Like two blokes in a pub, just talking about football, but these two played at the highest level with some of the best players to grace the game. Love it
Exactly this 👍🏼
@Alessandro Nesta in fairness it was a different role back then. If one thing Neville was it was consistent. Carragher wasn't even on Neville's level either to be honest.
@Alessandro Nesta maybe in terms of role and skill level. But half of today’s top players couldn’t compete with his consistency.
@Alessandro Nesta means nothing about this comment really. Blokes chatting at the pub have mostly been at a maximum of Sunday league level. He’s just mentioning how nice it is to see 2 former professionals at the highest level just chatting like normal people about the footy
Gary Neville was really just this 1 simple thing, reliable. There's so many modern talented footballers, way more blessed than Neville without the mentality, same goes for Carragher. That's a lost art on today's players. . If Neymar, Hazard & the Pogba's of this world had the mindset&attitude of these 2 imagine what could've been.
Amazing for Sky that these two having an informal chat for half an hour creates some of the best football content in the world!
You know there are cameras ? Informal my shiny behind. Exploitative. Heck yes.
Actually does
@@imnayhymn8706 can tell it’s a different format to the usual stuff they do tho. Obviously there’s no host like there usually is and on mnf they’re restricted on what they can speak about and can get cut off by directors. This is more of a drunken pub chat
Agree!
Don't be kidding, cameras on, and a nice pay check
Who would have thought these two would have been so close after their playing days haha. Love it.
Easy to be close when it pulls you in millions a year. I do like it though.
@@conan1567 you value money too much.
Gerrard (tongue in cheek) complaining about Gary Neville knicking Carra off him as a mate was hilarious
@@conan1567 That's why all pundits have this level of chemistry....
@@Tridentus just been thinking that myself haha on his video where he answers all the most searched questions about him 😂

We need a Carra & Nev podcast a couple times a week. Can listen to these two talk football all day.
Brilliant but Sky probably won't sanction it unless it's under their banner.
Definitely.

@@wally86_ They would have no say in the matter?
Go back 15 years who would of thought these two would not just be work colleagues but really good friends. These two are fascinating when left to just talk. Love it.
They've always been good mates even as players bud
Don’t get it twisted even back in the days all these players actually liked each other and hanged around each other
Who’s going to ever replace these two ? The chemistry they have together is incredible and are two great pundits together great and easy to watch and listen to
Roy Keane and Micah Richards are as good together if not better
They should really start a podcast, imagine the guests they could get
They have one it’s called mnf
@@Rav1611 not exactly what he was aiming for I don't think, à podcast format, comfy sofa or intimate studio, gaz and carra, celebrity guest, footballer, whatever and talking about anything and everything
Yeah they both have their own one, wouldn't be surprised if they joined forces before too long!
Neville has a podcast
They both have their own podcasts, mate and their joint one is called MNF
Rud van nistelrooy would cost a fortune in today's market. What a player.
Didier drogba would cost a fortune ! And henry !
Very true. My favourite ever Premier League striker.
He scored 20+ goals in every season except that one where he only had 17 apps (injury I think?). He had a brilliant impact even after the emergence of Rooney and Ronaldo.
glorified tap in merchant
First touch brings it down, then banggg one nil
No wonder Steven Gerrard is jealous of these 2…they’re absolutely mint together. Sky should do more of these
I love the insight from both..the respect..the understanding of the game
@@jdam8840 Watch his new google interview
@@jdam8840 Gerrard was joking about it in an interview, saying Gary’s robbed his best mate
@@Lukecaseyshaw maybe Stevie G should go to punditry, he will find a new mate there
@@franzreyes6185 that would be funny but he’s doing bits as a manager
To understand how great a player Gerrard was, you just have to look at how desperate United and Chelsea wanted him, and who were already playing in their midfield then.
@@michaelunderhill8847 Remember when Fergie was saying 'Gerrard is the most influencial player in the league' in the early 2000s? Gerrard stood out in the best Liverpool teams too with Alonso, Mascherano, Torres. Gerrard turned top goal scorer.
@@michaelunderhill8847 That would be why then when Jose went Real Madrid he only tried to sign Gerrard and not Lampard or Scholes then...
@@michaelunderhill8847 Maybe you can tell us all which player was getting dropped/sold if Fergie got his wish and signed Gerrard? Keane Scholes Beckham or Giggs. Whose place was he taking because I don't think Fergie was buying him to bench him.
