{f a q} Frequently Asked Questions
What frame do you stitch on?
- I use a Millennium frame from NeedleNeeds in the U.K.
How do you film your videos?
- I use Final Cut Pro X (Mac) for filming and editing.
What are all of those threads hanging down from your HAED?
- I stitch full coverage using a technique called parking. I highly recommend tutorial videos from Carolyn Mazzeo to learn the technique. If you want to see more about how I do my diagonal blocks, see my full coverage demo playlist here: • Full Coverage Info
Hi Jessie! I don’t often comment, but love seeing what you’ve been working on. An Aussie FlossTuber you will probably like is Karla “Stitch Me Sane” - she has some gorgeous full coverage projects. A British one I enjoy is “Just Sew Sherrie” - she’s so much fun to watch and has some designs you’re working on too. Happy stitching Lesley
Many thanks Jesse for supporting Full Coverage February, and letting your viewers know what Sarah and
I hoped to encourage. You explained what we were doing so well, and I hope it will continue to grow in the coming years. And of course thank you for participating!
I love your Cherry Blossom Dragon start! That will be so beautiful when it’s done.
As for what I’m reading I just finished The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Yes, I know, totally different genres but that’s what I love to do in my reading. Both good though Fourth Wing could have had better depth of writing.
My one daughter and I do a Mother Daughter Book Club ( she picks half the books for the year and I pick the other half) it’s fun because we both introduce each other to genres we would not normally read. And I and my good friend from grade school do a childhood books club where we read our favorite books from when we were young. So much fun! Reading will probably always be my first love. 💕 💕💕
Loved to see your progress! I am currently reading all the ever afters by Danielle Teller. It's the untold story of Cinderella's stepmom. Happy stitching!
I love that you didn't listen to the poll and are starting with TOG. It is my absolute favorite SJM series. I am only now getting into the CC series and haven't gotten to the connections yet but am excited! LOVE seeing all your stitching. I did not think I was a full coverage person, but I have leaned into it after seeing all of your pieces and am really enjoying my tiny 1-piece start lol thank you for the inspiration!
Just an FYI from someone who's several pages into Cherry Blossom Breezes; enjoy that new start feeling while you have it, because eventuality you will get so sick of stitching pink, haha
I told my husband that Danny bought you a HAED and got you all of the floss for it and he just said, “There is no way I’ve got time for that” so congratulations on picking your winner!
Hey Jessie! Not having seen the chart I don’t know for sure, but it looks like you can take out two full rows of the January flower border, and put those attribute words in the top left and/or bottom right inside corners close to the flowers. Enjoyed your update! I am reading a handful of books at the moment but just started Man’s Search for Meaning by Frankl. It’s been on my TBR for a long time and it’s scratching the itch. Happy stitching! -Leah Noel
I'm currently reading An Unwanted Guest, by Shari Lapena. It's a suspense novel about a group of people isolated at an inn during a snow storm, and guests start dying. Has the set-up that I love from golden age mysteries, but with modern characters.
Great video. Lovely to catch up with you.
I’m currently reading Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian. I highly recommend it. It’s a coming of age story, coming out story, love story with the backdrop of AIDS crisis. The author has added his culture to the story ( Iranian immigrant -gay) masterfully.
I’m reading A Court of Wings and Ruin. Loving it and excited to keep going with the Maasverse! ☺️
glad to see another video! Love all your full coverage progress :)
Happy Stitching 🪡🧵🥰
I love how meticulously you keep track of your stitching. I wish I could be as organized. Your work is beautiful.
Hi Jess Love your floss tube, Congrats on your finishes, I loved the Others Series by Anne Bishop, I did them as Audio books and the narrator is really good. I am currently fumbling around in the Audible freebie section, as I am struggling to find an author that captures my attention. I did the first 2 Sarah J Maas Court of Thorns series and I have not been inspired to keep going with it even though I loved the second book way more than the first.
I just finished The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins (so good!) and now to follow up I am rereading the Hunger Games series
I love Anne Bishop. The Others series is so good. I just finished rereading the spin off series from that - yesterday. lol. Also in the middle of Throne of Glass series reread because I finished Crescent City 3.
