Hello Lorenzo, there is always a first time. On a 40-year-old head, the press can do damage. Experience and a steady hand often make the job more accurate. Cast iron from the 70s must be handled with care. I don't like a hydraulic press. I prefer not to stress her too much.
Hello Robert . As you could see in my other videos, this cat had literally dancing valve guides. They were really worn out. I don't think this was the big problem. Removing the valve cap and leaving the engine running I didn't see all of this oil flowing into the guides. Disassembling the old piston rings, the problem was in the worn oil scraper rings. Surely with the valve guides worn out by sending the engine at high speeds, it is likely that oil flows in the guides. I'd say 70% piston rings 30% valve guides. It is better to remove the engine from the bottom. A few hours and everything is done. If you need to ask and I'll help you with the procedure. Why do you have to disconnect the transmission and bolts that hold the engine to the frame. I tell you it is very simple to do.
@@thecatSimo Thanks! The Video’s you are making is very helpful and I greatly appreciate the detail you’re putting in these videos to help me do all of this! As far as the cylinder walls on your machine did you touch them or just put new rings on the piston and slide them back in?
Then . I measured the cylinders with a bore gauge. The original size is 120.65 mm. The specifications speak that it is possible to reuse the same cylinders within 120.78 mm. So it is very important to measure the hole. The cylinder is measured everything, but it is very important to measure it at the top where the combustion step is located. In my case I was within spec so I lapped the cylinder. Unfortunately the camera did not record .. But I advise you to replace the cylinders, the expense is minimal. With $ 200 you change all 4 cylinders
I LOVE YOUR DOGS , YOU,VE GOTTA BE A GOOD GUY
First time i see instaling valve guides with a hammer.

Fit a Turbo charger and make it into a 955
It's not needed, it's already powerful enough
