My man you just got a subscriber, I have been trying to install Win server 2022 and I'm facing many challenges but your straight approach cleared it for me. Love from Egypt, brother!
Hey man, you're saving my tail with this. I was an idiot and did the ISO install on my local machine yesterday, thinking it would allow for a separate login... Nope! Had to factory reset. Thankfully it was new out of the box. Can't wait to get this done the right way. Training wheels moment, for sure. 😅
If you aren't getting the form to fill out, you didn't do it exactly the same because I just confirmed that nothing has changed. That said, the point is to get the ISO directly from Microsoft regardless of if they change what's required on their website.
I always have issue in the initial setup whenever I create VM, so I skip attaching the ISO during the initial setup and instead attaching it later via the VM’s settings. For some reason I think these are usually related to the configuration, the ISO file, or compatibility between the ISO and the VM settings.
If you are having issues, my first recommendation is to completely delete the virtual machine, repeat the steps exactly as provided and make sure you are giving the system the recommended amount of resources (cpu, ram, etc.) that Microsoft states. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/hardware-requirements?tabs=cpu
You will start to see the differences once you get into the actual operating system, but the initial setup with your hypervisor will be similar for all virtual machines.
I had configured Dhcp on server manager on windows server nd i am trying to connect it through another machine windows 10. but when i give static ip and DnS server ip it ping the server. but when i change my ip to dynamic it shows ping transmitt failure. why? can u resolve it.
If things work when you provide static information but fail when you set the system to dynamic, you probably have one of a few issues: 1. Your system either isn't receiving information from a DHCP server, which results in an IP address starting with 169. (Use commands like ipconfig to verify the settings) 2. You are receiving DHCP information from a server that doesn't know about the resources that you are looking for. (Use commands like ipconfig to verify the settings) 3. Given what you are saying, the less likely option is happening, but your network, router/switch, network adapter, or firewall(s) aren't configured correctly. I also recommend researching how DHCP and DNS work to learn more about how they work and what is required to function correctly.
I’m not sure which hypervisor you are using but there’s tons of documentation on Microsoft that came up with a quick google search. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1254192/hyper-v-easy-gpu-pv-how-dose-the-gpu-partitioning
Apple M chips require you to use an arm-based operating system, which, unfortunately, is a limitation of their use. Make sure that you have the correct version of the operating system. In the worst-case scenario, you can use the cloud to host your infrastructure.
I didn't get the easy install windows where j can select version of windows server to install. I don't see Floppy disk in hardware either in Edit Virtual Machine Settings. I don't see the Windows Server System Setup Window either
@@muhamadyusup6769 you are more than welcome to search on RUclips or Google for a video on how to do that, however, I don't have a video on that subject and I won't be providing a link on how to do it.
I'm not sure what you mean by "create a windows server iso...for my VPS" because a VPS is a virtualized server with an operating system attached to it. I recommend looking up documentation specific to whichever hosting provider you are using. It's usually very simple to load an operating system on there, or it comes preloaded based on what you've purchased.
@@JonGoodCyber yes it comes preloaded and at a cost.... So what I'm trying to do is upload my windows iso drive on the server... It's a contabo Linux server. It's quite tideous.

How did you do a factory reset?
@@ArthurJ7154 I'm not sure what you mean, as no factory reset was performed. This was a brand-new system.

Interesting…have you tried different hypervisors (virtual box, VMware, etc.)? What’s your host OS? I’ve never had that issue.

Silly question but how is this any different than the windows 11 install in VMware?

If it’s going slow, you probably need to give it more resources (cpu, ram, etc.).
