  • Hey guys I had a little left in each bottle so decided to have them battle it out in a direct comparison on the same Wheel to see which I like better and which works the best

    I purchased and used a couple of bottles of the Megs. Worked very well. The economics didn't add up though, and Repco didn't seem to stock larger sizes.
    Mitch Grime Off is also a high pH (Alkaline) cleaner, and diluted, works just as good (if not better than Megs. It is more versatile being that you can make your own dilution ratios and use it in other places. (Wheel arches, etc)
    Being careful with neat or low dilution ratios on Aluminium, (think uncoated brake calipers). Works really well on wheels and tires. 5 liters of Mitch Grime Off last a long time and is super economical.
    Thanks again for the vids 👍🍺

      Yeah I agree and that's why I use Grime off 90% of the time but I will say I do like Foaming cleaners on tyres for some reason

      The Mrs had a bottle of a household cleaner that sprayed as a foam, when she finished the bottle I appropriated it for garage use. I mix grime down to about 4 parts water 1 grime for a tyre cleaner. Works pretty well. Works on the wheel a well, mine are coated, but I prefer the iron cleaners on them

    G’day Jackson, another great test. Put in an order with Mirch this morning. Just an idea that works for me, I park the car on some bits of 19mm ply slightly off edge of tyre when I wash. Helps get around the whole tyre with brushes etc and perfect for your fave dressing when dry. Ps use rough ply, you don’t want yours or a customer’s car skating down a steep driveway.

    I mixed my Turtle Wax to 1/3 for rims and 1/2 for tyres. Turtle wax stays on the rim and tyre for longer

      Yeah the Mirch is a great one for the price, hopefully shipping isn't to much as it's definitely cheaper for us to use here in Aus compared to the Meg's

    Megs was my favourite, also surprised repco dropped it but it was always order in down in tas not on shelves. I'm a bowdens tragic but don't like wheely clean. Currently trying the megs ultimate wheel and tyre cleaner seems ok

    I find the Mirch Grime off is as good as both of those. Way better pricing though. 30% off this weekend) for wheels I usually go Bowden's wheely clean or Mirch Dragon blood. Again the Mirch is super good value.

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  5 месяцев назад +1

      Completely agree and that's why I have around 8 litres of grime off here which is what I generally use the most.
      Dragon blood is also great but I slightly prefer NV purge over it

    • @DARTHPHIKL
      @DARTHPHIKL 5 месяцев назад

      I have never tried the NV range, a couple of the sealants nd the detailer look good as well. The purge Seens expensive compared to the Dragon blood, as Mirch appear to have regular sales recently. Few months back Repco had wheely clean half price is I stocked up as well.

    Neither of the products are cost effective if you work out a per wheel cost. I've tried several brands and find that I have a better result by using ArmorAll Heavy Duty Wash- (green in colour) agitating and hosing off with a garden hose. I can go deep into the wheel barrel with a long brush and achieve an almost perfect clean. A quick spray with a detailer finishes off with a great shine..

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  5 месяцев назад

      I agree and that's why I mostly use Mirch grime off which I dilute 1-1 or upto 1-5 with water far cheaper and does a great job

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah great product for sure but I'd completely agree on the price and amount used due to the foaming trigger

    • @ray040613
      @ray040613 5 месяцев назад +1

      Personally, I dilute the TW 1:1 and add a couple of milliliters of high alkaline snow foam like KC Pfe. I only use it on the tires because it is uneconomical to use it on the tire and wheel.

    $45 for a bottle of wheel cleaner is absolutely criminal, I'm from Australia and run my own detailing business but never look at wheel cleaner prices I only grab last minute things from supercheap, autobahn etc.

    • @EvolvedDetails

      @adamcordeiro47 5 месяцев назад

      @@EvolvedDetails good plan, I mostly use wheel acid in my business because the cars I do are always neglected, it’s the most cost effective cleaner. $35 I can get 5L of wheel acid from AutoSmart that I can dilute 5:1 and it’s the strongest cleaner there is.
      If they are not that bad, I just use a bit of apc and then foam over the top of it with a regular shampoo.
