Dr Octagon - Blue Flowers (Photek Mix) Quality D&B remix from Photek. It's probably fair to say the DJ Hype remix was more widely played, but this is better in my opinion.
I started listening to Kool Kieth when the drum n bass remixes came out, it took me 22 years to realise he is referencing substance d from A Skanner Darkly. Philip K Dicks greatest novel .
Photek love. Octogon love. They meet here. Possibly no time taken. No photek subtlety. No octagon weirdness. Yet is all we have.. Enjoy however they met. All we can do. :)
Photek is just so damn tasty to listen to! Dan the Automator and Photek and Kool Keith's Octagonic Voodoo Curse? I can now say that I have had a full life and can now die in peace. I shall rise up a zombie with Jimi Hendrix as the melody man. Therefore the apocalypse 'n junk! Great song!
It sounds muffled, there's little top end on it. Surprising considering it's by Photek. Definitely sounds dull though, and is really noticeable when compared to the other mix on the same vinyl, namely the DJ Hype remix.
technically (although intelligently programmed) this wouldnt be categorized under the term "intelligent dnb" that was more a term used to describe the atmospheric dnb of the mid 90s ie: good looking records - logical progression sessions etc if you need a point of proper reference
*some journalists of the time also refered to it as coffee table jungle, im not to disappointed that neither term really stood the test of time tbh lol
those beats are straight off of "modus" i wish he'd did more like this,a bit more funk and flava i listened to operandi recently and it was pretty boring in places tbh i still love it but it's not aged as well as say entroducing by shadow
I'm head over heels with these grooves str8 banging my stereo to this octagon office funk
office funk!
signature Photek drum programming right here...love it!
Still pop the vinyl of this on from time to time. Timeless.
Never knew there was a Photek remix of this. Funky but a bit darker than the Hype remix I'm used to hearing. I like it.
Anyone remember Acid dummies? Glow sticks? White gloves? Hi-Vis jackets? This tune brings it all back! Long live the 90's!
this is the version of Blue Flowers, that counts ... classic
nahh not really kinda boring imo
I'd count as classic because of it's DnB and remixer PhoTek. Sure it isn't an altogether DJ Skillz cut. But is proper for it's style.
Besides, who mixed the original beat, Kid Koala? (Just asking, not debating here)
@@NLB90805 This is a mix of Photex "Ni Ten Ichi Ryu" I think, that beat is unmistakable.
@@jackporkins41 That would be the unforgettable "Ten Sword Technic" - they had made a video for and would appear on Mtv's AMP?
Hop skip jump, left, right, swaying ❤️✨✌️
I like the room ambience on the drums

According to this interview it's not a reference.

Whether you choose to believe him is your affair...
Can’t make sense of any KK rhymes aha
Photek for the car, Hype for the dance floor IMO, but enjoyed both equally
Massive Photek fan but Frankie Boyle just brought me here
Photek love. Octogon love. They meet here. Possibly no time taken. No photek subtlety. No octagon weirdness.

Lovely break right here.
Photek == ninja_ of_beats;
:D
this is dnb heaven
This has 20K views and regular Kool Keith tracks have like 1500 views. This universe is weird.
2020 still here
Good find
where's this gone? we need it back like now!!!!!
Waiting list + photek ufo.......imagine.....
Waiting list so good is taken off of RUclips.

Underrated

That's the prince paul remix! You can find it on youtube
Big tune! Cracking upload.
classic photek. all over this like his brown paper bag remix

Class
Dam reminds me of my acid days
mad tune
Why don't the world understand? Nice Slappy...
Chingon!!
this is the best mix of this tune...they call it "intelligent" drum and bass for a reason
Keith Marley - I wonder if that is part & parcel to IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) and it's association to "Ambient" and/or "Chill Room" Music?
No they don't. Well nobody talks to those people at parties at least.

cuz this shit is super fuckin dope, apparently you have no idea who Photek is.

i agree. a lot if its tracks are pretty awesome, but some are a bit boring, especially the slower ones...
Sounds like something from Unreal Tournament GOTY
i must say . . not the best remix i have heard by the mighty photek . . drum beats are still killer : )
Original mix is better.
kool keith an Q Bert rule
Don't ride a red pony !.
j majik
what?
Too bad there wasn't any progression in this
really dull mixdown/mastering on this tune.
