There use to be someone online that sold plans for these types of mini balers, plus sold one already built. But I don't have the link anymore & would like to find it again
Now that's pretty cool!!! I would put a cover up top and a feed tray in front of him with a little push "T" stick to feed hay in just in case the timing gets out of sync and I put my hand in the slot instead of hay HAHA
I'll have to refer to the owner of the machine for the detailed questions. He is a neighbor. It is a 120v electric motor, probably under 1hp. I feel like it is similar to a furnace fan blower motor. The machine is actually of some historical significance, as the original maker produced a limited number of these machines. Locally the small bales are sold for small pet bedding (hamsters, rabits) as well as for fall decoration. It can be used to bale any type of dry organic material such as straw, hay, hemp fiber etc. If I remember correctly the gentleman told me it is a scale reproduction of a turn of the century stationary baler.
Great little contraption! I'm going to ask a naive question. What is the purpose? I can see it being used for pet food (rabbit, guinea pig, hamster, etc) food production but is there anything else?
That depends on the market. If you’re all set up a a show or something, I bet people would pay as much for them as a regular sized one. Or if you’re going to somebody’s home then I think you’d have to make a bunch of them to make it worth the while
"Its pretty relaxing to just sit here and...relax away"
Spoken like a true relaxer

how much you sell the bales for?
Matthew Mier Sr. well if he get 20 tiny bales out of each regular one, and assuming a normal bale is $5, I'd levy a guess at $0.25 a tiny bale.

Very dangerous machine.
For a 2 year old yes it would be.
John deere baler
But why?
Fishing is safer. Looks like a hand crusher. Put a shoot on it, use a pusher. And keep your hand back . Too close.
Ware can I get one
Great machine, but I can’t help but see his left hand becoming part of a bale. Please tell me it is safer than it looks🥴
