    For those of you who are unfamiliar with IWS they always do two videos per coach. One for the exterior another for the interior. Generally when you are watching either the inside or outside the companion video is almost always adjacent to the one you are watching. Not sure this is replacing the Renegade units but they are now be under the Thor umbrella and that might have something to do with the addition of Showhauler.

    My house is up in the hills, and there are a lot of steep driveways. I can't count the number of times over the years I've seen people with big 26' deliver trucks try to drive up them. Since the edge of the back bumper is like 8-10' behind the rear wheels, inevitably as the front starts to go up the driveway, that rear edge impacts the street. If they had a good head of steam, it's enough to make the back wheels lose traction and they can't get unstuck. I've seem a few wreckers show up. So I always thought it would be genius to put a big, heavy duty roller on that back edge. AND LOOK WHAT'S UNDERNEATH THE TRAILER HITCH OF THIS THING. Absolute genius.

    I promise you if I can get up the cash to purchase the motor home you have advertised I’ll buy from you. I am medically retired because of heartaches, but boss I owned and operated a machine shop here in the upstate of South Carolina and if I had a salesmen with your voice and be as informative as you are I sir would have been the biggest machine shop in the state! I’ve always wanted a motor home and as I said before with you salesmanship there is NO QUESTION that I would buy from you. I really do want to thank you for your presentation because it sold me more than I already was, and hell boss I’m 62 years old! Thanks again from SC.

Not sure if I'd call it a dent or rather deformed Aluminum skin, either way...agreed that it takes away from the "want factor" with the way that back curbside panel distorts. Then again, look around at 90% of all RV's on the road and you'll see this same issue somewhere on their skins too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...YMMV

    With that rear overhang, you better be careful turning corners, not to wipe out a vehicle beside you. Nice unit though. I'll take one of these units over a class A any day. Way more heavy duty frames.

    •  5 лет назад

      What? It's not turning on it's axis, it's moving forward and turning on an arc. It's not even 8 ft. compare it to him when he's back there, the biggest single axle winnebago has 10 ft.

    • @Erin-Thor
      @Erin-Thor 5 лет назад

      Mathew, Arnold is talking about the overhang at the rear, as you turn the back end is going to swing out a bit. That’s why you see many truckers take up both lanes when turning so they clear on BOTH sides, even though all trailers have the rear wheels on the far back end. It’s a safety thing.

    I would agree as well. yes the paint in great, but darker color bring out ALL the flaws in the finish. The other downsides I see, is the blind spot indication, its stupid expensive and not needed as in my Kodak chassis has a 3 way split screen showing at all times both sides and the rear. This is a nice coach, but this sales guy mentions allot of stuff as an optional side markers what they are required by DOT....and no idea what the real cost is. It’s just boring for me. JUMHO.

    Chuck,
    What is in the fourth compartment back on the curb side? I think you missed showing that one.
    Have you ever thought of inserting 20 or 30 seconds of video with the scene lights illuminated at night? You always talk about them but it would be nice to see them in action. Maybe the same thing with the docking lights and the lights under the awning? I am always curious how much light those scene lights actually put off.
    I also noticed that the slides on this motor coach appear to be engineered very differently than the slides on other coaches with the visible brackets on the outside when the slides are extended. Maybe the next time you do a video with a ShowHauler you could talk about the difference in the slide mechanisms?
    If you continue with the new style of videos I think it would be nice to have the camera zoomed in a bit closer as you are talking about features on the outside of the coach. When the camera is panned out to the see whole coach and you are standing at the front you are too far away to really see so it kind of defeats the purpose.
    I really enjoy your videos and look forward to every one that comes out. Thanks for providing so much information on these coaches.

    • @JonPoklop
      @JonPoklop 5 лет назад

      Showhauler in the past (and maybe still today) used an electric motor to power the slides instead of hydraulic. They claim that is better because if the motor ever fails, you can crank in the slides manually. The brackets you see are adjustable to make sure the slide seals properly. You can also access the gear mechanism from under the slide to lubricate it. I don't know if that is better or worse than other manufacturers, but it is different.

