I just started all my cucumbers and squashes last night. I'm almost done! Only corn and beans left to go. Why wouldn't the town want you to do a plant sale?

Great video ! I am using the Spider Farmer SF1000 for my tomato seedlings. I am getting a purple color on the underside of the leaves. Have you come across this issue before ? The canopy of the plants are currently 6 inches from the light. During germination the plans were 12 inches from the light. If you have any advise on the distance of the light from the canape that would be of great help . Keep up the good work and thanks for the response to my other inquire .

purple on the underside of the leaves is pretty common and not anything to worry about. As long as the top of the leaves look fine and don't look damaged it should be good. Do you have the light at 100% power? How high you have it really depends on what the dimmer is set to.

@@gapey I am running the light ( dimmer ) at 80 %. Each shelve is 2 feet wide X 5 feet long with 1 Spider Farmer SF1000 providing the light . I have also used VIVOSUN 6 Mil Mylar Film to wrap the shelve all the way around.

@@abbiehoffman135 I checked my Spider Farmer SF1000 at 80% and it looks like about 15" should be ideal mine reads at 400 PPFD with my Apogee light meter at that distance so I think your plants may be too close to the light at 80% power.

@@gapey Thanks I will try that. So basically I can run the light at 80 % at 15 inches above the canopy. I am assuming that I can lower the dimmer as the plants grow ? Or do I have to keep raising the light ? The shelves are not the easiest to move up or down. Thanks for your replies !!

When will you start hardening off your peppers? I have some of mine in a garage and put them outside during the day. I’m afraid I may have stunted their growth.

Good question. It got down to 31 degrees F last night so still too cold. Should start warming up though. I might bring them out next week. I have started hardening off tomatoes but keeping peppers inside for a little while longer.

What's your favorite type of peppers to grow? I'm trying a few new kinds this year...aji charapita, giant marconi and others🌱🌱💚💚

I really like the Baccatum varieties. They have good fruitiness and are super productive. My tangerine Tiger is my favorite. I also grow Korean gochus every year and they are another really productive varietiy that has a lot of great uses.
