Just epic. Love those roads, grew up around there... Have had my Mr2 a year now... currently scanning the bay for a K20. Go carefully, Dude. Would love to see this go round the TT course!
Hey Danny.🙋 I've really enjoyed watching this series, man. The little MR-S is a great machine! Even with its few quirks and shortcomings, it's managed to keep a sly grin on your face for a solid week. Can't argue with results like those.😆 You never know, it could end up back in your garage again some day... Keep hope alive.✊ Love those back roads over there in North Yorkshire.😍 Seriously beautiful country and it's nice to know the sheep don't mind the VTEC.👍😂 With guys like you and the dude rippin' by in the red Honda, they're probably accustomed to it.😅 I wish you could box up the car and ship it over to me now. The North Carolina mountains are beautiful this time of year and I know a few proper roads for a beast like that. Keep on with these great edits, mate. Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the M3 now after missing it for a week. I know you're ready to get back into that Pole Position again.😉 Have a good evening. Cheers!
+TheMick26 cheers bro! I'll have to get another GoPro/similar soon so I can get some better exterior shots of that road. I did have a copy GoPro that I use for my foot cam but it's pretty useless at anything but recording my feet! 🤣 cheers bro 👏
Fair play to Seb for lending it to you knowing it was going to get a work out 😉. In all fairness that's what it is built for 👍. Would be interesting to know how a properly sorted K swapped Mx5 would compare. I suppose you could argue it would be pretty similar to an S2000 but I just imagine the lighter weight/smaller car would feel more alive than an S2K 🤔.
Great review, hope you get more guest drives. I think you pretty much nail the paradox of the mid-engined car. I have owned two over the years and driven several others and loved them. Super engaging, fantastically nimble and when you get it right there's that lovely sense of apex tightening rotation and push through a corner. But you do have to get everything right all the time when you're driving fast. We need a review of a Mk1 Elise now...or a 4C.
Front engined rwd K20 engined car, mx5 is the answer! Blackcatmotosport down south are currently building one with the intention of selling kits so people can build their own.
Looks and sounds awesome. I know those roads quite well having worked on the rail. Used to blast my bike round there to then get a brew in settle. Nice vid👍
Need to go back to North Yorkshire.... I did the Yorkshire three peaks there a few years back and always wanted to revisit because of the stunning scenery/roads around the area.
If you think that is a good road Danny, then you would love some of the offerings that we have over here in NZ. I've owned (and loved) an unmodified MR-S for 14 years and to this day every drive in it is as enjoyable as the first. With it being unmodified I have never encountered any deficiencies with the brakes and I have a tendency to drive enthusiastically as frequently as I can. Yes, they do require a different driving style, yes, it doesn't pay to tense up and man handle the steering, stay nice and relaxed and treat the steering very much as if you were riding a motorcycle. On a motorcycle if you lean on the bars (particularly unevenly) you generate unwanted steering input. With the mid ship set up you have to modify your driving and in some ways replicate the riding of a motorcycle, so slow in then controlled fast out cornering is a must, too fast in and they will under steer, too fast out and they will under steer as well. Too much throttle out of super slow speed corners and even an unmodified MR-S will break traction at the rear. The MR-S has two worst enemies, wet roads, take care in the wet as all of the above is amplified, and mid corner corrugations, they hate them.
nice one mate! please keep creating and releasing content as frequently as possible - your never boring to watch and it's always a laugh and relatable/chilled, whatever the subject.
Smashing film Danny. Gotta love a nicely sorted car mate. Just took mine out for a blast. Out one way & back another. Great fun in the dark. Drive safe, enjoy speed 👍🏻
Those are some of my favourite roads, especially the one between Ribblehead and Horton in Ribblesdale! Every car I've owned I've took up there at the first opportunity! Great Video, loved the S2000 one as well
+Glynn C they're awesome aren't they? This was actually the first time I'd done it during the day, usually go late in the evenings when it's dead. Hard to learn a road at night though with my eyes 🤣
Man that car seems like a lot of fun. They say mid engine is supposed to be the best. Perfect motor for that chassis. Ultimate driving machine isn't that bmw's moto. Really cool you got to drive something like that for a rental. Dude built a good car.
