BEHIND ENEMY LINES! Preston Guy Of TigerBait.com Previews USC Trojans Vs LSU | Similarities Galore

- We are just over two weeks away from real football being played! We invite Preston Guy of TigerBait.com onto the show to preview the season opener, USC Trojans vs LSU Tigers.
The similarities between these two programs are uncanny. Both coaches were hired a week apart. Both come from top programs. Both inherited bad rosters and a program that was in disarray. Both teams have QBs that will be first-year starters after sitting behind a Heisman Trophy winner. You get the point.

Lincoln Riley is the USC Trojans Football Head Coach for the 2023 College Football Season but after the 2023 NFL Draft the USC Trojans could have more transfers come in and highlights from 2023 NFL Draft prospects. Caleb Williams, Marshawn Lloyd, Austin Jones, Raleek Brown, Mario Williams, Tahj Washington, Brenden Rice, Kyron Ware-Hudson, Michael Jackson III, Dorian Singer, and Miller Moss should be playing great for the USC offense highlights. Eric Gentry, Shane Lee, Max Williams, Jamil Muhammad, Jaylin Smith, Bear Alexander, Calen Bullock, Solomon Byrd, and Stanley Ta'ufo'ou should get USC football Trojans defense highlights in 2023. The USC national signing day 2023 commitments are Malachi Nelson, Zachariah Branch, Makai Lemon, Braylan Shelby, Tackett Curtis, Quinten Joyner, Elijah Paige, Maliki Crawford, A'Marion Peterson, Christian Pierce, Amos Talalele, David Peevy, Sam Greene, Micah Banuelos, Alani Noa, Kade Eldridge, Tobias Raymond, Deijon Laffitte, Elijah Hughes, and Ja'Kobi Lane. The USC Transfer Portal tracker has Mason Cobb, Dorian Singer, Christian Roland-Wallace, Kyon Barrs, Edward Czaplicki, and Jamil Muhammad. RB Marshawn Lloyd just transferred to USC from South Carolina.

It’s funny how Guy seems to think that LSU just has to contain Branch on offense which will lead to a win for LSU. He seems to be unaware that Branch is certainly gonna be a problem for LSU in the punt and kickoff return game, but most likely not their biggest problem on SC offense. Certainly LSU’s DC knows what’s coming his way quite well on Sep 1st.
Well I see USC fans think lsu offense isn’t really going to be anything. I think both fans are gonna underestimate each other since we follow our own teams closer than the other. Luckily each coach won’t overlook each other, so us fans can have some fun and let them worry about that. It’s Going to be a good game, but my tigers by 3! 🎉
LSU punt coverage team allowed NEGATIVE punt return yards last year. Who does the LSU DC have to be worried about besides the punt returner?
@@FredPitre-o4bjacoby lane lemon an prob about five other receivers lol an tight ends haha usc offense is fast and outside receivers are tall and strong what else do you want to know idc offense will be a lot for most teams to control
@@slanderpop8771absolutely ever pod I hear you just see people underestimating each teams its crazy how some feel lsu defense wont be good and can't improve but usc defense takes the massive jump and will be dominant its just funny on both sides
@@mr.optimistic510 At least LSU fans have seen from countless practice videos that defense the is winning quite a few 11 on 11 reps. That never happened last year. At any level of the defense.
The Tulane green wave is going to be a solid team again this year 👍
Nice
Coach Rowe says that he can't stand SEC football - is it because they've had five different teams combine for 14 of the last 20 national titles? Or is it because they didn't have to sell out more than a century of tradition and join a conference that includes Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers in order to remain relevant?
Anyone know why Lincoln Riley tried so incredibly hard to get out of the game with LSU?
WELL IF your asking your also assuming just like the rest of this rimor mongering folks. LINCOLN RILEY tried to restructure his schedule. But lets take a gamder fam The y be playing LSU outright the first game. And if you notice unlike some teams in the SEC who starts with CREAM PUFFS schedule USC will eventually play you ready for this MICHIgan also PENN STATE ALSO NOTRE DAME wait a minute even the res of their none prime games will be a returning Bowl team in Louisville NEBRASKA and their cross town rival UCLA. Thats all in one year
Nobody truly knows what we're gonna get Sept 1 and it's driving both fan bases insane 😂. We just gonna have to let these dudes play and see what happens. But one thing is for sure.. Saban's defense at LSU in '03 would've dominated Norm Chow and Pete Carroll had they played. Just sayin. Geaux Tigers
Well USC 30 LSU 16. And nobody will dominated PETE CARROL or you mist have forgotten unlike SABAN CARROL is a next level head coach woth multiple SUPERBOWL APPEARANCES … come at me after the game I will be objective
Great show again guys
Preston guy & tiger bait are solid follows for LSU football
Thanks for a great show and guest, guys!