90% of England fans at the time these three were playing in their prime would have chosen Gerrard first name on the team sheet. Gerrard was always England's #1 central midfielder at this time.
@@michaelunderhill8847 inter offered United a blank cheque once but Scholes turned it down
It's actually kind of strange to realise that as different as they were playing for Liverpool and United, they're actually very similar in personalities and background, a one-club defender who became the backbone of their club throughout the years. Same when you realised despite them playing against each other throughout most of their careers they equally played together for almost as long with the England team.
16:30 reminds me of Totti saying that to him, winning his 1 title at Roma was worth 10 titles at juventus. Another true one-club man
made me think of Grealish, and then they mentioned him a moment later haha
kane too hopefully🤍
i agree, but some reason kane is hated on for staying at spurs this whole time
He once said 'when have you ever heard of a child leaving their poor parents to go and live with rich strangers?'
U gotta love it everytime they both talk about transfers! 😍
This wasn't about the transfer window at all, just more nostalgia.
It doesn't say that it's about the transfer window
@@StevenTwoTwo my mistake, because it had the words transfer special in the title and is posted in the last week of the transfer window. It must be me who's being misleading.
@@noone-qg1od 😂 Nah, I'll be honest, when I clicked on it I assumed it was about the transfer window too. They could have titled it slightly differenly, but I enjoyed the video. Seen loads in regards to the transfer window, but not seen these two talking about past transfers at their clubs before. Good content in my eyes.
I wish they could bring old teams together and speak to each other on video be class
It's just classic Man United fan in Neville who keeps on about their history like anyone cares
Love how these two never overstate their qualities of themselves back when they were playing. They're always honest enough to note when other players were better than them. Usually not the case for Coaches who are now pundits
10:50 this is the nicest thing Gary has ever said to Jamie lmao
Even Jamie was a bit shocked😂
Was cute
Veron was 15 years ahead. He'd be perfect for the PL now. It's softer, more protection and suits the more 4-3-3. His passing ability was up there with KDB and Kroos but like Gary said, square peg, round hole.
Brilliant observation.
Reyes for Arsenal would be a superstar today.
Well put
Need more of this! It's always good to see what players think of other players. Which is why I wish only players voted for awards.
players would still vote with agendas or grudges lol
@@kingindanorth0072 Journalists do that now lol the difference is it would take a TON of players to sway a vote whereas right now only a couple journalists can have an agenda and sway entire categories.
Come on Jamie have Gary as a guest in your podcast we need a 2 hour special
Good shout.
Carra’s not had a new pod out for ages
Love that these two are mates. MNF and Sky Sports is gold these days
What a superb dialogue. Thanks guys. An absolute delight to hear you talk in this one.
Gary and Carra are brilliant to listen to, both sworn enemies and both legends for their clubs and only to realise in later life that they are so alike that they become good mates. Brilliant stuff from them both
I agree😎
This was amazing and I'm a City fan! Neville mentioning you can't replace passion was spot on.
This is such a good chat. Nice when they're not always at each others' throats.
10:52 So true! Passion, hardwork, desire and wanting to shed sweat, blood, and tears for your club goes way beyond talent.
10:57 is such a true point. It's what's lacking at a lot of clubs now, but also what made Sir Alex a special manager
I came to the comments just to see if anyone else picked up on that point. So true and it’s what’s been totally missing at United for years
I think rashford had that but now his ego took over and think he’s better than what he really is
These 2 are TV gold. I love the insight from Both perspectives
Can you tell me what this man said at 17:05???
So good to hear these 2. Best football pundits!
I honestly loved Berbatov more than Tevez. I don't know if it was because of Tevez going to City or not, but Berbatov brought a certain...finesse to the team. He was extremely talented and gifted. Tevez was a little workhorse, but Berba had some really world-class touches and finishes that elevated our performance. I don't think anyone will ever forget that play on the touchline to get around the West Ham defender and set up the goal for Ronaldo (and Tevez was actually in that match). Not taking anything away from Tevez, but Berbatov just captivated me whenever I watched him.
