Dang this video makes me want to get this even more. The lighting at the beginning for unboxing and showing different modes on the controller was great as well!
I own both yuan con and faucetwo controller the biggest flaw for facuetwo is that their dampers are terrible my didnt last for 1 month and it's a pain to replace them due to the fact how many amount of nuts are there for the knob holder. Despite that I like how it's light to carry unlike yuan con who uses metal. Yuan con uses chinese rotary encoders and despite they dont use photsensors they are surprisingly durable i used it for 2 years no damage yet and it's very easy to replace them.
Hey, thank you for the review. How is the controller now? I was surprised the shipping took some weeks for the US, although I am in SEA country hopefully It'll ship fast because school is coming up and I have to save up for it. If I was to save up for more..what customizations do you recommend so that it will last long?
I haven't had any issues with the buttons, but I still have the issue of the knobs being slightly off that I mentioned in the review. In terms of which knob option to get that would last longer, I've heard a lot of people say that the default knob (what I have) would last longer. I can't say for sure how the arcade knobs would be on this controller, but I can say that I have played an arcade cabinet using those arcade knobs that wasn't in the best condition. As far as I can tell, I am the only person who has had those issues with the default knobs. I have not had any issues with the default DJDAO buttons. I did choose the Omron switch over the Honeywell because I have heard people saying the Honeywell won't last long. In terms of the spring and switch configuration, I would probably prefer 100g switches and 60g or 20g springs. I think I got the 60g springs on the button and the 50g Omron switches. When I played the arcade cabinet, I think it had a snappier feel to the buttons due to having heavier switches and lighter springs. Hopefully this helps.
I have my F2 almost 6 months, but no knob wobble at all (like mine are as solid/stiff as when it arrived) so I'd really contact Gamo2 if I were you. I'm not going easy on the knobs either! Also, the dampening sheets wear out pretty fast, about 2 to 3 moths for me. The spinning metal cylinder of the knob will chip away the middle part of the sheets little by little until so much has chipped off that your knobs will spin like crazy. Almost 6 months in, now I really regret I didn't take the Sanwas, but oh well. If they ever release a new controller I'll go for Sanwa straight away!
Thanks for the info! The knobs in my controller still do feel stiff, they just rotate irregularly. When taking off the back panel on the controller, I can also see the encoder disk move side-to-side from that irregularity. In terms of the dampening sheets, I'll probably try casting some silicone in a 3d printed mold rather than paying for shipping. I might post an update on it if I do that route.
@@RequireWire Please let me know about the custom sheet. If we could exchange contact somehow I can provide you with a picture of how a sheet looks like that has been degraded so much to be needing replaced. I'm playing like 1 to 3 hours per day, mostly 17s and 18s. The first time I had to replace I was still at 16s, so that lasted a month or 3. Now at 17/18 I burn them up in no-time. I'd really contact Gamo2 about your knobs though, mine are rock solid and no wobble at all (also on the inside of the controller, perfectly stable no sign of any wobble).
When purchasing, there is an option for "BT button light color" and "FX button light color" where you can change the color to be blue, red, yellow, pink, white. Blue is the default for BT buttons and red is the default for FX buttons. I believe they use a standard arcade button LED and you can swap them around or change them out to different lights easily in the future.
Now that it's been a year is the purchase still worth it? I love rhythm games and randomly found this game. I looked into it and saw the sick controller and gameplay. Now I'm just deciding if I should dive into this game or not
I don't play on this controller as much nowadays because I have been going to the arcade to play it more frequently than at home, however, if you see yourself getting deep into this game, I would say getting a controller is a good investment. If you're on the fence about it, I would recommend going to an arcade to try it first if you haven't already. You can go to the following website and search for the game to find arcades near you that have it: zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/arcades.php Hopefully this helps you decide!
I mapped those to be the fx buttons at the bottom. Since this controller isn't made for that game, you aren't able to play every chart due to not having enough buttons (cannot hit the double notes).
It took 15 days from when I ordered it to when the controller was shipped, then another 11 days for it to arrive, so about 26 days total. That time might be faster now because when I ordered it, the site said arrives in about 8 weeks, currently (when writing this comment), the site says about 4-6 weeks. When you order the controller can also impact the delivery date because Gamo2 sometimes closes for certain holidays. You can watch the Gamo2 twitter page for updates on that.
I did get an email telling me that the "order has been completed" and that email contained the tracking number. Between the time of ordering it, and it starting the shipping process, I didn't really get any info from the site or other emails and just had to wait for that order completion email. Hopefully you can get information about your order soon.

How'd you do the slider notes in project diva?
