I read elsewhere someone’s wife was like 50k+ in debt I think through the husband’s credit card, so one of them declared bankruptcy and after that she’s still lavishly spending, husband can’t open no cards, and maxing all the credit cards she can get her hands on, vacations, all that. I'm 77 & when 401k's, 403b's. IRA's, etc. were started in the 1980's, I knew then that it was there to replace &
    not supplement existing ,defined pension plans! Americans should have rejected these plans initially & insisted
    that major companies continue offering pensions! I am fortunate enough to have both & now that I am retired &
    forced to take out an RMD (Required minimum distribution) from the IRA, it is forcing me into a higher tax bracket!

    • @Valmontst
      @Valmontst 4 месяца назад

      That is because many young people today have not been brought up with a mentality of saving for the future. Too many claim that they are living paycheck to paycheck, yet take multiple yearly expensive vacations, drive expensive new vehicles, live in expensive homes, and wear designer clothes and expensive jewelry. The bottom line is they spend money as quickly as they make it.
