It’s more than just the way he treated some consorts, but the fact that he gave his son a falling, opium addicted empire also makes me mad. But I mean…it is history though. As upset as I get about it, I can’t travel back in time to change it.

Consort Wang's life was truly sad but her soul had the last laugh. In the end, Emperor Wanli was buried with the two women he had hated and mistreated when they were alive, his Empress and Consort Wang.

Many members of the Ming imperial family had a violent nature. A servant could be killed with no consequences. It was a violent time during the Ming dynasty.
