Thanks for showing the glamorous side of our trade. Great bunch of random truths in clip form. When I hang up my cameras I think I will take on a sideline in furniture removals. I spend 80% of my time unpacking, moving furniture, repacking then driving. The other 20% percent makes up for it though - how else would you meet and work with such a diverse bunch of people from so many backgrounds and disciplines. Not burnt out yet. Great post that resonates with many I am sure. Thanks.
That toddler is going to grow up to be a daredevil haha. I was going to recommend using the t2c tube lights as your hair light for the live hits as it would be easier to control the intensity through the app. Normally I’m not a fan of apps but it really does help when the ambient light is changing and it would be intrusive to lower the stand and change the output. However, they have an internal battery and your entire system runs off gold mount. How bad was the sprinkler damage? 😂
Age 17, home school, JROTC, team sport or PT job mandatory. Working random days with me was a better option than collecting shopping carts. But I wish he stayed on JROTC.
I don't quite understand what's the point of doing a live broadcast in the middle of the night is if you can't place the presenter in the news scene. You can't see anything in the background but a bush. It's a lot of work to show almost nothing. It's a bit along the lines of going to the news site and then blurring the background a lot. Don't you think?
Not my decision... But the alternative at the location is a black background as there is no ambient light. I've shot the black BG and they prefer to have something back there. 16 hours of live news daily, correspondants filing field reports from all over the world, sometimes the first or second hit is dark and I have no options at 4 AM.
I have an odd question: I assume the production company gets permits to film on a city/county/government property ? Do you ever get hassled by the police? Does the production send you a copy of the permit and insurance policy as standard operating procedure? I enjoy the content. Thank you.
Nice video, always look forward to the vlogs, provides great insight into the workings of a top professional, thank you!
That's JB! That's cool. Keep up the great work David. you're the OG!
@@videopromike yup. The legend
Props for leaving the panel drop in. It happens. True real life work days. A 3M tape hook would hold the center line for the curtain just fine?
@@scottievee330 great suggestion, thanks!

That was a good video - while there are load with people talking about shooting setups it's good to see some real world examples.
13:00 i would buy a 12v ledstrip. That also can change the color to red. To keep the bugs out
Good suggestion, thanks.
Stay safe out there with the storms heading to southeast Texas

this is why my standard durability test of surviving a throw down a flight of stairs is mandatory. lol. only partially kidding.
How would you work out how much to charge the neighbor for the free water feature. ?
be interested in your thoughts on the C400 and if it will make any headway in the industry

lmao the rubber leg tripod close I know it well...
NN OK with using the DJI mic? Also, standard lights up here in the NE are a mix of Nila Varsa V2 and Creamsource Micros, at least IP65 rated.
No, it was a clip for social media.
Also, I love the Creamsource Micros, would love to pickup two someday.
How did you get your kid to help you? How do I get mine?

What clamps do you use for the overhead blocker/reflector panel?

@@CrankyCameraman Thanks. I lost/damaged one of the clamp screws on mine, so I need to find a replacement screw for it.
the gold mount slap feels equally satisfying to an HK slap

Public property, 1st amendment protected activity, no permit.

A little too rough of a video for My taste.
The work and travel time is brutal, not enough free time to edit.
