Speed champions are my favorite theme since the Camaro ZL1 came out, and it's amazing how more detailed the cars have evolved in this theme in the past 5 years. Can't wait for the June and August releases.
I have the original 2015 holy trinity (laf, 918, p1). I remember seeing that ferrari repair centre thing way back in the day and thought “the kids who got that were the luckiest kids in the world” I was like 8 😂
I rebuilt my brothers OG Ferrari Truck and 2 F1 cars + Pitstop Set. Was nice to see that almost no building techniques were used and everything was built to be used on a shelf and look good.
Yeah, that’s super cool you got to relive that! LEGO back then was for sure a more simple and displayable build process, but I also think LEGO is moving in a great direction.
For the 6-studs, the white and green Porsche 911’s (from two different sets) are my top two favorite Speed Champions cars. For the 8-stud ones, it’s the Lambo Countach and Nissan Skyline GTR so far.
@@Angry_Squirrel555 the Pagani is such a unique build, the curved windscreen is a great touch! But I also agree, the new Lamborghini might just top that!
I wish they still did some sets in the style of the old ones with more components and vehicles, dont forget the ford mustang and ford f150 set with the hotrod
I like they are now focusing more on the vehicle itself, but I agree that they do need to have more side builds and stuff! Really makes it set instead of one item.
My parents bought me the Ferrari scudura truck when I was about five and one day I accidentally broke it when I was in a tantrum from getting my hand stuck in a door , I still regret it to this day 😭😢
As a Mercedes F1 supporter, it pains me to not be able to get the original set now. It had minifigures with the likeness of Lewis and Toto (and maybe Nico too).
@@BrinkoBricks Oh thanks for the short review! My main point of interest is the W12 and the minifigure that looks a little like Lewis. Wasn't impressed by the looks of the AMG One tbh. The car looks much more boxy than it should've.
I miss the 6-stud wide cars and I’m so glad though that I got the Ferrari F1 truck set when it was new. The new F1 cars are very good though even though they’re 8-studs wide.
You’ve named some of the big dawgs there! Could agree more. These sets are iconic and are great examples of what speed champions needs to aspire to be like!

@@mozzarellabmx to be honest with you, I had no idea that even existed! Just had a look myself and I think I prefer that one! The grey on the truck breaks it up and makes it look less of a red box!
I also had a Ferrari pit set from around the same time that was also super cool. Looks like I'm going to have to go and find all my Lego from when I was a kid. Had a dyno/shop setup with some street tuners too, not sure if nostalgia or not but I feel like Lego adventured a bit more back then compared to now on their play style sets
@@mozzarellabmx deffo try and fine them! You sound like you have some pretty unique sets! I think it’s a bit of both, back then Lego seemed to experiment a little more but now sometimes it seems like a safe option is prioritised. Both have its pros and cons.
Its not the first or even second Ferrari truck. Though definitely a update of the first the second was a transport without a trailer. The need son Lancia cars now.
@@BrinkoBricks I moved to a new place of mine a couple weeks ago, moving furniture and stuff is easy, however finding a place for and putting up all of my LEGO Speed Champions sets is a pain in the b*tt because there are A LOT off cars. I'm planning on mounting some baseplates to the wall for them to hang them up.

The funny thing is, I tried getting that set in release but where I went it sold out so I held off. Picked up the AMG twin set instead which had plenty… will still pick up the BMW set and just hope I don’t have the hand shakes that day 😂😂

I do prefer printed bricks, but on these it would be too expensive to still be able to produce on mass. And brick building these details seems a bit too difficult even if I find it to be the most fun when it comes to details (Concorde is one with nice brick build details for example)
I have to admit having more then just the cars is a fantastic addition, although some sets just seemed to ‘fill space’ with pointless stuff, I do like how the 8 stud era has focused more detail into the main model thought. Great opinion thought.
Retired sets are becoming rarer and rarer. I was more getting at the fact that they’re becoming harder to obtain in this day and age and also finding new unopened boxes. But you are correct, they were heavily produced when they were in production.

The Pagani Utopia is by far the best of the 8-stud wide cars. The new Lamborghini may be even better though.

My older brother owned the set at 2:45 and I owned the large Ferrari truck at 3:39 and I still own it, same for the set at 6:01.