Hey 👯♀️
I am currently reading “The untitled books” Book 3 in the glass library series by C.J.Archer. It is a re-read, because book 4 “Dead letter delivery” will arrive on March 5th. And this is the 3 re-read of all the books that have been published so far, so fair to say I love them, I am just making up excuses to read them again 😂 I am also in Fandom so also reading the 3 twisted tales books, which is a struggle and why I started all 3 😅 I also have started the Zodiac Academy series, on so far loving some parts but unsure about others. And lastly (because, yes I have to many books going at once) I am actual reading the same book as you “ The Assassin’s Blade” by Sarah J. Maas. And I have a few more that is started but in a break until I can get the fandom books done and out of the way😅
I recently finished book 5 of TOG and then started book 3 of ACOTAR, so far I like the story of TOG better than ACOTAR but I was told I should finish ACOTAR before TOG. I'm also reading Crystal Hefner's book Only Say Good Things and I picked up Gothikana by RuNyx which is... different.
I’m currrently reading acotar. I read the first crescent city book by accident just by picking it up in the library and absolutely loved it. Then like you, after some research I decided I’d better go back and start from the beginning. I didn’t love acotar I can’t lie, but I’m enjoying a court of mist and fury much more so I will stick with them. I’m also reading the mortal instruments series and am just about to start book 5. Love those!
Hi Jessie! Congrats on your finishes! The swans are beautiful. You made some great progress! Thanks for sharing! Happy Stitching!
I think my jaw dropped a little when you said your January stitch total - well done! Your dragon new start is also looking great. All the dragons on instagram have been so tempting. I always enjoy seeing your WIPs :)
I love seeing your floss tube pop up. I just finished reading Verity …still thinking about it; I highly recommend.
I am almost finished with CC3. 😜😘
I'm reading The Power Broker by Robert Caro. It's a biography of a crooked NY political appointee. It's absolutely massive and I've been plugging away at it for 4 months now but it's very interesting.
My mom and I share a birth month too! Great Jan progress - love all the FC and 2 finishes! I just finished Valdemar by Mercedes Lackey...her Valdemar series is awesome. My uncle loaned me some when I was in HS and I've reread them many times. I'd start with Magic's Pawn even though that's not the chronological start. I tried Crescent City 1 when it first came out and couldn't get into it, but I've read ACOTAR and TOG so maybe I should give CC another try.
Love that horror movie piece. The Hellraiser series is also one of my favourites 😍 I think Yellow is probably Yellow Bastard from Sin City.
And I highly suggest watching Q the Winged Serpent. I watched it for the first time last year and loved it. It’s super campy fun. I’m not sure if you have Shudder, but it’s available to watch there I believe.
It's not a tail it's a whip 😂
Great video as always. My brother thinks “yellow” is a character called yellow bastard from Sin City. He watches all the horror flicks. Thanks for sharing!
I'm reading All the Light We Cannot See and loving it. Also just started a non-fiction that I won't recommend yet because I'm not sure about it lol
I'm reading house of sky and breath. I'm enjoying it.
I am doing the birth flower also. I love the flower but not the font. I am making the border 8x8 and the flower fits.
I'm reading the Expanse series right now. I just started book 3... I've actually read books 1-7 before, but I'm re-reading those and then finishing the series (8 and 9). I love these books! The show is one of the best sci-fi shows I've ever watched... but it still pales in comparison to the books. It's a really clever imagination of what would happen if we colonized the rest of the solar system. Every book surprises me, but each of those surprises makes complete sense after the fact!
Hello 🙂 Congratulations on crushing your stitch goal(s) for January!!
I am reading, slowly, Iron Flame. It's me, not the book ;-)
Book 3 in the girls of paper fire series (girls of fate and fury) and the lastest in the murderbot series: system collapse. Listening to book 2 die trying in the Jack Reacher series after binging the TV show. Congrats on your finishes!!!
Where can I find the bookish wipgo?
Thank you for the tag. Thank you for keeping me company tonight while stitching. Love your Year in the Woods finish. Laladee stitches just finished the swans as well. They're just so lovely! Working very hard to stay off 123 Stitch after seeing both versions!
