Good evening everyone! Welcome or welcome back to this week’s meals of the week folks :) I hope you’ve all had a good week! I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while :)
I love to watch your videos every Sunday. Brings me right back home to Scotland. I’ve been in the US now for 60 years, but I still miss my home.
I grew up in Newfoundland and your Monday dinner is called a cold plate there. Very popular for church dinners, takeout and hot summer days. Some of the items with the cold meats, potato salad and coleslaw might include pickled beets, jellied salad and tomato aspic with home made rolls and butter. 😋
MI, same, a cold plate
@@LindaC616 Living in Manitoba now but originally from Alberta my mum always called it a salad or a cold plate. 🇨🇦
It’s called a cold plate in the UK too.
I’m in Ontario. We would always call it a cold plate. Back in the day, restaurants would often have it on the menu and it was a favourite of mine to order. I could make a whole meal of cold salads and pickles, any day of the week.
In Ireland today we have sunshine in between the showers as well.
I would call it a cold plate. Looks delicious 😊
Love your 'salady thing'. Looks perfect for a warmer day meal. And I shall definitely look out for that ham in Sainsburys. Another whole week of practical and tasty meals!
I always look forward to this video. My meals of the week were -
Monday - McDonalds; Double cheese burger, chips and coca cola.
Tuesday - Chicken curry and rice with garlic and coriander naan.
Wednesday - Left over curry with rice and some chips.
Thursday - Sausage, mash and beans.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Beans on toast with grated cheese.
Sunday - Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots and gravy. Raspberry pie and vanilla ice cream.
I haven't been to McDonalds in such a long time! 🍔😋
Raspberry pie!? 😋
@WhatsForTea do you have Wendy's, Cheryl? They've an orange vanilla frosty arm that's very, very good, and I don't even like sweets much. With some dark chocolate chips, it would be even better!
@@LindaC616 Raspberry pie is very tasty.
@@qwertasdcfghjklmo24z I have never had it, but I'm almost certain you are 100% correct!
I'm in Atlantic Canada. We would call this a cold plate. I get one for lunch on the one day a week I have to work at our office. It always has potato salad, coleslaw, macaroni salad, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pickles, and some sort of cold meat like rolled deli ham and turkey, cold roasted chicken, or sometimes chicken salad on a roll.
LOL corn holders for those baby corn!
Your salady thing looks awesome 👏
🥰
Everything looks so delicious. ❤
The picky picky plate looks soooo good.
Your meals all look so good! Chicken Supreme 😋 I take ravioli and boil them, then layer with everything I use to make lasagna. It is called baked ravioli and it is so good!
Love the salad thing..we have ours with mash potatoes..it lovely.
Ravioli doesn’t like me nor does lasagna..!
We’re coming up to Scotland soon..it’s over 600 hundred miles for us…we couldn’t be much further away!! Hope the weather improves..
Love all the meals as usual…🏴👍🏴
Its nearly 11,000 miles to Scotland from here, so I guess you could be much further away.
@@bradcarby3765 I meant still be in the UK and be so far away…obviously you can be the rest of the world…
@@bronniepaterson4694 I know mate, I was just messing about. Take care.
In the states we call that mix of salads and meats a cold plate.
Meals look amazing. I have never tried the vegi burgers but they look good. Thank you so much for the shout out ❤
Hi from Canada , love your posts never miss, everything looked great this week .😊
Thank you so much for watching Rita! It's much appreciated...love to Canada 🍁
I love the Sainsbury’s Drury Lane ham. It’s reasonably priced but a great texture and taste (not ‘wet’ ham, as my husband calls it)
It really is Maggie! I'll be looking out for that again 🤗
It’s often on offer too!
Yummy looking Salad Plate, yay for a bike ride and picnic, I love Ravioli, I love your chicken with Salad and chips, I have some Black Bean Burger in my freezer, OOOOH Chicken Supreme with rice and white sauce, I love a steak once in a while too. I love ya.
Everything looks delicious! Thank you for the dinner ideas, Cheryl!
Everything looks delicious, Cheryl. Thanks for another great video.
Everything looks delicious as always Cheryl
Cheryl, absolutely adore you and your content. I live in Texas but get to the UK as often as i can- at least once a year and i am DYING to try those McCain jacket potatoes that are in the freezer section. I can’t think of anywhere here in San Antonio that sells anything similar and i do love a good potato. So many things to try and so little time when i am there. Thank you for all your recipes, i am enjoying making what i can here. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
I love this channel so many great ideas and recipes 💙
Ooohh Cheryl, it all looks so good! That salad thingie really looks scrumptious 🤤
That salad plate looks delicious!
Similar weather out here in Washington state, USA. Going from shorts weather to fleece and hoodie and back again. Everything looks delicious this week though - perfect for spring.
I love a wild mushroom ravioli with a smoky red sauce. Delicious!
