My Jeep has been sitting in the parking lot for over two months now. I had a mechanic come over and he said it is compression issues with cylinder 4 and 6. Do I need to get a new vehicle or could this be fixed?
@@danielvasquez8117 Did he do a compression test ? If he just diagnosed by sound you should ask him to do an actual compression test. But if you indeed have low compression it will either be piston rings or valves that need to be reseated or replaced, so it will cost at least 2000$ and 4000 at worst.
so you pay 300$ for a car and expect it to be absolutely perfect? i dont think so, my dad had a 2000 nissan sentra that had low compression on one of the cylinders and he daily drove it for about 7 years and never had a problem, just got something better
Glad you made this video brother because now I don’t think this is my issue or maybe I have more compression 🤷🏽♂️ but mine sure don’t sound like that it could still be bad tho
Mine starts up clean and idles fine , and drives smooth but my tuner told me to compression test before they can warranty my turbo. Got me all paranoid😂
Had a 91 S10 5 speed 2.5l 4 clinder. 105 on cylinder 1, 110 on cylinder 4... 32 on cylinders 2 & 3. Still started and ran though. Just didn't like hills
@Mikes Garage Hi, I need some advice. My 2000 Mazda Protege recently was tested to have low compression on cylinder 4. It only has 130psi and the other 3 cylinders are at 140psi. How long can I continue to drive this car before it just craps out? I only need to use it for a couple of weeks so I can make some money to buy another car. If anyone else can help me out with suggestions, please comment. Thanks all.
Thank you for confirming my sadness looks like I lost cylinder one then. It had 70psi before winter so I already knew i was losing it, probably also explains my shit fuel economy
I like how the remote didnt lock the car in the end and he was like fuck it and ended the video. Good comparison of a good and bad engine we need more videos like that. Too bad you think the cars dead, i take it you dont work on cars.
@@franciscocarrero7031 that's because oil fils in the gap between the piston rings and the cylinder wall. Now if it did not bring compression up, that would mean either a bent intake or exhaust valve or both for that matter.
Engine isnt dead. It's a two day fix. Man up and fix it! What can go wrong? You paid 200 for it. It's worth more in scrap.
hr bought another for 500 bucks, in 2 days you could make that much money, so why waste time.
@@s13stutz where tf u working at??
@@jtrtx concrete and 70 hr weeks
2:00 for the startup
You bought it for $300... what do you expect?! 🤦🏻♂️
Pop your valve cover off and with a feeler gauge, Check your valve adjustment.
Dam that civic would have been worth 2000$ in today’s money
yeah 2k and it will sit in the marketplace for 13 weeks.
Literally 😂 I remember the day when you could get a running driving one for $500 LMFAO
@@ProctorsgarageIn some areas you could still find 90’s saturns for 400-900. Those things got me through rough times for sure
It may not be to bad could just need a valve job depending on where it's losing compression .

Silver one really sounds like a lawnmower
😂😂😂
I'd take that misfiring civic for a top speed run!
Radioactive Noob I did lol!
Radioactive Noob I did lol!
What happened then? Did you throw a rod on the low compression honda?
I need speakers out of a 2000 honda like the parts car that you have
Seems like a burned exhaust valve based on the sound coming out of the tailpipe.
I agree strongly when I burned a valve it made that same noise out the exhaust.

Same 😅

500 bucks for that "beater" lucky
Shitheads in my area wants close to 2000 for a 97 with over 260km.
Galfough ikr
nightmare in action same! :/
Over 260 kilometers that’s a great deal buy it 😂
Hey man who

pour jb weld in cylinder 4 lol

I drove mine around with 0 compression on cylinder #1 for a while S10s are hard to kill 😂
Just said the old one had brand new brakes what a shame, then later you go on to say you swapped all the parts over. Apparently not...
Remote starter is so sick
Spun bearing and piston hit the valves that's what it sounds like to me.
You could get a younger d16 for 300 to 750$ not at all expensive
Seems like exhaust valve has gone bad?

Literally a valve adjustment is all you need.

Your a coward if you'd rip those cars apart
Leaked valve, piston rings or head gasket
Was head gasket

try a bottle of restore engine restorer. that could fix it for less than $10.
mix it first with motor oil before you pour it in
TourdeFrance20131 maybe a blown head gasket cause the knock was air escaping
I wonder why no check engine light
Man it could be a broken valve that’s it why condemn it so fast ?
I need the door handle outside passenger
Sounds like it has the incorrect firing order
Back when you could get a nice car that'd run for 2-3 years and pay less than 500 bucks....
I got the same issue with an 95 civic hatchback. Anyone know what’s wrong with it?
If it has low compression in your case it does would the car still be able to idle high on cold start With low compression ?
In my case it was the opposite car would idle almost perfect on cold starts and when it got warm it was very noticeable
What was beeping from the beige civic before you stepped out? Lol just curious. 1:34
SomethingMedia custom stereo my dads 96 f350 has a custom radio and it does that with the engine off
Sony xplod stereo’s
Why not get the coupes?? 🤦🏽♂️
Dontt rev your engine when cold i messed up my motor
That exhaust sounded like a v8
I didn’t know these cars could break
Any car can break with the right dum-dum as the owner.

How much
Very nice civic.
Esta en 3 cilindros/ its on three cylinders
Could u use the word "mint" any more?
my neighbors truck that sounds worse than a lawnmower, those are rookie sounds
That sounds nice
You should of used that other car as a back up parts car never know could of saved you money just by having it sit thier for a part
They sell a can that will fix that
Put some oil down the carb and start it. It will increase compression
its a 2000
nvm then lol
@@austinmiller1360 i did that through the spark plug and the compression got higher, why is that ?

It’s a 2000. It’s Turbocharged.
No offense but the Color on the EX is such an ugly ass color but nice car tho oh the silver one is an SE I think
Bruh, my engine does the same bad sound 😟

Sounds like the engine is going to blow!
I got one for $225