Love your videos! You inspire me! I just finished reading The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger. He's an author from Minnesota, where I live, and has a series that takes place up in northern Minnesota that I love. This book, however, is his latest stand-alone book and it had me just *bawling* at the end. I really feel it's the best book he's written, and I ♥ them all! I just started reading a book by another of my favorite Minnesotan authors, John Sandford, called The Hanged Man's Song. I love reading series books! Enjoy the rest of your February!
It’s good to see you again. Love your stitches and congrats on the finishes. 🎉
Amazing number of stitches in January - WOW
Love your finishes and your progress on your wips. Happy stitching!
I started with Assassin's blade and I'm so glad I did, especially how it ties everything together in a much later book in the series.
I could not get through the 2nd book in the acotar. However i am loving the Throne of Glass series.
I love the evolution of our chats that went from full coverage to something not! All of your stitching is so good, the details in those leaves of Haunted House are so amazing! I’m actually about in the same place of Assassin’s Blade as you are, I loved the desert novella.
Great video. I love seeing the projects you stitch. I am so happy you were able to finish Horror Movie Alphabet. Your progress on Personal Sunshine is looking wonderful. I was a bit surprised at your admission of being behind on the Sarah J. Maas series. I think that starting over is a good idea. As to what I am reading/listening to right now, I am on Book 14 of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. It is the final book and I have loved the series so much that I am a bit reluctant to finish the last book.
The Queen's Poisoner is a great read. I have read most of Jeff Wheeler's books. I am currently reading The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson.
Beautiful projects! Love your videos! Thank you for bringing us along with you.
Nice to see you back, and with so much progress! Thank you for the mention ❤❤❤
I am currently reading Beartown by Fredrik Bachman
Oh my I am so happy to see you . I am back to cross stitching. You have such a sweet spirit.
Great to see you, wow that’s some impressive stitching. I love your new dragon start. Happy stitching.
Good job filming even though it didn't feel right last time. That's a big hurdle to overcome. I love seeing your progress and hearing your plans. Your pieces are so beautiful and you are such a prolific stitcher. It's very inspiring. I'm in the middle of the Forgotten Realms books by R.A. Salvatore related to Drizzt Do'Urden. I am loving them, but I've been on them for a while and would like to read something else, but I also want to read them all in order so I don't forget things. I read them all piecemeal last time and there are definitely gaps.
Over here looking for book recommendations🌻🪡🌻
I binged my way through 10 or 11 of Lawrence Sanders Archie McNally books recently. Fun times!
I am about to binge read crescent city. Just got the third book. I love her books and have read throne of glass and Acotar several times I hope you enjoy them all
I took so long to finish this video (it’s not you, it’s me) that I don’t even remember that I commented before until I went to comment again. Anyway, I’m reading The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King right now and it’s fine. Pretty mid at the moment. I’m also listening to your 12 rec, The Bronze Horseman which is good so far, but omg I can just feel the foreboding because things are going to get horrible. But right now it’s fluffy angst of “I have a crush on my sister’s boyfriend!”
I'm rereading Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. It is one of my favorites!
Currently reading ‘The Women’ by Kristin Hannah - so far beautiful, but also heartbreaking (you know, Vietnam war).
I am reading Jill Bearup “Just stab me now” and currently listening to “Red Rising” by Pierce Brown
Yellow could be from the movie Sin City? I would not call that one horror but could be him.
The yellow guy is Junior or Yellow Bastard from Sin City.
That is what my spouse and I thought too.
Jessie, how do you count stitches on a paper pattern, eg like a mirabilia? Do you make a rough estimate? Or do you really count them?😊
I’m currently reading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett but I just bought Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner which is the sequel to Godkiller and I really really want to get to that (I may have read the first chapter already 😂)
So much stitching! Love the swans! I am reading three things - audiobook "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah (love, love, love, his voice and stories). And reading for studies - Positive Psychology and Psychosomatic Medicine. Just finished "On Evil" by Terry Eagleton for my Hidden True Crime book club (Dr. Babe's Book Club). That was a handful, but interesting as something totally different than I was used to.
All I could find is Sneaky Yellow Bastard from Sin City... ???
💙☕️💙
3-1=2 :) xx