This is such a well rounded and genuine comment. A player of incredible talent that just had that ability to take a supporter's breath away
@@Reseed don't get me wrong, we've had a wealth of talent come and go through the team, but when I think back to those years, I'm glad we had Rooney, but we saw the likes of Berbatov and Van Persie come through. Rooney is world-class, but those two players just captivated me with their technical ability. Everything was calculated and precise. Of course they had their off days, but you could see exactly why they were brought into the side and how they fit into the team. Rooney to be that presence up top, Ronaldo the presence on the wing, and that special someone to be the glue between the two. That was Berba in my eyes.
My own personal opinion is that berbatov ruined the partnership of tevez and Rooney
Listen to patrice evra describe what it was like having two pitbulls up front
That season we won Premier league and champions league
That was probably Fergusons best team along with the 99 team
Berbatov was a class act but he was a bit of a failure in the end never worked out. Fergie signed berbatov and dropped tevez, we became a weaker side
I truly believe the Rooney tevez partnership was unbelievable
They performed much better together than Rooney berbatov
I just think Fergie had a fascination with the Bulgarian, he was going to play no matter what.
All the same them years were brilliant, we didn't know how lucky we were
God bless us today absolutely shocking
@@Fenian91 prem top scorer, multiple league titles, moments of magnificence, yeah, berbatov was a flop.... I'm a city fan and I'll openly admit we bought him over tevez, regardless how important tevez was to our first title, I reckon the gap would of been points and not goal difference with dimitar over carlos
@@baconrastas and so your understanding my point I taught Berba was a magnificent player for united but could have achieved legendary status
Really enjoyed this - insightful, nostalgic and honest. Thanks guys
There’s no denying how fiercely loyal Gary is to United. 👍🏻 he’d rather sit on the side not playing, than go to another club. Class.
Yeah but he said that was half the reason, the other half is he doubted he could play at the same level anywhere else so there’s a sniff of a lack of ambition and self belief if you ask me. Tbf tho I think he’s too harsh on himself at times when looks back at his career, he was better than he makes out IMO
@@PipJim80 I agree, but I don't think lack of ambition is something to always be seen in a negative light either. I think there is charm and something right about when someone knows their ambition level, achieves it and then is satisfied. I don't really subscribe to the constant chasing and being overly ambitious.
@@PipJim80 I didn’t take him saying he couldn’t play anywhere else as a lack of ambition, I took it as him being stubborn and wouldn’t cos it wasn’t United 😆 I could be wrong though.
I do agree with you on how he downplays his talent. He’s very very critical of his performance! It’s unfortunate, but it’s something that’s lacking from todays football (or so it seems) we get an apology and they carry on with their day and their mega salaries. I think there was much more passion in football past.
@@Kaspisify I don’t think a lack of ambition is always a negative virtue either, I was just saying it felt like that was part of the reason why he never went anyway else.
@@PipJim80 yeah :) and yeah you're probably spot on.
Great chemistry between these 2, consistently keeping it fresh, imo the best 2 pundits in the game at the moment.
That entire 26 minutes was class
They need to do more of this... Brilliant content... Two legends
I love that they have a passion for what they're talking about but also about listening to each others answers, they aren't zoning out at all
These two need a sports podcast of their own.
Ah this couple! Down the memory lane. I could listen to these two go on and on for hours. It's like therapy. You can see the respect they have for each other. Those were the good ol days Man! Good ol days.
Can you tell me what this man said at 17:05???
As a leeds fan I think it was the fact we got wee gordan Strachan from them that made the cantona thing feel like evans rather than getting one over on us......wgs was fantastic for us and an absolute legend!
Love it when these two have a civil conversation about the generation of football it feels amazing
Carra & Neville legends
I could listen to these two all day long. Respect guys.
Can listen to these lads talk ball all day
I could happily listen to Carra and Nev all day
Always a great watch with these two. No others in football have this chemistry on screen.
Genuinely enjoyed this video, like the "Greatest English Team Of All Time" list that they did, need to do this more often and just let these lads talk about topics of interest to them
Love this, honest open chat!
If it was honest, they’d be a lot of slander cases
Absolutely love listening to Neville and carra, also cannot wait for the next overlap episode. Sky have the best pundits in a long time atm with Micah and Keane also
Love this they should do this more they have very good chemistry
This kinda content is unreal man, keep these sort of videos coming sky, 2 legends of the game having a chat talking some serious football is dynamite
Two great personalities who know both the game and the importance of the fans. What a brilliant chat.
Could listen to these two talk football everyday of the week. There’s a level of insight that we’ve never really had before.
