Love cohesive bandages. My kids are always nicking and scratching themselves in weird places & those are perfect.

Thank you for the first aid reminder. Fortunately I have a basic first aid kit front and centre on my tool wall. I do need to get some of those cohesive bandages. They are great. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

They are expensive, but it wouldn't hurt if you can swing it to add a Soft T tourniquet (or a CAT, either way) for arterial bleeding control.
Less expensive but also recommended would be a roll of 2.5cm 3M Transpore (my favorite tape), but the paper tape you have will probably be adequate just pull a little out and fold the corner over so you can peel it more easily under stress.
Back to expensive a decent set of trauma shears wouldn't hurt, or if thats too much even an affordable disposable set will probably be better than the scissors you have if someone needs to cut away a sleeve or pant leg to get to a wound, but if you go the affordable unbranded route test them on some old jeans or something to make sure they are not total junk, but dont test them too much or they will go blunt.
I keep aspirin (heart attack) and panadol in most of my kits, you may already have them close elsewhere though.
Most first aid kits will have some nitrile gloves but if your only caring about yourself then giving them a miss wont hurt.
A single use ice pack wouldn't hurt, particularly if your already going to have an amputation bag there.
Final suggestion for you for now would be a few large prep pads, probably containing chlorohexadine but alcohol or iodone or providine will also do the trick.

Good video! Many people DON'T have any 1st aid gear in the shed or work area but everyone should have at least one. Personally I also liked to have Betadine or Chlorhex based antiseptic close to hand as well because I lived out on a farm and often worked on poultry coops and rabbit pens and garden frames etc and there was always a risk of picking up some bacterial matter.

Which was handy when some old heavy aviary netting I was removing sprang back and 'nailed' one wire through my thumbnail (AND thumb!) and partly into the wood frame... I had tools to cut the wire 'pin' free, get to the shed and douse things with betadine then pull the wire right back out, and bandage it, all close to hand. Tetanus booster up to date too - I felt like a proper adult that day... hehehehehe... But I didn't need to go to ED, and my doctor next day said it'd been adequately dealt with and needed no further attention from him. So yeah people - make sure you have a suitable FAK close to hand. It could save you a LOT of costs and lost time and pain.

@@PTEC3D that sounds like an unpleasant day. I’ll take your advice and pop some betadine in my kit. Cheers.

Hi Richard. It is a Tactix storage case I bought from Bunnings. I think thay have changed the design since I bought those ones.