Good morning Cheryl. Hope the weather is nice for you today luv. Your Sunday dinner looks delicious I was ready to eat it through the iPad it looked so good 😊😂. All your meals looked delicious. Have a wonderful rest of your day/evening. See you soon. Bye for now.❤❤❤
Hiya! The weather has been a bit up and down my friend! Quite chilly tonight, but lovely yesterday! 😂
In America, we call that first meal a " Cold Plate".
That steak dinner looked amazing! 😋 Its a holiday weekend in the U.S., so I am going to a cook-out and will be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken!
Oh that sounds amazing! Sadly we don't get many BBQ friendly days here 😭😭😭💙
The food looks delicious this week, I loved the ravioli and steak meal. The jacket looked so crispy. Really nice and good ideas to try 😊
Lovely meajs Cheryl, whether it's a picky plate or a salady thing, it looked so nice. A bit of everything is what I like. That chicken suprene looks nice I will have to.look out fir that 1 , I've got a chicken chasseur mix & a chicken & leek mix in the cupboard nice & handy to keep in the cupboard & both very tasty. You even make you ham & tomato rolls look so tempting !!
The ravioli looks lovely xxx
I call that salad type meal a Smorgasbord. Great meals as per usual Cheryl, gave me some great ideas, I especially fancy that ravioli lol. Thank you for sharing xxx
I'm going to try the potatoes that you used in your final meal.
It's been the same here in America it's either pishing down rain, severe thunderstorms or boiling hot. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a hot rainy summer.
pishing down 😂😂😂 same here!
Wonderful dinners.
Hello Cheryl, what a lovely week,,in malta its very hot so I do alot of salads,,ur steak looks good too,,also i like d chicken supreme,,that gives me alot of ideas, thanks x
How do we get a reservation for dinner ❤❤😮😮❤️❤️❤️😃😃
😄👍
@HopeLaFleur1975 my thoughts exactly😂😊 😋
Cheryl, thanks for sharing, everything looked delicious as usual. You have a very well fed family! 🙂😋❤
Just a wee coffee for you and Mr. Whatsfortea ;-) Always a pleasure to watch your videos, thank you!
Oh amazing! Thank you so much 🤩😯👍
It’s funny that Mr. What’s For Tea likes his steak so well done. I say funny because for my steaks I like them almost mooing, but for hamburgers I also want them very well done. I’m Canadian but I noticed that a lot of Americans want their burgers medium rare or rare and I just can’t do that. So I cant fault Mr. Tea for his taste in steaks. 🥩🍔🇨🇦
I'm the same way. I want my steak to be slightly pink inside but I do want hamburger at least cooked. If I see the inside of a hamburger is pink, it puts me off. I don't need them burned, but they do need to be finished. Someone said the other day on a video that they want their steak "just take off the horns wipe its a$$ and put it on a plate". 🤢
@@LindaC616 I like my steak slightly cooked more than that but just slightly and I want the outside charred! I think the way it’s described as Black and Blue. But if I see the inside of my hamburger look like that I can’t eat it. I know. I am very weird. 🤣
@@BrowneyedGirlmjd well we are together in our weirdness!😄
Love your meals! Shared on Facebook
Aw thank you so much!! 🤗
3:16 I prefer whole leaf lettuce, but otherwise everything looks delicious!
Love your videos each week
Looks delicious! Yum! 💜💜💜
Gosh some lovely dinners this week Cheryl , will have to try and get some of that Drury Lane Ham from Sainsburys , it looks yum 😊❤😊❤😊
Definitely look out for the ham Linda! We really liked it ☺💙
All looks amazing
As usual yummy meals Cheryl 😊😊
In my house, we call it a 'happy plate" 😊 Put on your plate whatever makes you happy!
Hugs
British Kate in New York
The steak dinner looks delicious Chery x
The ham is my favourite it’s so nice 😊
Hi Cheryl, the Chicken Supreme looks so delicious! 😋Thank you and have a good week!💙
Have a fab week ahead! 🤗
Your tomatoes always look so tasty. Our supermarkets don't have such things unless you go to a specialty shop and pay a lot. I would grows my own, but have a huge aversion to creepy crawlies
Wow yummy and tasty mouth 👄 watering recipe ❤best wishes for you 👍 God bless you 🙏
All the meals looked yummy Cheryl.🤤
That steak plate 🤤🤤🤤wow thank you 🏴🏴💪💪🏴🏴
The salady thing, I would call it a ham salad - ham is the meat part, so it’s a ham salad - whatever meat you put in, it’s a (named meat) salad! Bit of a nightmare if you don’t put some sort of meat on it and just have the salady bits!
Hi Cheryl, I enjoy ravioli too. Your meals looked lovely. Gale x
Oh! My the ravioli looked fabulous.
Ooh another Janiece? Well close i am Jeniece.
My fav ravioli is Beet and Goat cheese or butternut squash Ravioli.