Really nice conversation here. Very informative and entertaining. These are the types of insights from former players that help paint a vivid picture for what it’s like to play professionally.
Whenever these two link up it produces some of the best content I swear keep it coming haha😅😅
City fans should never forget Carlos Tevez. Unlike our teams today, Tevez had the ability to win games on his own and took us to whole other level. It's a shame that the golfing and the touchline incident tarnished his career but we shouldn't forget his substitution and assist against Chelsea, goals against Norwich etc that began our fightback for the first title.
I could see these two having a Mortimer & Whitehouse kind of show. Just Carra and Nev going fishing.
I'm a Man United fan but I really like Carragher I think his a fantastic pundit and his insight is amazing
These two are the best pundits in English football ever!!! Both winners and dedicated to one club, and their views are so good
This is down the pub watching the game on a Sunday afternoon chatting about football. I don’t particularly like the pair of them but when they speak like this about football it’s brilliant
Love this. a conversation between two greats talking about great footballers in their opinion....More of this please sky sports :)
Watching these two on Match of the Day growing up, never thinking of them analysing football together. They rival, they banter and they respect what each did in the game. I love rivalry like this, same as Shaquille O’Neil & Charles Barkley.
Love these chats, could listen to these two for hours. Great insight
Ashley Cole bucks the rule of leaving a boyhood club to a fierce rival and it being the right decision. Won everything at club level and became the best LB in PL history, even though he burned his bridges at Arsenal. Hard to admit coming from an arsenal fan.
Problem is, you have to be as good and consistent as Ashley Cole was cause if your not you would get no hate whatsoever from both fanbases now.
Would it have been that bad if he had stayed? Might not have won as many medals but would still be rich and a league and club and England legend.
Instead he has that big dark stain on his record as a bit of a mercenary.
I found his comments about feeling ‘orphaned’ by his boyhood club very telling!
Give these two more air time together, could listen to them for hours
Can listen to these two all day. From absolutely hating each other to being good friends who talk with respect. Need their own podcast👍
When are we going to the see the ‘Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher Podcast’ this video was elite.
I absolutely love these two could listen to them all day
Proper players these lads, Just pure passion, not about fame or money 👍
It’s been a while but it’s safe to say Neville actually loves Carra now.
Carra has loved him for a while tho
this was a really great sit down! convo was flowing so naturally!
This is so great , please make more!

Always great content from these 2. Cole and yorke/ Gerard and torres of punditry

As a Liverpool fan it was terrifying watching Manchester Utd and Chelsea teams! Their front 4 was on a different level, couldn’t be caught!
I could listen these 2 legends all day long 🔥

Jamie Carragher «or maybe he was just trying to butter me up!» Brilliant 😂
I knew he was gonna say Veron, his side foot pass, he was like a pinball machine, you could see his class.
These two are the greatest.
Respect to Gary what he said about Keith Gillespie leaving when Cole came and he was more bothered his mate was leaving, shows what he,s about. Me a Liverpool fan praising Neville, don't tell the lads haha... YNWA
This is a beautiful conversation... thank you gentlemen, much appreciate it.

Precisely legacy, why we all love these two. Loyal, honest men with character.
Time went too quick, I'd listen to these reminisce all day...Brings me right back to my teens talking about about the Chelsea takeover and so on...
Great content. Could watch these two all day
Absolute men with that absolute football passion, proper lads from the pitch, the young ballers today should listen to these two big time, pick up on them true tokens of the game, the passion, respect and general life around it all.... Firm handshakes fellas 🤝
Drinking game: Take a shot every time Gary says ‘quite’
Just two friends talking football, like we all do. Good stuff.
These two have such a good friendship now
Brilliant as always chaps.. Gary, what a very profound point you made ‘loyalty will be reflected in your after-career’ - totally agree, look how people view Michael Owen in the media these days…
Transparency. Open conversation. Both knew their ability and passion for their club
Forlan was one of those players who was at the right club at the wrong time. Just think, a few years later we had Rooney, Ronaldo and TEVEZ ripping it up, and if you put Forlan in there instead of Tevez I fail to see how it couldn't have worked out. But the Utd side that he actually did join had a very different dynamic and one he obviously struggled to adapt to fully.
This is just brilliant to watch but it's also sad because it makes you realise these guys in football are a dieing breed.
These Two are very profesioals and créative...you live the best football...with them
