Just weighing in here: Head Voice and Falsetto are not the same thing. With head voice, the vocal cords are still connected. In falsetto, they are not. You can add extra resonance into head voice, or mix head resonance with chest voice vocal chord connection for a "mixed" tone. You can't do either of those with falsetto. What Kevin was using here was head voice, not falsetto (to be precise, when he first starts singing he is using chest voice or a chest dominant mix, and then he switches to pure head voice). Just clearing up the confusion.

I think that now that she's shown everyone (including PTX) that she can kick ass as a solo artist, she needs to be given (or take), more lead roles in their songs. Scott and Mitch are always the main leads. Pentaholics go crazy over Mitch's vocals, especially in Aha & Scott's vocals, especially in Cracked. Kirstie needs a lead like those, that show off what her voice can do… Rather Be and Water, may be her lead songs, but they're not 'special' in the same way. They are straight forward, no nonsense, lovely leads. Avi's solos were always showcased - because he always sung them on his own, with no special vocal backing - Standing By and Light in the Hallway. You got to hear that he sings Baritone, so that's special. So, in my opinion, it has always been Kirstie and Kevin who have been underrated, whilst Mitch and Scott who have been venerated. Kirstie and Kevin only get to briefly shine in their 'Evolution' songs. Beyoncé for Kirstie and Michael Jackson for Kevin. Oh! And now Imagine for Kevin! The amount of various things that Kevin can do, just shows how hard he diligently works at it! He wasn't a singer before PTX, Scott encouraged him to pursue it, he did and now he's making history (& music)! When he decides to do all this with an original K.O. score, we will be Blown Away! This is just another step on his onward trajectory! I'm SO impressed by and pleased for him! This has been my favourite solo project by the Pentatonix group this year! They've all been interesting, but (dare I say it…) ordinary!!! This. This is totally unique! No one else is doing this! So an added comment - in a crazy world and from an old guy. When I was a younger man, let's say 1974 or so - I sang the lead on a song that was difficult, with leads on two organs, and two guitars (1 bass of course)... the house of the rising sun was the name. My connection here is only one of the organ players, Mark Sp. He was phenomenal, and he could tune huge pipe organs in a downtown church in Rock Island. Amazingly talented! I sang o.k., I definitely knew the song - but he was so amazing. He worked for Hammond Organ for awhile after school. Anyway, sorry to waste people's time here, but music saves our souls, in ways we can't define. I did not put in his whole name because of the internet issues, but he was wonderful. As was everyone else. It built up a lot of credibility for me in high school as well (which I'm sure most can appreciate). I love Kevin's capabilities, they are ridiculously good. But I'm glad he's having with Pentatonix, because I do want to hear more of his voice.

His talent is amazing. There's no denying that. But there's something else at play here, and that's hard work. Many, many people may be just as talented, but how many take the hours and hours of creative endeavour, practice, development? He had to create each level of the music, and work them all together as a cohesive whole, and then he had to practice it over and over to get it to this level of genius. Musicianship such as this starts off with undoubted talent, but what lifts it into the stratosphere is the commitment, the passion, the heart, the determination that are the bedrock of character.

Dirk Häger oh it most certainly IS God given. But it's also taking that God given raw talent and working hard at perfecting it!
The amount of various things that Kevin can do, just shows how hard he diligently works at it! He wasn't a singer before PTX, Scott encouraged him to pursue it, he did and now he's making history (& music)!
When he decides to do all this with an original K.O. score, we will be Blown Away! This is just another step on his onward trajectory!
I'm SO impressed by and pleased for him! This has been my favourite solo project by the Pentatonix group this year! They've all been interesting, but (dare I say it…) ordinary!!! This. This is totally unique! No one else is doing this!
And the way that he was able to do this live, means that he can do it in front of a live audience! So… tour dates! I would buy a ticket! The only thing is, I'm in the UK! Those of you in the USA would get there 1st!

So an added comment - in a crazy world and from an old guy. When I was a younger man, let's say 1974 or so - I sang the lead on a song that was difficult, with leads on two organs, and two guitars (1 bass of course)... the house of the rising sun was the name. My connection here is only one of the organ players, Mark Sp. He was phenomenal, and he could tune huge pipe organs in a downtown church in Rock Island. Amazingly talented! I sang o.k., I definitely knew the song - but he was so amazing. He worked for Hammond Organ for awhile after school. Anyway, sorry to waste people's time here, but music saves our souls, in ways we can't define. I did not put in his whole name because of the internet issues, but he was wonderful. As was everyone else. It built up a lot of credibility for me in high school as well (which I'm sure most can appreciate). I love Kevin's capabilities, they are ridiculously good. But I'm glad he's having with Pentatonix, because I do want to hear more of his voice.

His talent is amazing. There's no denying that. But there's something else at play here, and that's hard work. Many, many people may be just as talented, but how many take the hours and hours of creative endeavour, practice, development? He had to create each level of the music, and work them all together as a cohesive whole, and then he had to practice it over and over to get it to this level of genius. Musicianship such as this starts off with undoubted talent, but what lifts it into the stratosphere is the commitment, the passion, the heart, the determination that are the bedrock of character.

Conspiracy Theory: Kevin is not a human. He is a robot made by the rest of the members of Pentatonix because they need a beatboxer, and since they could, they gave him a bunch of insane abilities, such as playing the cello, speaking Mandarin, singing, and beatboxing. Any fetus pictures you've seen are pictures of random kids who happen to look like Kevin and match the backstory they've given him.
