Hi,your Alpacas are so cute, you said about learning to inject them, a trick to practicing is to inject oranges, that's how my mum was trained and how I practised.

Alex use to work in a health clinic so he is actually use to giving shots... Me however I will take your advice and practice on the oranges! Thanks for the tip!

Before watching this video, I assumed alpacas cost ~ 2k each. Actually, 5k for 2 livestock animals and all the accouterments doesn't sound that bad, especially considering ongoing tax breaks.

We assumed the same I think we were more surprised most of the money went to setting them up vs the actual alpacas!

How do you afford your homestead, animals, Nice wedding etc?

Both of us have full-time jobs we both have about an hour commute to those jobs each day so it definitely isn't easy. One of us might be able to quit or go part-time if we can get our homestead infrastructure finished and our house fixed up. We are also currently following the Dave Ramsey Baby Step Program to help us get to that position and we try to cash flow everything without going into more debt.

@@MountainViewHomestead That sounds like a lot, especially with a new baby. Hope you can take it easy.
