Hey, a new terran to fanboy on. It was Bunny, Byon, then Maru and now finally TY. He's playing so terran-ly. Look at these defences scattered through all map! Every square meter taken is covered with widow mines/missle turrets/liberators/tanks/bunkers as a first action. Trench warfare as it is.
i'm guessing the previous video of ty vs classic got less views for 2 reasons: 1) its a tvp, 2) current viewer base may be less familiar with older players, especially considering they couldn't compete for about 2 years both. On the other hand I personally loved seeing them back and once again was amazed by how good they are still, after 2 years of military. Koreans are just built different when it comes to gaming i guess
What should Classic have done? Skytoss is supposed to be the hammer and he could only use it while TY had his fleet elsewhere. Tempests barely scratch upgraded Terran flying units and can't retreat or out manoeuvre anything. The Protoss army is so slow and needs to remain balled up; It can't retreat or out manoeuvre anything (sans mass recall). BattleCruisers are better than any Protoss unit and can individually teleport anywhere on the map on a cooldown half that of Recall. If he felt like it, TY could have just teleported cruisers to and from each of Classic's bases over and over and there's essentially nothing that Classic could have done to stop him.
Technically, mass Tempest / Mothership shit all over BCs. If you can get that, you can kill the BC fleet. Good luck surviving long enough to get enough of them though, since Tempests lose to literally everything else. :(
@@ZC.Andrew not true, battle cruisers can just teleport on top of tempests like with the carriers. You can try to mass recall but at some point you mess up or you run out of mass recall when you don't time it right, the Terran will eventually catch you when it's on cooldown.
@victorchen5663 It's not perfect I know. But nothing else really works when the BC fleet gets big. For supply, equal Tempests can fight BCs even if they get jumped on - with a bit of micro. The trick is not losing them to Vikings or even Marines, and you need a Mothership for the extra recalls. Creator does this to great effect vs TY, you can watch that series to see what I mean. In this game, Classic loses because Carriers are garbage vs BCs.
@@ZC.Andrew Which many terran players wouldn't just only build BCs at the high level. They are not gonna go 20+ BCs with 0 vikings since they will get sniped by mass tempests. However, the right balance between BCs and Vikings is pretty much unbeatable by Protoss' end game army.
1:40 I don't play the game, but I watch a load of it, I keep seeing these grid things on the floor like at the bottom left and I have no idea what they do, they look so out of place to just be scenery but I don't ever see anyone interact with them, so what are they?
one year late, maybe you already have your answer, but those are destructible objects that are specifically put there to nerf bunker rushing (or so i heard)
A literal showcase of why it’s time Protoss is buffed..we can’t afford to be destroyed (or else opponent is hugely up) due to being expensive but then weaker or at the most the same strength of units as other races particularly Terran. Map can play a role but then it just emphasizes how much more op Terran is by allowing more resources for both therefore widening the gap. Carrier nerf was the problem

This provided carriers with some coverage so they didn’t just die within a few seconds to mass corruptor or Vikings. Ever since that patch they became significantly worse
@@brandontobias1138 Not that simple. Players have abused that in carrier rushes. Flying the capital ship closer to units like Hydras to make sure they don't lose interceptors. In which case the two base Hydra player would certainly prefer to pick off interceptors than lose 8 hydras for only hull damage.

Battlecruisers are ACTUAL capital ships. They are good in both small and large numbers and have a powerful "ultimate weapon" in the Yamato cannon. They can move around the map or retreat quickly and have a great deal of skill expression in their micro. Carriers are garbage in comparison. Their attack is literally automated in a way that makes controlling it difficult or, in some cases, actively harmful. The carrier itself is a complete sitting duck with no way to move about quickly or defend itself. Slow and expensive, they further drain resources by having to produce interceptors that can be shot down, rendering the carrier itself useless. I really don't understand how Protoss, the high-tech race of psionic warrior-monks, have such a terrible capstone unit, especially in comparison to what the other races have.
1. Carriers cost less gas (extremely important thing). 2. Carriers take less time to produce with Chrono Boost. 3. Carriers need less structures (Rax → Factory → Starport → Tech Lab → Fusion Core VS Gate → Cybercore → Stargate → FBeacon). 4. Comes outta 3rd: you can spam Carriers easier than you can spam BCs since you don't need to attach Tech Labs to each Stargate, thus need even less gas. 5. Saved gas is used on a Sentry which effectively reduces incoming BC DPS by 1/3rd given the equal upgrades. 6. But yes, Carriers are flimsy. BCs are way more independent.

