Season 6 they were thrown overboard by the inexplicable insatiable imitable denial of Jacob to leave them anywhere as you would presume that most holy rollers who have disciples behind them are leading them to a destination and in this case it was to protect the light of the island which turned out to be returning to the light beyond the threshold of the church entrance, who the hell knows where they went all I can say is luckily for them they took a key character with them who was a game changer before you can likely be a game changer once again and that is the good John Locke who was pleasantly content of the ideal that Jack had cured him of paralysis, but as he gets out of that wheelchair and he's being all kosher as if hidden in plain sight along with the rest of the crew who are happy for God knows what reason nobody really understood that it was their destination that was compromised but what good is there a reunion if they had not known where they were going and of course Sun who was startled by locks presents in the alternate universe in which they found themselves typically forgot to bring it to a head before they walked through the light so whereas you have been Linus sitting on the bench outside the church as if he has a trick up his sleeve it's locked that's going to bring them back out of the delight and perhaps still be closer to the heroes than they are be like something of yeah they'll be like they all have f****** Powers you know that's what I would want to see but not so marvel rather DC universe to make it more realistic is the idea John would be the smoke monsters still but the other ones would have the same sort of luciferian like degrees of arcane abilities.

Now see perhaps there will be a place in which they go or okay so they would have to come John would have to search for their soul so what would he have to look for their shadows and it would be his combination of electricity electric current and the black smoke which would allow I don't know for some way to retrieve the candidates I don't know how I'm just like that that really works your mind you know having a f****** deal with it you got to think how did the light make the smoke monster in the first place so it's like you're dealing with it mathematical calculator in a sense which is why when John works for the box company he's good with the calculator that makes the same sound that the smoke monster makes is cricking like a type writer, I wish you would have believed me Jack becomes a verse of reassurance outing quotes like 316 with the time it took syeed to drive a stake into locked chest it's because he has to deal with them like brats one by one he even tries gathering then for therapy, reaching out to their flaws in order to steer them closer to him for his mindset on the future matches the mib

YES exactly. i always see people saying the ending was terrible, but i loved it. then again i think it depends on what you were most focused on when it comes to the show. mysteries and all were cool and i was always looking forward to finding out new things even if there were some... holes in the plot, but the characters and their relationships were so soooo good that's what actually kept me watching. so an ending focused on how important their bond was? best one for me

what a great video. And also it's good to hear from somebody who captured the essence of the show. 90% of time people who talk abut only focus on the lack of answers while the show it's never been about that but always about the healing jorney of these people through connections on that island. I don't know if they should've cleared that before by not setting all this expectations about a rational explaination. But I really loved how they slapped us in the face for believing even for a moment that the ending would've been about answering questions. In that case jack's journey would have made no sense .

This is just wrong. You all missed the point of the show. The Man In Black is actually not evil at all. All he wants is to leave the island and not be a prisoner to some made up rules by the woman who murdered his real mother. He also gets killed and turned into a monstrosity by his own brother and betrayed multiple times by the people he is trying to get off the island (Oceanic 815 group). So, the Man in Black is the only good guy and everyone else is evil and if you somehow got this the other way around you missed the point of the show.

Great work! I just finished my third watch through the series, this time with my 12 yr old. It's been an excellent conversation starter on some pretty heavy subjects, and he seems to love it as much as I do. When we got to the finale he didn't want to watch it because he wouldn't get to be with the characters anymore when it was all over. We're looking for another show to watch together, he says he wants something serious again and probably similar thematically to Lost. PG-13ish. He's used to swearing just not lots of sex and gore. Any suggestions?

Even though it's a comedy, I'd highly recommend giving The Good Place a try. I am watching this with my 14- and 10-year-old because I want them to consume something better than the dross TV shows made for kids these days. For a comedy show, it still covers some pretty weighty ethical and philosophical concepts (well, for your average 12-year-old, at any rate!), and, like Lost, it provides plenty of great conversation-starter fodder, explains morals and ethics in a non-preachy way, and has a totally fantastical plot that always ends on a cliffhanger. 1. They weren’t dead the whole time
    2. The flash-sideway was the bridge between their death and heaven. They had to amend/deal with their regrets/struggles. Jack had to be a father so that he could experience what his father went through and finally forgive him. Sayid helped Nadia’s husband because he blamed himself for her death in real life. Ben helped Alex with her Yale application because he blamed himself for her death. After they dealt their complexes, finally they arrived at the church
    3. Even though they died in different times, they all met at the heaven as if they just died. There was no waiting in heaven. When Kate said to Jack at the concert, “I missed you so much”..she meant that she lived a lonely life after his death.
    4. The bomb didn’t work. Ben wasn’t on that plane. Still he was a part of the flash sideways. So the “plane didn’t crash because the bomb go off” theory isn’t correct.
    5. Richard’s curse was over. He wasn’t immortal. His hair turned grey.
    6. Ben couldn’t let go off the guilt/regret of Alex’s death. That’s why he didn’t enter the church. Also there’s a chance Ben tried to betray Hurley after he replaced Jack. When Hurley said, “Ben, you were a great number 2”, I felt like Hugo was trying to forgive Ben for something
    7. Dr chang was the host of the Dharma initiative videos. He was the also host of the charity concert. Maybe he found redemption too
    8. Jacob’s death was little undercooked. The only way someone could kill him if the person stabbed him before he could speak. But before dying, Jacob had a full conversation with Ben.
    9. Eloise had very good knowledge about the island because she took Faraday’s book after killing him
    10. The show depicts that be careful what you wish for. Your blessing might become a curse. Jacob and MIB couldn’t kill each other. Richard couldn’t die. Blessing became curse
    11. The funniest thing was that a lot of people thought the LA part in season 6 was real just because Juliet said “it worked”. When sawyer unplugged the vending machine, she said the same thing Lol
    12. Aaron died too
    13. All of them had one thing in common..they got fucked up by their parents..just like Jacob and MIB did