FIGHT ON✌️✌️✌️
Couple points
- LSU has changed offensive coordinators, we have LR - advantage USC
- LSU has a good stable of receivers, but I dont see the guys that create as much havoc as Branch, Lemon, Lane and Duce. They dont have any receivers like Duce or Lane
- Blake Baker defenses typically put another guy in the box, leaving corners on an island. you can't do that against USC's receivers. just think about the route Duce ran in the Holiday Bowl, think about Jakobi out-jumping any coverage.
- If this is a passing game, USC has a clearly better secondary
- LSU has a better offensive line, if they protect the passer and USC doesn't that might overcome USC's advantage in the secondary
bottom line: will LSU win this game at the line of scrimmage or USC win it in the passing game?
LSUs 3 starting WRs avg 17+ yards a reception last year. Lacy as WR #3 led the tigers with 18+ a catch. Daniels led the country in 20 yard receptions with 19. He was #3 in the country for receivers with 50+ receptions with a 19+ yard avg. Tigers #4 WR had 40 receptions last year. Starting TE has 70+ catches the last two seasons.
branch - 31 receptions **** lemon 6 receptions **** lane 7 receptions ++++ duce 16 receptions. That's some real heavy hitters right there my partner.
DC Baker employs a 4-2 or 3-3 front. The back end is 5 DBs. It's not like got 7 in the box to start. if he ran a 4-3 or 3-4
His pass defense finished top half of the SEC. LSU secondary is better than you give them credit for.
Why is sc secondary better? Anything in particular?
That OLine will allow Nuss to pass when he wants to not has too.
Dude. It's LSU. Justen Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Malik Neighbors, Brian Thomas. You just aren't familiar with the next one yet.
@@FredPitre-o4byes we know is SC’s top receivers this year got very few opportunities last year - but did you see them against a top 25 D in the bowl game? They’re bigger, faster & better this year ✌️
@@paulspillman9413SC has a history of great receivers too - history isn’t playing this year though -we will see
@@frunkdup828 Never said SC didn't have talented receivers. My point is saying LSU has no receivers the caliber of your guys is a comment borne in ignorance.
When we list the opener against UCLA, Ed Orgeron was already crumbling left and right!
Don’t see how this stays under 62 with these two offenses and these two sorry defenses even if it’s week 1
Especially being week 1!
LSU's defense will surprise a whole bunch of people in Vegas!
@@ivansalazar5448 usc has 4 dangerous NFL caliber targets . Does LSU have 4 NFL DBs ? They might LSU is DB/wr U .
I doubt it though LSU was atrocious on defense last year . They need the dudes to stop usc I don’t think they have them.
@@ivansalazar5448 I think so, at least I hope so!
Great guest! FightOnFreddy
I think our running game will surprise people in Vegas!
Love the Podcast Very interesting analysis listening in . Great job Gentlemen. Fight On & Beat LSU❤💛💯✌️
Grinch isn't the DC at Wisconsin he's a position coach.
He is Co-DC and safeties coach
LMAO, an AP first place ranking isn’t a national championship. The BCS was always the title game prior to the CFP. Riley was never a candidate for the LSU job, period. This Preston guy is ridiculous.
Right, and LSU played in the BCS national championship game. also, he literally said he doesn’t know if LSU even offered, but there were rumors and fan support for the (potential)hire
California doesn't have the defensive talent in the trenches like Louisiana.
Bro, most of the guys on our D-line aren’t even from California! Maybe one guy! Nice try! 😂😂
lol good thing they aren’t from California for the most part
They just don't stay in California
You obviously don't know much about the talent at USC. Our OL and DL are just as big and filled with 4 and 5 stars. We just had the worst DC in college football. You'll find out.
A whole bunch of talking heads are saying the Tigers will lose this game! We might as well don't show up in Vegas! I like it when our tigers are disrespected and underated as they are this season! Geaux! Tigers!
Fight on from Louisiana
Jesus Christ
Still a lot of LSu old timers mad about the 79 game being robbed by bad calls
Mad? Played for four and won three titles last 20 years. USC? 🥱
My dad and grandpa tell me about this game. It’s a tad before my time I’m afraid.
Did that dude say 7-6 last year?
The computers gave LSU a piece of the 2003 National Championship while the humans overwhelmingly chose USC. It is strange that LSU would then be hurt that the humans didn't give them as big of props in the following years. If they wanted to feel the love they should have consulted with the computers. Beep Boop Geux away.