    • @cdiesel0
      @cdiesel0 5 лет назад +1

      Well Don, that would be a great idea if I was able to make it down to the RV supershow in Tampa in January. Which is the only RV show that Showhauler has on their schedule. I will definitely try to stop in to IWS the next time we make it through Mountain Home ID though.
      These coaches are very rare. That is why so many of us here appreciate Chuck and IWS for doing such detailed reviews online. Running down to the local RV dealer or RV show is not an option with these coaches.

  • @Apollo9733us
    @Apollo9733us 5 лет назад +1

    For a coach this size (45 foot) there is very little storage basement, one small pass through and the other on the rt front side which is not that large for a coach this size. Also it should carry 200 gallons of fuel, if it can't do at least 1000 plus miles what is the point? The generator uses fuel also, you need bigger fuel tanks. All and all I am not impressed, rather disappointed in the specs. Huge price tag I am sure...not worth it!!!

      96ChevyDually6.5L it has aluminum panels riveted to a frame. The purpose is for the panels to flex and move due to length. You can’t weld it solid because of weld failure. All trailers, buses and planes are built using the same techniques. Color also exaggerates the waves in the panels.

    The detroit power system is nice,I drive professionally,I have driven the other automatic systems detroit has the 2nd best out there,Volvo has the best,the detroit has a better engine brake system though,freightliner and volvo have redone there class 8 trucks (this is built on the class 8 chassis) the new volvo is far superior to freightliners,keep in mind freightliner is built to be cheap as well as the detroit system,it's why you see so many being used by companys,it's your one of folks thinking on getting something like this and your used to a caddy,bmw, Mercedes ect ect go with the volvo.
    Also as the selling point being it can haul up to 80,000 pounds..first off keep in mind driving,stopping and everything is not as easy as people think,I would urge anyone that has never driven something like this,take a cdl class,the difference of you hitting someone with your car or man-van is this will kill not just the people you hit but the next dozen in front of them,please don't be ignorant getting and driving this,not only the law suits there is a good chance of going to jail.
    Also keep in mind ANYTHING with airbrakes requires a minimum of a class B license.

    I stopped watching these, as interesting as they are, he won't give a clue to price. Info matter's. I can just imagine those big nice door's for passenger side storage flying open doing 75 through Kansas.

      IWS has it priced at $499,000

      The basement storage doors open into the direction of travel which would make a 75 mph opening impossible. Most all new coaches open the same way.

      Most won't talk price, manufacturers forbid it on you tube. If your not in the market for a 600K Super C. Then look at a less expensive Renagade Super C like the Verona or Vera Cruise both legit Super C's. IWS strikes me as a Straight Shooter!

    You need to be careful mixing up Aquahot with the ITR (Oasis) products. They are two different companies & might get a bit testy with you mixing the names of their companies together. ITR, being Canadian, will probably be too polite to raise a stink, but Aquahot, based out of Colorado, might get their attorney to take the matter up with you. I have a smaller ITR unit in my rig & like it fine, but they are both good companies.

    Why are these companies not installing "in-motion" dish systems?

    • @JonPoklop
      @JonPoklop 5 лет назад

      You can do an in-motion satellite, but they can only lock on to 1 satellite at a time so your DVR will not work. The theory is you load up your DVR when you are parked and watch recordings in motion. I say if you are spending this much on a coach, you do both.

    two questions do you need a CDL too drive it and the second is do you have too pull into weigh stations while on the freeway for weight.?. beautiful coach.

    • @J.Vic801
      @J.Vic801 5 лет назад

      You would need a class b cdl for weight and air brake and no you would not have to stop in weight stations. You are not commercial.

    from the looks of this thing, it's got to be $500-600k dollars. i went to the link listed below for the video on the interior and wow... was that disappointing!! for the kind of money this thing probably costs, you can buy a Class A Motor Coach with an interior that looks like a millionaire's Manhattan apartment. i can see NO reason to buy this vehicle considering what other options are available in this size and price range.