@@Josh-99 I agree but I consider Carriers needing a speed upgrade (not for free of course) rather than a new ability if Carriers could outpace Vikings and BCs and only lose to the fastest flyers (such as Phoenices and Speedbanshees) this will make all the sense so my suggestion (TBD of course) is to make Interceptors more dangerous (+1 or +2 base damage which is +20 or +40 percent DPS respectively) and make the speed upgrade for, say, 200/200@79s also making Carrier's gas cost higher (250 to 275) and build time longer (64 to 71) range upgrade would also come in handy but it's definitely gonna end up OP if not adjusted correctly

Neohumanity needs to be changed so it has one big center base with rich minerals and rich vespene, that forces players to fight over it. So if you turtle you will lose, since the other player will get more resources.
9:41 could have been 9 zealots as is or could have been 3 pylon, 3 shieldbat and 2 photons... but yer... i see how these 9 zealots was suppose to give the impact of having such a powerfull recharge station to keep attacking in from with blink.... ehem.. .. did i mention i am LITEREALLY learning the entire sc2 bot api framework to created a bot that can test all this out; bc my apm is terrible and i dont want to play undrugged :P)
add that prism and those 4 zealots as well 9:36 and we got a defence off 4 shieldbat, 5 pylon, 4 photons; supported by stalkers and stalkers able to constantly recharge on it... sooo much more worth than throwing away 13 zealots and 1 warpprism for a few workers and some apm attention in a situation where it doesnt matter. (and bf anyone says, he killed 13 svc's and left 70+ and ton of orbitals... why even do scv harass at that point? T will happily trade 2 scv for 1 zealot all day everyday... P will lose if they even do 1 zealot for 3-4 scv's at this stage....; the push right after that Should Have been backed up with 6 shieldbats, 4 pylons and 3 pohotons, to recharge them again and again as they traded super well.... they took out 7 scv's in comparison and wasn't even trying hard... if that army had that much backup of heals it would chip away on it constantly, trying to pull it into fighting within your many many shieldbats ^^
12:15 that's where he should have had that nice defensive setup; and wouldn't that just be wonderfull with 6 shieldbat healing his big HIGH shield capital shields again and again and again; ow yer and they outrange you too with tempest; so you gotta jump on them, and surely those 800 floating minerals could be turned into extr pylons, photons and shield bats. giving you a position with capital ships hanging on top within shooting range off not one but TWO important T position with an insanely heavy defence under them off; 8shield batteries(that's one per capital ship GL), 7 pylons (so no sniping pylons to unpower), 5 photon cannons (left alone it adds up dmg really fast to have 5 off them just hammering whatever is fighting above or supporting from below; a few archons in the mix and it becomes ridiculess to break; and you can just push and creep up forever with making more and more of such wide defenses as you push forward; for every viking you kill without losing anything you make another pylon or battery, for every capital you make a few photons and you keep pushing like that forever (yes ghost can emp; but if ghost are using their emps on spreadout shieldbats which you should have tons off; then they can't use it on the actual fight which is worth; pre-emptively emptying out energy has always been a tactic to T op energy users; like we've all seen the snipe ability used on 22 zerglings in a row late late game xD so yer, on anythiing :P