Hi Cheryl ~ I’m sorry I’m so so late. Commenting~ but on Tuesday I saw the multiple sclerosis at the local hospital and my secondary progressive multiple sclerosis has progressed further so this weekend has been hard but loads of family have been around and the staff management and nurses have been amazing - as you know I love my Sunday nights as I know your Vlog/video comes out and I normally comment very early on - I hope you have a brilliant week and I look forward to the recipes this week and again next Sunday ~ loads of love and loads of hugs as always ~ Xxx Xxx
I'm from Ontario Canada and we would call that first meal a "Cold Plate". It looked quite inviting.
All looks very delicious, cannot agree about the steaks though! Medium-rare for us!
Here in America what you call a salady thing we call a cold plate.
Oh I like the sound of that 💙
Good evening Cheryl, thanks for sharing your delicious looking meals of the week once again. Everything was beautifully presented as always, and yes I’m with you, would definitely describe this as a salad, at least that’s what it was always called both here in Scotland & Ireland when I was growing up … maybe we should call it a abBritish salad. Today’s steak dinner looked first class!😋👌 Take care & hope you have a lovely week ahead. xx 👩🏻🍳👌🍽️💕💞🩷
Have a fab week ahead David 🤗 lovely to se you as always.
@@WhatsForTea You too my friend!😊🫶
Lovely meals Cheryl!
Hi we call it a cold plate
Thanks Cheryl 🙂
Evening Cheryl!
That is some salad plate Cheryl!
Those steaks look FABULOUS!
Mustard Mayo?!! Sounds perfect, is it Hellmans?
*An absolute Joy to watch 💯😋😋😋👌*
Good meals again
I really need to try your tuna mix here soon. It does sound brilliant with the sweet corn plus I have some tuna I need to use up.
Scottish Beef Steak - the best!
Loved your meals! Question- do y’all ever eat sweet potatoes?
Hi Cherly , I love your videos just to let you know that aldi is now doing tuscan sausages . My ho well with the pasta you shared thabk you for all your posts xx
Oh I'll need to keep an eye out for them! Thank you Jennifer ☺
Are they chicken or pork?
@LindaC616 hi, they are pork . Currently on special buys in aldi x
@jenniferjack8785 thanks! I'm in the US, so who knows what we will get? There were some Irish sausages around the time of Saint Patrick's, but I went in a little bit too late to get them after thinking about it.
England today is sunny but has not stopped showering it down all day lol. Good old British weather eh lovely ❤❤. Your part of Scotland looks beautiful. Ive never been. Where would you recommend? Xxx
Hi Christina! ☺ Scotland is so different from one City or Town to the next...it really depends what you're looking for! For shopping or a city break, I'd recommend Edinburgh 💗 but for scenery...I'd go far North around Fort William & Glen Coe. I'd always recommend the Isle of Arran on the West coast (where I am) It's known as Scotland in miniature 💙
@@WhatsForTea that sounds beautiful. Better start saving lol. Thanks so much 👍. Hope you're well xx
I have a friend near Aberdeen who sends me a calendar every year. Lately, she tries to send me Bennachie and other places around her, but in the past she has sent me calendars of the whole country, and I concur with Cheryl that Glencoe looks beautiful!
@@LindaC616 thanks sweetheart xxx
@@christinamillington2342 you're welcome! I can't wait to make it back again. I went for 10 days last time and it was too short
Picky plate?? I'd call that delicious! Pass the blue cheese, please!
Yuuummmm!!!!!!!!!!!
🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄 LOL
All lovely food once again😊💕
Aw thank you lovely....you were missed in Louise's chat today ☺💙
@@WhatsForTea sorry I busy exercising 😆 🤣 I did watch Louise's live stream I've just finished it I'm going to tell her lol

Victoria Jane is a lovely girl. Been following her channel for a few years.
Monday was picky bits
Picky plate sure that works.
but that is also very clearly "girl dinner"
🤤🤤🤤😱 YUUUMMY
cold plate
For some reason I seem to be coming up under an old account 😅 but it’s me (Ted’s girl UK) still here 😂 Oh, I’m a new account it says! Oh well
Why don’t you freeze your herbs in ice cubes like everyone else does?
🖐🏻👍
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
🇿🇦❤️❤️❣️
A good week. The sandwiches - dire but the meals, not bad.
I'll take that as a compliment from you 😂
no kidding ....
Question, I’m in Edinburgh, what time do you eat your Sunday tea? It’s only 6:25? Do you do it for dinner time, or is the your actual tea?
Hiya ☺ it depends...usually between 4:30 - 5:30...but earlier on a Sunday 🙂
@@WhatsForTea does that fill you up till the morning, or do you have pudding after? I’d have to have something round about 8 if eating that early. Xx
👀 😋 🍺 👍
☺🖐
🤤🤤🤤🤤👍👍👍👍👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
