Hello and welcome back all my dragon ball theorist, there has been a fan story called Dragon Ball Hakai in which Zeno needs to pick a new God of Destruction to replace Champa. I think this idea made for a very interesting story Arc. However I want to put a twist on this idea under the basis that either Goku or Vegeta need to decide for themselves on who becomes God of Destruction. The reason for this is, I do believe that all mortals have free choice on accepting the roll. After all it's a big decision to make a commitment to completely abandon your mortal life forever in
order to be a destroyer of worlds to balance the Universe.
Furthermore we have seen even Gods of Destruction do indeed have a choice, as Belmod can make the decision to retire and even seek out a suitable replacement without the permission of anyone. In fact not even the Grand Priest was aware of Belmods decision to retire. When all the Gods arrived at Zeno's palace in DBS Manga chapter 28, The Grand Priest inquires about who the gentleman behind Belmod was? This is the first time Toppo was introduced and Belmod goes on to formally let them know that he does plan on retiring. That Toppo is his candidate to replace him and just happened to be with him training at the time when they were called to the palace. Without any further questions, The Grand Priest just acknowledges it and tells Toppo to work hard to become a great God of Destruction!
Even though Belmod hand picked Toppo to replace him, in the end it was still Toppo's choice as we saw at the Tournament of Power. After being almost eliminated by Frieza and Android 17 Toppo had to make a conscious decision to commit to becoming a God of Destruction and upon doing so, he would transform into his God form right before our eyes. To eliminate any confusion on what has happened Belmod states, "Having made up his mind, Toppo is no different from a God of Destruction."

Awesome video. I think Piccolo would make a very good GoD. Calm, collected but tactful and ruthless in battle. He also has a host of special abilities that would compliment his destruction energy. He has a good understanding of good and evil, life and death and I think his judgement is good.
Thanks and I agree Piccolo could definitely fit into that type of role very well and likely help the mortal level of the Universe increase.

You couldn’t give Goku enough food in the universe to make him be the God of Destruction. It will definitely be Vegeta
Before watching this video I would have said Vegeta but now it makes sense that Goku would actually be better perhaps

Goku is already at a level of god of destruction, if not even stronger, i don't see why he would want to become one, besides picking fights with other stronger beings.
Learning new techniques all over the universe as well as perfecting destruction energy. Also training with Vados who trained Whis. I think Goku is a good candidate and doesn't mind spending time away from home to fulfill God duties when he also gets training.
They should be chosen at the same time Goku God of Destruction of Universe 6 Lord Goku is right for him Vados will be teaching him Vageta God of Destruction of Universe 7 Lord Vageta
everything in the universe comes in pairs, just like beerus and champa and the angels etc so both of them

In the process of turning into god of destruction, Toppo hakai'd his fat.
I think they both would but vegeta would want to keep his friends and family in his universe.
Vegeta would be a better god of destruction because he kill before and it fits him his decision on destroying would be Justifiable but kakarot he would still try to find away around not destroying
Why the choice is limited to Goku and Vegeta? Brolly has great potential for destruction. Unlike Goku and Vegeta, he doesn't really have any family or values that would hold him back for this role. Remember, Vegeta didn't want to even attend any tournament, while Bulma was pregnant. He wouldn't leave his pride or family aside for the destruction position. Goku has literally never killed anyone besides Buu. Making Goku a destroyer god would go against everything he stands for, so I can't see him take on the role. Brolly the destroyer god has a nice ring to it. The legendary super saiyan god!
It was just a twist of another story (Dragon Ball Hakai) where Zeno would choose between Goku and Vegeta who would replace Champa so that is why I limited it to them. To then go over why it's usually their choice to decide and who likely would. Good point about Vegeta when Bulma was pregnant and was thinking about situations like that when making this vid. Broly could be a destroyer but think he needs a lot of work. He either is very passive or about to destroy everything so needs a middle ground.
I do think Goku can be a God of Destruction though which ends up happening in the other story.
Broly is literally the nicest Saiyan, he's never killed anyone. I don't see him as a good god of destruction right now at least.
The GoDs have to leave their mortal life behind, but could still visit their loved ones in Otherworld, so it's not too bad.

Honestly i couldn't see either of them ever becoming a GoD. Goku and vegeta wouldn't abandon their mortal lives or their family unless they had to. And why would they need to if they keep growing and get to that level, they can have the power and still have their mortal lives

I would say Goku would make a decent destroyer, I see him not actually destroying anything unless it is the last option, but rather reform evil. Vegeta would be more like a traditional destroyer.
