I spent all Sunday afternoon on my front porch crocheting this listening to the rain and the birds chirping. What a pleasant day! Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial!! I had a lot of fun making it and will definitely be making many more. Great way to use up some scrap yarn as well. You have a very pleasant voice to listen to and are very good at explaining things simply. Thank you! Have a wonderful day 💜
Oh I wish I had found this tutorial sooner! My youngster is almost three but there are still things to make! Very good tutorial! Thanks for that! 14:21
You have a really beautiful, calming voice and you give directions so well!! I’m a beginner but your video is so clear I feel like I might be able to do this
Almost driven to tears made this bag for my daughter just like when I was a little girl n my mom made me a little crochet purse too 😍 Thx didn't knw it would b possible 🤣
Thank you so much for this video! You don't know how much this helped me. It's my first time trying crochet (I'm actually into knitting) and I'm so excited because I'm already halfway done ❤
The stitches are beautiful! Ive made one and i love it. Only that mine is getting smaller to the top. I guess it was because i didnt keep track on counting the stitches. So it was my mistake. But i really like how it turned out nonetheless
Anyone else have a hard time figuring out how to count their stitches? When she points out the single crochets at 14:44 I have no clue what she's pointing at...
Just started crocheting one month ago and I made this pretty shell bag. It definitely wasn’t as pretty as yours but I’m still very happy with how it turned out :) ps. My mom said she’s impressed with my crocheting skills 😂
Hi! I started doing the purse last night and I just finished :D I'm so happy with the result, it is really beautiful! Thank you so much for the video, it was really helpful and simple to follow
I started the little cute cross-body bag, but after a few turns on the round, I kept liking more the shells from the first row. I think the difference is that the other shells have chains on the middle, like the ones the pattern asks in row 2. Can you help me understand what is the reason for these chains? Is it to add puffiness? I'm omitting these rows, and I liked them more, the only thing I don't know is what I'm losing.
❤️❤️❤️Love this tutorial! I want to make this bigger, to make a gift bag. To do that I'm thinking to increase the starting chain in multiples of 3. Do you think that would work?
If I calculated things correctly from another comment this creator made for this, the foundation chain has to be in multiples of 6 and then add 3 more chains. So for example, I did mine with 39 chains and it came out great! Hope this helps.
Hello , I am not sure why but I am already having trouble forming a straight line at round 1 . The half double crochet forms a circle as I go down the knots . Could you kindly advise ? I am an absolute beginner !
Mine went into a perfect circle on starting first round! Loosened and tried it again pausing the video over again but it keeps going into a circle! Not sure if it's because I'm left handed? Given up
I am counting my stitches as I go. I keep coming up with 57 instead of 60. I have tried 4 times now and cannot figure out what I am doing. Any ideas? I really want to make these bags.
Hi Stevie, Make sure that you are working the first stich of each round into the correct place. I would recommend starting from the beginning again and counting your stitches as you go to make sure that you have to right number. x
could you tell me how double the size of this bag...i tried a larger hook and it worked a tiny bit...but its not shaped correctly compared to the one i did just as you did in this video. thanks in advance
I love this but the only thing I changed was the handle/strap I did a chain of 100 and then I did a row of all half stitches I have an iPhone and I put it in my original trial bag and felt as though the strap was going to come apart other than that love it
My bag is not straight up and down like yours. It appears that the shell cause into make a bow shape. I have unpicked and will try again. I am obviously missing something.
Hello Ellen. Can you tell me what kinds of yarn you used please. Cotton, polyester??? I follow her also . My name is Susie Conder from Texas . New to crocheting so need advice all the time. Thanks for your help.
@@susanconder6590 Hi there, I know for sure it wasn't cotton but other than that I'm not sure. It was wool I had left over from something else I made so lost the wrap a while back. I can tell you that it was such an easy project that you could probably use any wool you like. I'm also a beginner with crochet but found this video so helpful and easy to follow. Good luck and enjoy.
The written pattern for these crochet bags is now available! Please see the description box below the video for a link - click 'show more'.

Thank u :)
very easy to follow and relaxing to do. I decided to make 47 chains instead of the 27 to make a bigger purse and it's coming out beautiful. thank you.
Judy Gagnon that’s true
I used 47 chains as well with a DK weight cotton yarn. It's coming out great! Measures 11" in width.
Oh I wish I had found this tutorial sooner! My youngster is almost three but there are still things to make! Very good tutorial! Thanks for that! 14:21

Hey do you think it's good for a first time thing?

Just made a pretty red one. Thank you! I wanted a slightly wider strap so I just went back up the chains with single crochets. Came out great!
That is soo nice of you to teach us how to crochet

This looks so lovely. I am a complete beginner but can knit and loom knit. Going to save this video for when I learn more about crochet. Thank you

In the previous row it was 'shell-SC-shell'. Thats the SC where she puts the shell in. So a SC in the 2nd DC from the shell, and a shell in the SC
@@DeeyanaW girl that made no sense
Love this pattern! How many multiples should be the foundation chain in order to make any size of pouch using shell stitch?
Wow what an amazing bag I use it everywhere I go😍

I was wondering what the multiples are for the foundation row. I'd like to make the purse a bit bigger. Wonderful video!
Thanks a lot! This is so easy to follow. Wonderful pattern. ♥️

12:47 -beginning of round 4 (ending with a shell)
16:07 - beginning of round five (ending with a single crochet)
Thanks.. I made this with 51 chain. It's very easy and look pretty.
did you just so how she showed just more shells? :)
How do the straps hold up? Do they stretch too much? I've ran into that problem before. It's a pretty bag.
I love this little purse...made 4 of these...thank you so much for this tutorial...!!
For a stronger strap, try one cluster stitch on top of another.

Stitch a long rectangle and fold it in half. Stitch one side, the strap and the other side. Stitching the sides helps to keep the shape of the purse.

So adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you x
