Nice review! I love that you often perform a trick from whichever book being reviewed in the video. It really helps me get the style and type of trick, and what to expect from the book.
So glad it helped - thanks for watching and taking time to comment!
Great review.
Love this new setting!
Thanks!! 😁
Thanx for the review. I ordered the book today.
Awesome - enjoy!!
If you're looking for Volume One call Haines House of Cards and ask for Alicia. They have a handful of copies.
🔥🔥🔥 - hot tip here! This one is hard to come by and is one of the best in the series!! Thanks for sharing, Dave!
I have called and left voicemails for them, I have my fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip.
@@ScottRSmith1964 are you local to Cincy? If so they will be open Tuesday - Saturday.
@@ImpromptuCardMagic I live near St. Louis, Mo. I’m on vacation in Charlotte, NC. Lol. I’m sitting in my car at an outlet mall waiting for my family. I’m checking out online stuff and reading magic books.
Called and they just ran out of Volume 1, but do have volume 2.
Kudos for the Komprehensive Kowalk review, again!!! (PS - thanks for mentioning my book)
I used to go to a brick and mortar magic shop and the Nick Trost card tricks always fooled me.
They're great!! Do you remember the names of any of your favorite tricks?
I took a second look at this to try to figure it out and I did. DDC strikes again. Good job Nick
Nick's the man!!
Nice review. Waiting for mine in the mail.👍👍😊
Great, hope you enjoy! 👌
Nice performance!
Thanks, Jerry!
Nice trick! I also like the new setting
Thanks! Tabletop seems to be popular 👍
Wish I had the opportunity to learn about some of these books long ago. This video also makes me want to go back and watch the TV show Deadwood. So good.
I haven't seen Deadwood. What about it makes you want to watch the show? 😄
@@EruditeMagic You are missing out. Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane lead a great cast of people all living in the town of deadwood. Olyphant as a former sheriff finds himself in the midst of trying to make a living and trying to keep some kind of order in this lawless town. Plus Ricky Jay is in ten or so episodes. Not family friendly, not politically correct but if you like good drama and really good writing you are in for a treat. The same actor, Keith Carodine, that played Pennie's father on big bang and the president on Madam Secretary plays Wild Bill Hickock.
Amazing review!!
Thank you, Sean! 🙏
Great review! I fell in love with this series and had no idea it would go beyond book 7. Do you know how many more there will be past 8? How do we know this is Nick Trost’s work? Thank you.
He laid them out before he passed with ideas from his journals. I believe there will be 9. His family is still alive and H&R books is a very reputable publisher.
@@EruditeMagic thank you! I sure appreciate your book reviews.
I'm glad you find them valuable!
Hello! I was re-watching your book-collection video. You mentioned that you bought the mentalism book “Miracles of My Friends Vol Two” for one particular trick in it. I never heard of this book before. Can you do a quick review video on this book? Thanks a lot !
It may be a while since this book has less broad interest than others. But I have it on the list!
@@EruditeMagic Ok thank you!
Thank you for the review. How would you compare this series with Steve Beam's Semi-Automatic series?
Steve Beam's Semi-Automatic series is far more polished than this series. This set of books were ideas notebooks that Nick laid out before he passed. All of the tricks are finished, but Steve's publications have a lot more time in the saddle and typically span a much broader list of contributors. That's my opinion, anyway!
@@EruditeMagic Awesome thanks for the reply! I plan to pick up Steve's set when I can afford it. Hopefully he'll have a sale!
Great review as always!! Are you planning to come to MagiFest (in person) this May?
I am indeed! You?
@@EruditeMagic absolutely!! Hope to have the chance to meet! 😊
Plan on it!
I can't find the card magic of Nick Trost, if I get these instead, should I get volume 1? Or which is best? Lol
Volume 1 certainly has the most information: it has an entire appendix of slights in the back
Trost, like toast. I've been pronouncing it incorrectly all this time. Thanks.
No worries - I pronounced it wrong for years! 😆
