Did you use waterproof outdoor paint on your hive?
Yes I did. Since it’s hard to repaint a hive once you put bees in it (you have to switch out the boxes so you don’t have any bees in the boxes obviously) I made sure the paint would last against both the weather and the sun.

I found this exceptional quality product called Vermont Natural Coatings that using Whey protein to have the sealer and stain sink 3X deeper into the wood to seal it from weather. Yet after applying that I'm using several stencils to decor each side, and wanted to protect the paint as well. So I just order a semi-glass spray paint by Rust-Oleum, simular to yours. Thanks you.
That sounds like a great product to use! Yes I love putting a clear coat after the paint, especially when I do hand painting.