first game looked like one of my diamond games is super hard to poke with the tempest to the bc you need constant production of observers and oracles bc terrans are a pain lol really bad positioning with those tempest i would had gone tempest- phoenix -oracle and a hit squad of void rays
phoenixes vs bc... thats deffo trash. the only unit that can counter mass BC lategame if there are no thors, is mass voidray with speed. They can run away if you get tele on, but prismatic allignment shreds through BC if you have enough, yamato 1 shots voids so you need mass mass void to keep 1 shotting BC one at a time. Once the terran realises this, and he makes thors, you are basically dead however.
I think the real killer there is the fact that Viking 100% counter Carriers. they're also faster and cheaper. They Also counter Colossus. and standard marine medivac counter everything else protos does...
Seems quite like it, yeah. Still, no end game unit has the potential to just appear over your main out of thin air and then disappearing again 71s later. Tactical jump is slept on.
skytoss they have a good units but too costly that every unit you lose hits your bank pretty hard. while Carriers cost more than double Vikings and a pathetic air to air damage. While vikings is cheaper and can be produce faster with reactors, with vikings in mass they can murder every carriers, void rays and tempest. And the BC tactical jumps limits the movement of those sky units.
Man what a series by TY. Haven't watched SC2 for a few weeks but terran mech is always fun to watch. This encourages me to play the game again but at the same time discourages me aswell because it directly makes me realise how bad I am and how many hours it woul cost me to become decent enough at playing the game 🥲
He is. Massive defense, fleet waiting for command, then fly over to destroy a Nexus (pushing out the turtle's head) and then retreat, rarely confront the opponent directly. However I admit TY is one of the least passive Terran players out there.
NTFT = NERF the frikkin' Terran. I managed to beat a BT fleet once using a Stalker-Tempest combination, but it required a huge micro and even some hallucinations. BTs become annoying, so you send your army against them - and then they disappear. And again and again. Some work to be done for Blizzard.
Terran broken. BCs need longer cooldown and viking should do less damage to armored flying units. Also, Terran lift should not be so easy to just lift a CC to a next expansion.

Carriers haven't even been nerfed though. They're just as powerful as they were back in 2021 and that says something.

yah Vikings are very cost efficient and can be build faster than the skytoss counterpart. tempest with splash can make a difference

first game looked like one of my diamond games is super hard to poke with the tempest to the bc you need constant production of observers and oracles bc terrans are a pain lol really bad positioning with those tempest i would had gone tempest- phoenix -oracle and a hit squad of void rays
phoenixes vs bc... thats deffo trash. the only unit that can counter mass BC lategame if there are no thors, is mass voidray with speed. They can run away if you get tele on, but prismatic allignment shreds through BC if you have enough, yamato 1 shots voids so you need mass mass void to keep 1 shotting BC one at a time.
Once the terran realises this, and he makes thors, you are basically dead however.
I think the real killer there is the fact that Viking 100% counter Carriers. they're also faster and cheaper. They Also counter Colossus. and standard marine medivac counter everything else protos does...
Seems quite like it, yeah. Still, no end game unit has the potential to just appear over your main out of thin air and then disappearing again 71s later. Tactical jump is slept on.

Has been for a long time, at least the least consistent.
skytoss they have a good units but too costly that every unit you lose hits your bank pretty hard. while Carriers cost more than double Vikings and a pathetic air to air damage. While vikings is cheaper and can be produce faster with reactors, with vikings in mass they can murder every carriers, void rays and tempest. And the BC tactical jumps limits the movement of those sky units.

Man what a series by TY. Haven't watched SC2 for a few weeks but terran mech is always fun to watch.
This encourages me to play the game again but at the same time discourages me aswell because it directly makes me realise how bad I am and how many hours it woul cost me to become decent enough at playing the game 🥲

He is. Massive defense, fleet waiting for command, then fly over to destroy a Nexus (pushing out the turtle's head) and then retreat, rarely confront the opponent directly.
However I admit TY is one of the least passive Terran players out there.
NTFT = NERF the frikkin' Terran.
I managed to beat a BT fleet once using a Stalker-Tempest combination, but it required a huge micro and even some hallucinations.
BTs become annoying, so you send your army against them - and then they disappear. And again and again. Some work to be done for Blizzard.

Terran broken. BCs need longer cooldown and viking should do less damage to armored flying units.
Also, Terran lift should not be so easy to just lift a CC to a next expansion.
