    I also knew they would pick the Le Creuset braiser because of those generous handles. But my favorite braiser is my Staub. That slightly rough black interior in the Staub gives superior browning and searing results on your meats. Staub cookware is also thicker than Le Creuset, which transfers heat more evenly. That makes for more tender braised meats. I don't have any problems with the handles on my Staub cookware even while wearing oven mitts. That said, I also have a LOT of Le Creuset cookware, and I love it. Le Creuset is designed to be thinner and lighter so it is easier to maneuver on the stovetop as well as getting it in and out of the oven. They make it in a huge selection of beautiful colors, and the classic design will look good in any kitchen. You can't go wrong with either brand. They will give you a lifetime of wonderful cooking.

    I came across an Aldi’s brand braiser, what a good buy! I have several dutch ovens by the more expensive brands i.e Staub etc, for $29 I took a chance and love it. I make stews, it goes from stovetop to oven, perfect kitchen accessory.

      Aldi is the knockoff GOAT of all things "high end". Watch Vivian Tries channel. She debunks the brands that merchandise $$$$ vs $. And she's hilarious as well. I could kick myself for buying the Always Pan when she found a duplicate at Aldi. Arggghh! Tramontina is sold at Costco and Walmart and equally comparable to All Clad.

    I never use oven mitts anymore since I discovered the Ove Glove. I have Lodge brand and it is extremely easy to lift and move around with gloves instead of oven mitts, even my husband who has larger hands has no problem lifting it with the Ove Glove. Oven mitts do not allow for use of your fingers. Hard to use your hands properly with all of your fingers squished together. I don't think you need to spend your hard earned money on the more expensive brand. Get a pair of Ove Gloves or other type that works for you and any brand cast iron that doesn't cost a fortune. I knew as soon as they kept showing the Le Creuste brand it was going to be the winner. A bit disappointing because with the cost of everything I am surprised they keep recycling old reviews.

    • @joannesmith2484
      @joannesmith2484 2 года назад

      The braiser should be lighter weight and shallower. Better evaporation and oven browning, and not as deep and clunky as a dutch oven if you're making less. I have a dutch oven and I love it, but it weighs a ton lifting it out of the low, deep cabinet where it's stored, and I'm not getting any younger. I'd love a braiser to use when I don't want to make a great big pot of soup or stew or something similar.
