  • Brandon and I installed the Rough Country 4 inch long arm kit on his 2004 WJ. All in all I recommend this kit if you have a WJ. The joints are solid, greaseable and rebuildable. Everything went together pretty well with the exception of the rear lower shock mounts. I wanted to try to get more of an installation video, but with work constraints that wasn't possible. I can't wait to see how it works on the trails!

Did you have trouble installing the second upper arm? ( holes not lining up)

I don't think we did. Make sure your arms are the same length. It is also possible your axle is bent. You are installing everything loose, correct?

Do you have any idea what caster or pinion angle you're running? I just got mine in and the driveshaft is making a lot of noise. I've got the pinion at about 4 degrees up which is putting caster somewhere around 5 degrees. Don't really want to go any further or my handling will suck. Maybe I need a different drive shaft? I rebuilt the factory double cardan but maybe I did something wrong. Any help on what angles are working for you would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know the exact angles, but you want the pinion directed as close as you can to hitting the transfer case with a straight line. Now you obviously need to balance your castor angle.
You want to use the double cardon, so it's possible the rebuild is a cause. I would run it without the drive shaft and make sure that's what's making the noise. It might be something else because you did just completely change the suspension.
Good luck and thanks for the comment!

You talked too much haha!!! I was trying to see what your rear arms look like because two guys in Jeep club said the lower rear arm on my sons wj looks upside down and noticed your arm is straight pipes, sons arms are curved. I guess it’s new designed now.

Yeah the are kind of flat, but they do curve outward from the frame side to meet up with the axle.
Thanks for the comment. Honestly not my best video, but I'm still trying to learn how to make videos people will enjoy and can help them out.

What are the 2in polymer spacers for ? I bought a wj with 4in long arm I just did the double cardan drive shaft to stop the vibrating but it's still there lol only thing I found the last owner didn't install those two polymer spacers as they were inside the jeep when I bought it . And also the 4x4 won't work in fulltime only part time and 4lo so I'm thinking maybe these spacers have something to do with it

Are you referring to the bump stops or spring isolators?

@@KJsProjects it was bump stops I figured it out lol

@@570outlaws6 Also I would look at your shift linkage on the transfer case. If it is out of adjustment it might cause your issues .

@@KJsProjects I appreciate the info thank you but I figured that out as well the long arms needed to be adjusted out 2inches and it leveled everything right up . Ughh what a headache buying something that some one had a problem with lol but hey at least it's fixed ...for now 🤣
