Hey guys, so I've been thinking maybe I should upload more SSD/storage and cooler comparisons. I don't see these often on other similar channels, they cover mostly GPUs/CPUs. Let me know what you think, or if you have an idea for a comparison video. Peace :)
That’s a nice idea
At last someone who made a lot of real world tests instead of a bunch of useless synthetic benchmarks like everyone else. GG bro
Great video, simple and to the point
Temps would also be nice to show
The SN850 is rated at 7000/5300 MB/s
you are right, sn850 1tb has 5300 MB/s Maybe he mistaken it with the sn850 500GB version which indeed has 4100 MB/s
man you made my childhood better with your vids
awesome. saved me some $$. thx dude!
You merely adopted the darkness Skuez was born in it.
So literally no difference.
hey man i think for the SN850 it has 5300 MB/s write not 4100 MB/s like you mentioned.
you are right, sn850 1tb has 5300 MB/s Maybe he mistaken it with the sn850 500GB version which indeed has 4100 MB/s
yep ur right
I feel that these results pretty much tell you how neglible the differences are. What will matter or at least what mattered to me was the price and here the WD SN850 won my money.
Man this is a hard decision for me, both cost the same 😅
How is it holding up for you?
same on prime das it was 80 € cheaper than the samung a feew days earlyer
@@milchpulverkakao4917 Hahaha ich hab mir auch eine geschnappt ( Ich auf Deutsch geschrieben wegen dein Name lol)
@@aelosun und bist du zufrieden?
The difference is to small to notice. I just got a 980 pro 1tb. I was going to swap it out for my WD but it's not a big difference. I'm going to use the 980 pro my Kontakt libraries.
The 980 pro is 20% more expensive the sn850 the actual fuck do you mean by not noticing any dfiference
@@iamrobot396 it depends. Both ssds are always under msrp.
@@iamrobot396 tf are u smoking? i got the 980 pro for $129 both drives are around the same price at this time
@@michn5711 got a wd 850 for like $89 or so with prime
The only difference between the 2 are Samsung is usually a little more expensive AND the WD runs ALOT hotter.... Buy whichever is cheaper as long as you have proper heat sink on your board for the WD or buy the version with the heat sink if it's going inside a ps5
Bro looking into geting WD sn850 for my pc I’ve seen video about it getting hot should I get it with its own heat sink ? Or there’s another heat better ? Thanks in advance
@@smelo6505 are you using it in a desktop?
@@DirtNassty yes
@@smelo6505 as long as you have a thermal pad/strip inside your m.2 slot you'll be good to go! Not sure what board you're using but most boards these days have the heat sink over the m.2 cover and should have a pre installed thermal pad.. 👍
@@DirtNassty msi b550 gaming edge the bottom slot where I’ll be adding the 2nd ssd doesn’t have no thermal pad nothing ?…
One of the best channels.
Same price, same performace, same warranty, same tbw (600 TWB on 1TB version) And identical Performace. The choice is hard, but u will be happy with both of them xD.
That CPU is a bottleneck in some tests, for sure. Try an 8 core CPU
I mean, the ryzen 3300x it’s compatible with the pcie 4.0 and the motherboard it’s also totally compatible
@@Santiago-sv2hu when you download something from steam or compress or decompress a file using winrar, it uses cpu and ryzen 3300x is a 4 core cpu and for sure thats a bottleneck for a gen4 flagship ssd
for the asus gamin laptop wich will be better ROG G15 GA503QR ??? PLEASE let me know. thanks
Can som1 help me i am gonna buy an ssd for my laptop and i see that the wd black is hotter on temps do i need a heat sink on a laptop or that only matters if i am going to use in on a desktop or ps5 ?
So basically within the margin of error of each other
It's still takes you that long to boot to windows? Would have expected faster. My 860 evo does it at the same time
Its 7 seconds. How much faster does it need to be lol?
@@TheStoicBrowser faster ofc. 7 seconds should be reduced to at least 5
@@metalvideos1961 why such impatience?
@@TheStoicBrowser 1 word- instant
Even ramdisks can't make it much faster. It's inefficient code at booting, thus even if you add more bandwitch and more responsive disk - it's still holded back by CPU core performance and starting of many services Windows have to initiate.
The same goes for pretty much most of the games - it's not optimized for such speeds still. Direct storage should improve by a lot.
they are just neck and neck , i went to best buy and got the one they had the WD, both are great so i just got the one that was easy to get , both 350$ for the 2tb right now
Which of these fits Dell g15 gaming laptop i7 10 gen rtx 3050 model?
Both are almost equal buy the one u get at a lower price 🔥
Can anyone tell me which game he is playing in this video?
Witcher 3
Not interest this kind of game.
I'm going to load .2 second faster than other people.. eheh.. yeah...
heat sink recommended go for samsung
Personal recommendation: buy the one that you find cheaper, I found cheaper an 500gb hdd of 5200rpm
what do you recommend? the model, please
@@user-hz5eh8sv9z I recommend the sn850 cause it has 300 megabytes more of writing (5000 vs 5300) and also I see that some models of the 980 pro only reach 6600mb/s instead of the 7000mb/s
Go for the 1tb ;)
These differences are laughable. Just get a good deal on whatever.
you forgot to mention temperature 😅
But not pcie 4.0 fir tge best experience/test max. Performance
Always
Don't buy samsung it's customers service third class compare Seagate/WD
Why do you recommand not to buy samsung? Any good reason?
Внезапное сравнение)
Basically the same so go with the one that is cheaper
WD runs hotter, but yea they are pretty much the same
How about temps?
Good point... The WD runs WAY hotter than the Samsung... But the wd is a tad bit faster...
@@DirtNassty I actually just got a WD the other day. What tools can i use to keep it cooler? Is heat sink the only/best way?
@@christianespinal9913 is it going in a console or pc?
@@DirtNassty in a pc
The sn850 black has a write of 5300 not 4100 bad review
rated 7000 & i heard 6500. for real
@@sprayspree412 you sure?
