restaurant (in the Mission District). Visit Brenda’s French Soul Food Restaurant only during the day as it’s located in a seedy part of town. Foreign Cinema is somewhat pricey but a unique and memorable experience combining delicious food and excellent service. All these suggestions can be viewed on RUclips. Best wishes.
Amazing Artisan Goodies ! So nice to see the Ferry Building Marketplace ! The Acme Breads looks so good ! Wow humongous turnover ! Yummy ! Beautiful shops ! Thank you for sharing Bill & Lisa !!!
Oooh we’ll have to check this out! So many options! Miette is pronounce like “mee ate” it means crumb in French. They also have books. I want to try them!
Hog Island Oysters are harvested in Tamales Bay along with the Manilla clams too...If you ever get a chance to visit its about 45 minutes Northwest of San Francisco...Beautiful area....Martha Stewart's favorite oysters
Clam chowder. Bodega Bay. On the water off the main street. Very good. I am with Bill as a clam chowder addict. With Lisa on her love of good seafood ❤
Do you ever feel like just staying home and chillen? hehe! i wouldn't want to either if you had the chance and means to do all of this? keep travelling and showing us all cheers from Australia .
I love oysters, although I usually get the baked version. I also ask the the shells, which they will give you. And I use them as decorations in my garden in my planters. San Fran sourdough and seafood is so good!
Another great video!!❤❤ been so long being in San Francisco back in 1998. Never heard of the ferry building. All the desserts looked good to try😊 all the food looked tasty. I remember eating at fisherman's warf back in the day. Fun to see all the eateries and fun watching you guys❤❤❤❤ cant wait for your next fun adventure ❤❤❤
You may have been unfamiliar with the Ferry Building in 1998 since it was closed for renovations during that time. In 2003, the Ferry Building reopened as a marketplace, restaurants, and public spaces.
That would be a hard choice of which seafood dish looked better at least you could sample each others the view was worth spending the extra money at that place!!!
Will be there for thanksgiving. I love Hogg Island. Go to there place where they cultivate the oysters and you can grill them right there or eat them raw! Excellent. On Tamales Bay. Worth the drive.
Hog Island Oyster is my mandatory first stop when I visit there! My youngest daughter went to university up there so I was able to visit her often. It has been a favorite for the last 10 years. Start with the oysters... please get their 'hog island' oysters next time (they actually have an oyster farm north of there). The clam chowder is easily shared by 2. Their grilled cheese is absolutely the best you've ever had. BTW, their clam chowder is the best in all of SF... they make it fresh with all locally sourced ingredients and so light on the cream which is why you can taste all the greatness of each item in it. Those other chowders in SF are so heavy on the cream and made with processed foods and artifical flavorings, making it heavy and all you want to do is take a nap after eating it. Hog Island is definitely a winner and a must go!!!! Oh, their grilled bourbon oysters are also out of this world delicious. I'm in Los Angeles... so we do visit SF often. What time of year were you there when it was that warm? Was it September during their Indian Summer? Thank you for sharing!!!!
Are you thinking of Hog Island Oyster Co.'s "Sweetwater"? That's the variety they're most known for cultivating. Those were curiously off the menu when Bill and Lisa visited the restaurant. Hog Island also cultivates the "Highwater" and "Earthquake Bay" varieties (Bill and Lisa had the latter variety in this video). 🦪
Bill, I'm kind'a intrigued by your backpack. What Brand/Model is it? The backpack I have now is no longer available and am looking for a replacement just as "perfect" as the one I have now.
That pumpkin treat looked so dry. Like a pop tart. I you want a great pumpkin treat this time of year find some Mexican Empanada's. They are so good with the type is spices in dough and fillings and soft and not real sweet.
Great job! You are making miss San Francisco! All that good food! Thanks!
$50 in an Uber! You know there is a BART station at the Airport and at the Embarcadero, right across the street from the Ferry Bldg.
wow I didn't realize how much I miss living there until I saw this video, we used to take our boat up from Burlingame, dock near the pier, have lunch and head back home avoiding traffic, good times

People born in San Francisco wouldn’t ever call the city San Fran.
@@ccordray4 Really? Wow I will pass that to many who were born there. I will however I hadn't live there all my life but I feel SAN FRAN in my heart.
I used to work near there at PG&E. We'd go there every week for the food trucks! I've also stayed at the hotel across the street. Absolutely great views of the Ferry Building and bay from there.
Hubby also worked at PG&E while I worked on Pine Street. Unfortunately, we never ate at the Ferry Building. Next time. 😎🌺🏝️🍍
@lillygirl7238 There are also great views of the bay and the bridge if you walk through the back door of the ferry bldg!
Cool. On my list of places to visit. Thank you!😎🌺
I love the Ferry Building! We used to frequent the City when we lived closer. Thank you for reviving the memories. We are now inspired to visit!
We're so happy you're inspired! It's a fun place to visit!
That clam chowder looked so good! I’ll be watching for the next one ❤❤

We look forward to trying more of their bakery items!
We would take the ferry over from Hayward where my family lived. Used to visit on holidays.
I love the ferry building! Will have to take the ferry down there soon. Haven’t been in a couple years
