- I haven't posted a drum cover in a long time, I think its been over a year. I've been able to keep my posts updated with bands that I have been working with or have been on tour with. I've been on tour for pretty much the last seven months and finally came home in time to celebrate my 30th birthday! :D
I've been getting way more into the rock and metal stuff that's way more into writing a good song and less tech and wank. Maybe I'm just truly settling into my old people ways of just "listen to the song man" but nevertheless, I learned this one after hearing it on the radio and thus my transcription isn't entirely accurate as I misheard the opening hi-hats as chinas, makes sense considering how crushed the hi frequency gets on the radio.
Also, because I'm old you'll notice me looking at a chart that I wrote up to remember all the parts, I wanted to get this out quickly and just transcribed the tune really quick and that helped me turn this around so fast. I've been charting out things all year for the all bands I've been working with and I really can't imagine not charting out everything now at this point.
Anyway, my band Aviations has a record coming out on September 1st so expect to see more content about that in the coming weeks!

I tried to be as speedy as possible.
Very well played brother! And nice setup. Maybe my ears are playing tricks on me, but it almost sounds like the drums are hitting twice each stroke. I was thinking maybe its the recorded drums lining up just a tiny off of the original track, in which case you might be able to use some sidechain compression to duck the original track for a few milliseconds each time yours hit. Or if you're all lined up, just slide the backing track back or forward a tiny?
