Vergara portrayed this role incredibly and yes, you see the moment Blanco begins to spiral like so many real and fictitious “crime bosses” we’ve seen before. The intoxication from power (and mind altering substances) creates paranoia and mistakes. Her decline wasn’t as disheartening to me as the fact that she tried to do it all for her kids, “protect” and create a plan and a life for her kids, and wanted for a different life for them but in the end the life is what determined their fates as well. Great watch.
