My parents just returned to Canada after spending the last month in our guest house and they are now considering retiring here. OH, and if you like festivals...Tomar will be having their Festival of Trays this year. It's held every 4 years and in typical Portuguese style - they go all out. We went to our first Carnaval in Torres Vedras (wild party scene) and in 5 days :) the chocolate festival returns to the castle in Obidos. We LOVE all the festivals here...for wine, for pears, for cheese, for chocolate and of course both the religious and medieval festivals too. Music too. Have fun and happy building.

When I moved to Mexico I took just enough to get by with and then bought what I needed in addition. That moving back and forth is for the birds. !! Best of luck in Portugal!!

You should have cleaned the layer of mold off before starting the van. That mold can easily get into your lungs and cause issues! The whole van needs to be wiped down with something to kill the mold. Vinegar might do it, also bed linens and all linens need to be washed. You should completely air out van and run the heat and or ac for a period of time before spending overnight there! Your lungs are important!
I’ve heard so many good things about Portugal, especially how friendly they are to digital nomads. I’ve seriously considered moving to The Azores for that very reason. Hope it’s everything you’re looking for!

I've been doing the slow move to Croatia each time. Every time a good flight price comes up, we do the 33kg and the 22kg. Bag. Now we have like 6 suitcases that we'll have to bring back eventually...3 different sizes inside the largest. Safe travels. Welcome to Europe

You don’t have to have little coffees for breakfast,you can ask for galão,witch is a tall glass coffee with milk or a meia de leite>(late)witch is mostly hot milk with some coffee,bem vindos a Portugal,hope you feel right a home and that my people treat you right 🇵🇹🤗

My wife and I bought a property last year in Puglia in the Salento region of Italy, we possibly may relocate there eventually but at the moment its chasing the sun between Australia and Puglia!! We follow another van life couple called LEAW (Leave Everything and Wander), they currently are in a van headed for Portugal with there little one year old, think they are actually there now if you are interested in looking them up!