Since start of BCS in '98 EVERY football team in the country's MAIN GOAL was to PLAY in BCSNCG. If you say different you just lying to yourself. At START of '03 season EVERY TEAM in the COUNTRY wanted to play in the SUGAR BOWL. sc trojan coaches, team, support staff and the mighty troy nation ALL wanted to END the season in
NOLA NOT in the rose bowl.
ONLY REASON you jumped LSU in the polls was because YOU LOST FIRST and had more time to move up in the standings. Just a couple of years later the LSU tigers became the 1st 2 loss BCS champions. Somebody was LOVING on them. LSU was also the FIRST TWO TIME BCS champion. Tigers have THREE titles this century. How many for the boys of troy?
Tigers going to stomp a mudhole on sc in vegas.
😂
#3 Ranked 11-1 USC beats #4 Ranked 10-2 Michigan and that equals a National Championship? Make that make sense.
@@Amocat1 USC was ranked #1 in both major polls; the Coaches and the AP. The computers chose to match up the #2 and #3 teams in the Sugar Bowl. The #1 and #4 teams played in the Rose Bowl.
The computer algorithm that matched up #2 and #3 was so obviously flawed that it was never used again. They tried a few more times before finally admitting that the BCS model was a stupid concept that didn't work.
USC’s SOS was well below LSU and OU’s, though granted OU’s loss was much worse than LSU’s or USC’s. Regardless the waterford crystal is in Baton Rouge and that’s the trophy that matters from that era.
Both teams have so many question marks no one can say with any certainty what will happen on September 1. Both will likely be better defensively. Both have big shoes to fill on offense. But LSU will roll out a new look ball control offense, behind a new look offensive scheme for the O-line, which is already experienced and talented. SC will have no tape on that and how well they adapt on the fly may be the difference in the game.
If YOU know LSU will have a more ball control offense - I fcng hope our defensive coaches might suspect that, too, & be ready for it ✌️✌️
@@frunkdup828 Knowing it's coming doesn't tell you how it's going to be executed.
@@frunkdup828knowing it’s coming doesn’t mean anything, LSU probably has the best and most experienced OL in the country
LSU has a clear advantage at OL, WR, TE and LB... every well else could be debated, but I'd put it at a push.
Our lb wr will beat anyone on lsu . Yall have the better oline that I’ll say but I’ll also say our db an safety hands down way better then lsu bye far
SEE U AFTER THE GAME. BRANCH AND ROBINSON are 5 STAR CHIPPERS But watch the games becaue its the other 2 that will smoke LSUs secondary. All good bro I appreciate the Tigers afterall both CHASE N NEFFERSON are my boy… but not this year .
Very good respectful information filled podcast. Good luck to you Trojans on the season. But go Tigers "Allez les Tigres"
See you boys in Vegas #GeauxTigers

ENOUGH TALK. I already have the money at USC 30 LSU 16. Come at me after the game. Also looking at some of the crazy parlays COLORADO will more than likely STOMPED NDSU mush to my chagrined. FSU will cover vs GEORGIA TECH… NOTRE DAME over TEXAS ANM And last special is MIAMI AT FLORIDA TAKE the GATORS.
GA Tech already won the game against the Seminoles! 😮
Florida St will cover. Lol
LSU 38 USC 27
At least
These SEC records are a joke. 10-3 and they play 3 FCS schools
I know, what a joke. 14 of the last 21 titles are from the SEC, total joke. Similar to the USC program, which hasn’t been relevant since Reggie Bush and Matt Lienart. Oh, one last thing my guy, LSU has one FCS school on their schedule, in state of LA Nicholls State, it helps their budget by getting a large pay day.
@Trojan What the hell are you on about?
Football fans in west coast are a joke
30-30 ....36-30 in ot busts the bets
USC is soft just like it's coaches
💜💛
Sory u lost u s c
As an LSU fan, I never wanted Lincoln Riley. As in my mind he couldn't field a decent defensive team and look, he still hasn't done it at USC.
I also didn't know Brian Kelly was a target.
I was lobbying for Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin was the coach I wanted and he would have been as good or better than Brian Kelly. The knock on Kiffin was he was too immature. Yet, today, everyone wants him.
Moreover, I didn't want Kiffin making Ole Miss a dominate competitor. Yet, that's exactly what he has done today.
I know USC hates Lane Kiffin, but Lane Kiffin isn't the same coach he was at USC.
SC doesn’t hate Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin likely doesn’t like SC though with the clowns that fired him on the tarmac
LSU dline coach is not the best in country.
NO Bo Davis is just the BEST DT coach in the country and Kevin Peoples is the BEST DE/edge coach.
I know, he’s number 1.
Ok Walter, who is lol
LSU 38 USC 28
48 to 3
@willsummers1245 This would be fun
