  • In this video we have designed a DIY lap tracker using the PIDflight lap app. This may be used for racing or recreational drones either outdoors or indoors for tiny whoops as well as five-inch racing drones.
    Everything presented here is designed from scratch including the PCB plate and the box. Below we are including all useful links.
    Just a heads up, the bluetooth set-up and firmware installation are a bit problematic but the webpage from PIDflight is really helpful so use that. Good luck and happy flighting!

    Great job!
    As i can see, you dont use an antenna at the receiver to make it as less sensitive as possible in order to detect signal transient?
    I thought to build an all in one 3-channel tracker that also could send fpv feeds to a screen so the crown would watch.
    Did you try the same with antennas attached?

    Nice work!
    Is it possible to get the gerber file for the board and the autodesk file for the box so I can make/print it? I have all the components up and running on a bread board now but this (your box/board) would make it perfect! :)

      drive.google.com/drive/folders/1o5buP0xlHV3zCoU85ijuFRKnIZPNrGVG?usp=sharing
      Try those files. I have the fusion 360 file and the stl file. For the gerber file i try it for the history of jlcpcb and i found only this. If is not working let me know to look for zip file.

      Finaly i found the zip file. I put all together in google drive.

    Is there no antenna? I don't see one.

    I'm Glad this is still a thing. Did you run into issues? I only ask because I want to host whoop races and use this for timing.

      No antenna. I founded to many issues. Visit the official website PID and you gone a solve it. For more than one pilot you have to buy the app is about 3 euro.

    Hi, this lap tiker is for one pilot or is for multiple pilot?thank you

    • @TomStell_11
      @TomStell_11  Год назад

      If you register to the app pidflight with a small amount I think you can do it with multiple (different) Channel.

      @@TomStell_11 ok , is the hardware part always the same as you showed, nice video or does every driver need hardware?

    • @TomStell_11
      @TomStell_11  Год назад

      I don't try it but my opinion you need just one hardware device and calibrate the app for multiple pilots...

    Hi, how did you manage to set up the bluetooth? Is it just plug and play? I set up the AT commands and wire it up but I cant seem to connect to my bluetooth module, I tried HC-06 and HM-10.

    • @TomStell_11
      @TomStell_11  2 года назад

      I also had a hard time to match the Bluetooth here is the link from the PID website with instructions of how to do it. Basicly i change the AT command to 115200. If you don t have the FTDI you can also connect it using arduino uno.
