Sherry Wang I‘m 8 years late 😅 This is a very Russian thing. The flowers are usually from the audience. Before the performance, there is a counter where you can drop them off and say who are they for, and then they will be presented to the dancers at the curtain call. It’s also common to give bags with small gifts. And it’s sort of a ranking from the audience, the more flowers 💐 for a dancer, the more popular he/she is 😅 Last time I was in SPB when I ordered a taxi to go to the theatre, the taxi driver suggested to stop so I can buy some flowers 🌺. He thought it wasn‘t quite right that I came all the way from Germany to go to the ballet- but I didn‘t bring flowers to show my respect for the artists 😅

who gives them the flowers? adoring audience members or the theater itself? Or does the company arrange it?
