    Thank you for making this video, it appears to be the only explanation on how to make these adjustments.

    Thanks for the info that you shared on the C4 corvette window , especially about the tilt in toward the car or out away from the car, I’m having an issue with new weatherstripping not fitting with the glass, ( rain leak) I’m hoping tilting the glass in toward the car just a bit will help this, I’m new to all this but your video has helped me to understand how to work toward fixing this issue.

      I'm glad this helped you. It sounds like we agree...showers and car cruising should be done separately. :)

    On my 85 Vette, on side is fine the passenger side when I run it up it doesn't go all the way up, if I open the door and run it up it's fine, now I need to work on the rear adjustment. Thanks a bunch!!

      It sounds like there may be bumping something that makes it stop. Perhaps have someone else run the switch so you can carefully look at the window and diagnose it. I still need to tweak my driver's side window, if it is closed when I put it up the glass tilts outward too far until I open the door and close it again, then everything is just right. With cars this old I have determined there will always be a few small gremlins.

    Could a broken window guide be the cause of the window being out of adjustment? Thanks

    • @RandyBarton
      @RandyBarton  8 дней назад

      In my situation, the guides were not the issue, but depending on your unique situation, certainly.

    All you showed was where the adjustments were. You didn’t demonstrate how to adjust the window to fix it.

    Just finished replacing both the A and B pillar seals. Naturally the door glasses on both sides are not at the proper angle because of the new seals. So the hidden adjustment for angle is hidden toward the rear of the door? Thanks for any help

    • @RandyBarton
      @RandyBarton  3 года назад +1

      Yes. It is the one I point to and talk about at 2:13. However, part of your issue with new seals is breaking in the seals themselves, not adjusting the window. Often times new seals do best if you can close the doors carefully with the current adjustment and then park it in the sun for a few days...good luck with that this time of year (early December) if you live in a Northern state. All things considered, if you adjust the windows outward now you may need to tilt them back in once the seals are broken in or the windows could leak air or water.

    My window has same adjustment issues. Seems like a lot of play in the side to side and front to back. Any thoughts

      It has been over 2 years since I did this, but I'll do my best to help you. For side to side motion, there should be a few felt or velvet covered window guides just beneath the window sill, where the window comes out of the door, that can be adjusted in and out to keep the window from flopping around, especially when the door is opened or closed. For front to back motion, it could be that your bolts are simple loose or a mechanical malfunction that needs replaced, but it could also be the the front window stop (look at 1:40) is out of adjustment.
      I hope this helps.

    Looks like old style tape window regulator. You can upgrade to later window Regulators which are better and they bolt right in.

      The timing of your comment is perfect...I just got the new on in the mail this week. Last year I replaced the driver's side and this year I'm doing the passenger's side. Wow, what a difference!

    So how did you adjust so it didnt hit the rear of the body ?? This is the most common issue

    • @RandyBarton
      @RandyBarton  5 месяцев назад

      Adjusting the bolt I point to at 1:42...that bolt fixed my problem. Loosing the bolt allows you to slide the "window stop" mounted behind it. Do not remove the bolt. Loosen it, adjust the stop, and re-tighten it. Mine was loose the stop was flopping, thus allowing the front of the window to go too high and pivot the top-rear corner toward the B-pillar.
