      ABMNS PRODUCTION Absolutely!! Tradition is something precious and must be held onto. Once its gone, there's no getting it back. Laos has done a great job to continue with such beautiful traditions.
      Take care my friend 🙏

      ABMNS PRODUCTION Honestly, I think it is more for Lao and Esan because we share the same language and culture. I don't believe Bangkok care much about this. Just my opinion.

      For milliniums Lao have always retained identity and heritage even back in ancient Yellow River before the Han, Qin Dynasty founded the Chinese Empire.
      Because always have had sovereignty, Lao incorporate instead of replace.
      History is indentity.

      @Da Phetdala Siam, now Thailand is a Mon Dynasty Kingdom not Tai nor Lao. From Issan and Lanna To Kengtung is Lao by blood and Dynasty. The majority of Thailand is Lao ethnic, 22 millions Lao in Issan not including Lanna, that is why when this Chakri Dynasty came up with the Thai language it is Lao and Khmer mix.

      They all have their good points..but please dont put siam down...sth east Asia rocks and all the countries are fantastic.if Lao had the same infrastructure and economy as siam then I'm sure you would see the differences creeping in

      T Prada Hey dude, yeah its something special isn't it. Its one thing to see it on video, but to actually experience it. The sounds, the laughter and joy, the respect and love of all people coming togerher. Ethnic minorities, locals and tourists sharing this together had me choked up there at the end. It is something I plan to experience as many times as I can. Am glad you enjoyed it my friend. Take care 🙏

    Before the war, every ethnicity lived happily together side by side..

    It seems like a fun thing to be a part of. I have experienced song kran in Pattaya. Not so many tribes there, but girls from all places of Isaan! ;) It was crazy but not very traditional...

    Its a great time to visit. I experienced Song Kran in Phuket, then Pii Mai in Vientiane this year. It was a great experience. I must say its look awesome in Luang Prabang.

    • @NowinLao
      @NowinLao  6 лет назад +1

      Really think you need to book another trip to experience Luang Prabang mate, it's something else 👌

    • @Variuz001
      @Variuz001 6 лет назад

      Definitely. I really liked it the first time I saw it four years ago, but to see it during Pii Mai would be fantastic. The old colonial architecture, the monks walking around town in the morning to receive alms. Well everything about it. It is nice that it is a UNESCO world heritage site, it is good to see the old town remain the same without out new high rise turning up. New development will happen nearby no doubt though with the new rail line going through close by.

    do the different groups in the parade represent different ethnic groups?

    • @NowinLao
      @NowinLao  5 лет назад

      Yes. Lao has the largest gathering of ethnic minorities in all of Asia, and the Luangprabang Pii Mai parade is the largest in all of Lao where all of these minorities come to represent their people. Also people from many districts and province's come to celebrate and represent their areas and traditional dress. Videos after this of us travelling further north show a lot more of the different people of Lao.
      Thanks for watching 🙏

    You guys are too young to remember the Pathet Lao, I was nearly shot by one of them in Vientiane, 1975. They murdered the late king and his family.

      But you did not mention the CIA bombing in Laos every 8 minutes during 1964 - 73, they dropped more than 2 million tones and more than all bombs dropped in WW2 and presently UXO still exist as serious harm and threats to million of lives

    why have apsara in lao?

    • @NowinLao
      @NowinLao  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Rithysith. ..."Aspara is a female spirit of the clouds and water in Hindu and Buddhist culture. They figure prominently in the sculpture, dance, literature and painting of many South Asian and Southeast Asian cultures..." and I guess being the Buddhist new year and the traditional water festival, it was appropriate. I did have to Google it though. Thanks for bringing that to my attention and thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