He was 3 years old that we saw and had no reason to think he didn't live a full life! Where was Sun and Jin's daughter then? Hurley wouldn't have said Ben had done a good job if he didn't! Eloise was Faraday's mother who left the island pregnant to raise him! She only shoots him when he time travels because she doesn't know that is her son. Not ALL of the people brought to the island or the candidates had bad parents! Richard WAS ageless and immortal while Jacob lived because he wanted him to help lead the islanders. He had been there since the 1860's! Yes the bomb did go off they clearly showed that it did! But ridiculously it just jolted them forward in time. The bomb was never shown to crash any plane! The planes that crashed on the island were there because Jacob wanted them there and because they flew into the island's "bubble". Not even Desmond not turning the key in time in season 1 actually caused the first plane crash. I could go on but your obvious problem is revealed when you say "I felt...". Because that is all any of that is, what you feel.

The good the bad and everything in between. Some of them dying horrible deaths. And. I thought it was so beautiful that when one person regained their memories they immediately started trying to help the rest remember too. And then the closure you get at the end watching jack walk into the church and all you see is just smiles everywhere. Everyone is happy. No more pain. And they’re all together ready to move on

But then the kicker for me was Jack being the real heart of this show, when (let's be real) he's had ups and downs all throughout the show and wasn't always the most likable. The fact that he died for the island, dying enveloped in such an aura of faith, knowing his friends were safe and closing his eyes one last time being at peace with his mission... I can't stop crying thinking about it it's so frickin beautiful 😢

Could you do a video on how mental illness is portrayed and vilified (especially in the horror genre)? Many movies and TV show’s portrayals are dangerous because of their inaccuracies. Many projects also don’t seem to have any consultants to help get the portrayal right, not to mention the fact that the actors/actresses cast do not have any experience with and/or are not diagnosed with the disorder themselves (ex: Sia’s new movie is a bout a girl with autism but the actress playing her does not have autism).
Also I would love a video on the fiery red head trope. Red heads (such as Anne Shirley, Pepper Potts, Mystique, Sansa Stark (Kind of) Black Widow, Merida, Jessie from Toy Story, Jean Grey) are more likely to be characterized as passionate hotheads than blondes or brunettes.

yes, i was thinking of that with the show ratched and its depiction of multiple personality/dissociative identity disorder. people develop it in childhood as a response to trauma and are not violent because of it, but the character developed it as an adult and became extremely violent in a way that seemed correlated with her mental illness.
also, regarding horror, i recall seeing a video about the actor who played pennywise, and he talked about intentionally walking and talking in unpredictable ways to make the character unsettling. i can see the same kinds of acting choices when people play mentally ill characters.

Part of the issue with the show is that there were so many episodes per season and the network wanted more seasons than what the creators wanted to do. Had they had five 10-episode seasons that you could binge watch it would've been received a lot better.
The other thing I'll say is, if you binge watch it it's a much better experience than when it was on TV. You're less likely to get bogged down in the little mysteries that are ultimately not that relevant to the overarching plot. The real mystery is the characters.

The Good Place shows that you can actually do this sort of thing in a very entertaining and cohesive way with a resolution that feels like a product of the show we watched.
Lost was presented as a puzzle to be solved, then acted like it's audience was 'missing the point' by wanting those puzzles to be solved. You can't have it both ways. I always say that LOST is like life. You ask yourself lots of questions about the mysteries you encounter in one and the other. Sometimes you get the answers. Sometimes it's up to you to find them. Sometimes you make up your own answers. And sometimes you can't find the answers. Eventually, you can hope to find them all in the afterlife.
LOST is the perfect series for me, with the perfect ending.

So no one ever noticed the name of the show? Lost as in lost souls. It was all about hope and faith. Good and evil. Everything that makes us human and imperfect. Because we aren't inherently one thing or the other, were both. There cannot be any darkness without light. People just choose which one they want to be.

My favourite show of all time. It’s truly unbelievable the amount of people out there that refuse to give this show a chance, because they’ve heard completely out of context, false, and unreliable summaries about the plot and the ending.
Usually, their information comes from people that either haven’t even watched the show at all or people that tried watching it, misunderstood it, gave up and then probably skipped the to the final episode to get the answers and then when they were obviously and predictably let down, began ranting about how it’s ‘the worst show ever’.
Lost has to be the show that has suffered the most from extremely misinformed word of mouth.

Agree that I loved it, but I also see why many didn't. There were many people more focused on answering theories than the characters, even though the writers and producers had warned that if you were more focused on answers, you were bound to be disappointed. What's funny is they answered most of the major questions, even ones a lot of the unhappy people complain about, they just didn't pay enough attention.

I found the ending to be perfect. Too many viewers wanted the HOW's to be answered but lost track of the WHY things were happening as they were. The whole show was about light vs darkness, destiny vs fate, redemption for past mistakes and that we truly need each other to fulfil our purpose. These were all overlooked alot of times by most viewers. Any fan of Loat should watch The Leftovers, another fantastic series 👌👏
