    Today I am attempting to turn a strangely small walk-in closet into a much bigger closet by adding some much needed storage. I built some cabinets out of oak veneered plywood that included two banks of drawers as well as plenty of hanging space. This build was a fun challenge to maximize the useful space in such a compact area. And I don’t build a lot of cabinets, so it was a fun change of pace to the usual furniture builds we have around here.

    The author does like to ruclips.net/user/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

    This feels like a more "old school Shaun or Chris" video and I love it; you guys don't need to try to be cool, you're cool by default - more like this please!

    • @chunkymurps
      @chunkymurps 2 года назад

      I don't know if they're cool by default but they're woodworkers, not comedians. Since they teamed up i've enjoyed their videos less and less and although i like the work that they make i find myself skipping though the videos or not even watching them at all these days, unless they are videos like these, which is the type of video and the reason why i started watching "old school Shaun and Chris" in the first place.

      One word...... Absolutely-gorgeous.

    I like this format. I think the voice-over “watch as we watch” is a good format, and this is exactly the kind of project that works for that format. Thanks for sharing your work, and your process. The finished project looks really good!!

    I've watched you guys for a long time and part of that reason is because what you do is amazing
    It's just as good to watch you do much more attainable work for us normal woodworkers

    When trimming edge banding flush, I always put a piece or 2 of blue tape where the bearing spins, this helps so you don't get any weird bearing marks and also gives you a TINY bit of banding to sand back so you're not messing with your veneer. It seems to help for me :)

    Love this format of video! The best parts are when you are dropping a little side note/quip - the whole "it's going in my house and I just have to look at it and be annoyed, every day" type comments make the video so good

    It's nice to see some real world problem solving for normal size spaces, I liked the format used it was kind of between your 2 channels and I think it worked well with the project if that makes sense.

    I agree with CCooperDev about the level of polish being better in your normal format. But, I think you could become more polished as you do more of these types of videos. If this is a way that you can produce more content, then great. If this is an alternative to your normal video format - then I don't think its so great. It is great to try something new, even if it doesn't work.

    Would've been nice to see the right side notched out to reveal the window better. I feel like pieces in tight spaces like this have much less need for symmetry, since you can't stand back and observe it really well. It's a nice piece that could move to any future space though.

    Ok guys, have to say it : it takes no more than 3 clicks to get to the customization page on which you can change the channel's name into Foureyes. DO IT ALREADY !!
    On a less pressing note, i liked that format, and the build as well. Smart move thinking ahead of the final assembly to use the second box as potential adjustment. It's a little thing but I'm fairly sure most amateur builders wouldn't plan that far ahead were they to start such a project on their own.

    You know what would look really nice, is if you would have kept those ends on the dowels you made. I've never seen someone make their own hanging rods before, but that's a great, quick way of doing it. You know, like if you would have measured your length then cut the stock, then routered it into a dowel with the square ends left. Then made some type of bracket for the square ends to hang in. That would essentially give you the opportunity to hide those screws as well. This was an amazing project. We're actually getting ready to remodel our basement into the master bedroom and we talked about building something like this in the closet for my wife. Except ours will have a section for a mirror and all her makeup
