Sideshow didn't say he was their 4th *best* player, he said he was their 4th *most important player* to their play style. And that's true even if he's arguably their most in-form player right now. He's the most standard player on the team, but they categorically need f0rsaken to achieve their W key gaming style, he enables everything and sets the tempo. Jinggg's aggressive space taking too, then something I think they said. Like Jinggg and maybe even moreso f0rsaken are completely irreplaceable in the job they do and the way they do it. There's not another player on the planet like f0rsaken. Whereas there are other people who play like D4V4I and do his job, he's just the best at it right now.

aint no way he's coming back rn at the very least, he's very much enjoying his time as a streamer, not to mentioned signed as an official costreamer for g2 for quite a bit at least. But I do agree that they really need a roster change, as good as the players may be on paper.

Btw 6 teams is NO EXCUSE to do single elim. A double elim playoff bracket with 6 teams is super easy:
1. Do a 4-team double elim "group" like they do at masters. The 2 winners of the stage skip this "group stage"
2. The 2 teams that came through the group + the 2 stage winners do a normal 4-team double elim bracket
It's literally the same as masters last year, easiest bracket of my life

@@musculusiv4172 Giving you the benefit of the doubt (and for anyone else reading this), the issue is that Riot wants a specific (low) number of games for the playoffs and this is way too many games. The goal for Riot (for multiple reasons including scheduling) is to keep the number of games 8 in playoffs. Your bracketing is two double elim brackets, meaning 6*2 12 games. I couldn't figure a way to do even 10 games with 8 teams fairly (even with single elim), 12 might be possible. Basically it's not just about not having it be a 6 team playoffs, but rather doing it under a certain number of games. That's why Sideshow says about adding more teams, it theoretically means the teams play the bottom half from your league, meaning the better team should always win. Plus it reduces the chance of #2 teams facing each other in a single elim bracket. A couple dirty versions of this could be done with 8 matches but at that point might as well have a 4 team playoff.
Of course a double elim bracket would be the best option, but a mixture of the existence of 11 teams this year and Riot's additional issues (be it time or money or something else), that just won't be imlpemented.

If there have to be ECACTLY 8 games or less then you're right there's no way around it... But the VCT is already extremely short with very few total games... I dont buy that adding only *3 games* per playoffs would break the league
@@musculusiv4172 Hm fair enough, I missed that detail. It's not about breaking the league, but the extra cost, time and workload added on the players and production team. Everyone agrees that Riot probably needs to spread the year out a bit more, which would make your bracket much more viable, but until then we just have to live with this monstrosity lmao

With yay ive heard other pros talk about it, picking the biggest org or the biggest bag is often a mistake if its not a team you want to play with. I know yay got the bag at bleed but its really not worth it at this point.
My Top 10 but in no Particular Order: Cryo, KangKang, Texture, Aspas, Leo, Alfa, Jingg, Something, Forsaken, Cned. PRX look the strongest coming into this event. I haven’t seen their’s yet, but I think their 10 will be similar.

Every player from PRX could've been on that list tbh. F0rsaken does play a lot of different agents at a very high level which brings a lot of freedom but overall I don't know if you can say that f0rsaken is putting up better performances on any of those agents than Jinggg is on raze or something is on jett.
Personally I think d4v41 has been their best player this split but like I said all of them could be top 10 imo.

My thoughts on format (I don't really know what I am talking about so I am open to discussion but be nice please :))
The format is not the best I will admit, but I think it is not ENTIRELY RIot's fault. one of FUT, NAVI and TH was never meant to be in Shanghai due to the randomness of groups. Furthermore, if the teams had been in their expected form (feels like the format relied on few consistent teams being on both groups, Alpha had none), I think the results would have been less revolting, but the teams were also mad up and down throughout the season. My issue isn't with anything other than one - that once the stage 1 regular season has ended, I would have liked the playoffs distribution be based off of the matches won combined for both group teams, not per group (two teams from one group could get first seed). I know the issues with that (if there's a good team on the other group but mid teams on this group farmed against weaker opponents to get 1st seed), but atleast it would be based off of hard results. Right now it feels robbery for NAVI to not be going to Shanghai, even tho it is understandable and this will happen often, no matter what the format is (two good teams on same side of bracket, three good teams in same group etc.). Imo Riot needs to introduce some performance based seeding instead of the random seeding, atleast in these elim situations