Pleased you eventually found my favourite roads!!!....Hawes and all tributary roads around it are incredible (but test any 'track car' stiff suspension).
DannyDC2 IMO as great as the MRS drives I suspect the m3 will work much better on these roads - with more predictable handling and great stock suspension...
After all the overtakes in your intro when you said 'Let's go for a drive' I thought there was going to be more action, but you had the camera pointing round the wrong way 😂
drivers car dan, if you dont have the money to pay for the lotus chassis engineering, by far the mr2 2zz or k20 is the best alternative, im so glad you've reviewed this car! seb will you let dan take it on track, we need track footage next =)
+yoyocrackatow1234 I wasn't sure if I was too harsh on the seat whilst editing, but it really was uncomfortable after a few miles. It would be fine for a track car maybe if you're just doing
Any opinions on fifth generation preludes? Dead close to picking up a mint one. H22A5. Already got an ep3 and love it but with the winters where I am I want something I can bear beating on a bit more.
Shoot me down honda fans ....but I was hoping it had the 190bhp toyota 1.8 engine. Keeping it Toyota. That has a real old skool all or nothing VTEC approach. Worked well in the celica/elise
I have the 2zz swapped mrs and a 1zz stock mrs, the 2zz is still a bit underwhelming imo like daily it feels almost identical. The k20 sounds like it would be nice with the vtec hitting a lot sooner than the 2zz lift so you arent running 6-7k rpm every time you want to feel it open up
I have a feeling I’ll get a lot of hate, but I’m going to give my two cents anyway! Drive a Boxster, just to appreciate what a mid engined car can feel like (too soft for track but for everyday superbly damped and so balanced and capable) Similar to your E46 M3 they have really long ratios but nothing is perfect (unless you mod it to your preference, but then it becomes a subjective thing!) Just a quick note on you’re “mod the M3 or don’t”, make it your own! Too many people focused on what the next owner will want. Anyway keep doing what you’re doing, content is getting better all the time.
First thing I would do it I bought this mr2 is change the seat's and seatbelts can't understand why someone would have harnesses seatbelts unless it was a track car
I love the sound of that thing, the honda engine is way better than the toyota crap, it does look alot of fun to hoon about, You've got some sweet roads up north! Lol when are you drifting the e36 next?
Great driving skills!!! I would never have the ballz to drive Mine like that and it's got a Tein Electronic suspension and Garrett turbo. But the unsteer these have due to the mid engine scares the hell out of me. I'm thinking some chassis bracing is next. Can you tell us what suspension mods were done to that one?
Nice video once again Dan. As I live in Cornwall, maybe you could do a bit of a video telling us about some of the good roads in your area? I'm coming up to Telford in early November so let me know if you want to try my E30 M3? Mind you, how tall are you as the seat is fixed. It's only got about 240 brake (s14/2.3 with Schrick on DTA with carbon air box) but it's on KW's with 6 pot front callipers / DS2500's, staggered 17's & 888r etc. I know you get offered all sorts but the offer is there if you want it. :0)
Like your videos. They seem somehow honest, or i dont know how else to put it. This MR might be pretty cool from what you are saying. Not my thing, but that engine might change that. However i would like to know your opinion. I have currntly E46 M3 and i am thinking about getting S2000 instead. What do you think? The purpose is the same - weekend trashing on b-roads between Jura-Schwarzwald-Vosges. I think i could save some money on the car itself, but also service and potential tune ups. Both are now good investment items if you buy them in good shape and dont fuck them up too much.. Any thoughs? Thx
You wana try my 4pot megane 225 brembos on high carbon discs with good pads on my stripped out 172.. 😂😂 when hot there silly sharp!! You can't beat epic brakes, I can't stress that to people enough 😂😂 most don't listen, but when they experience it, its a different matter! 😎 K20 mrs is epic love it!!
if you ever want to try a track orientated rwd turbo volvo estate let me know and i'll lend you mine after winter once its working again same rules as this mrs loan drive how you like (trash it) as much as you like and feel free to take it on a track day if you want
So I own a mx5 and 350z I live near hawes and drive these kind of roads all the time the 350 is to big really cant decide if I should get a mr2 mk3 or build the perfect itb mx5 ... didnt like my mk2 mr2 wasnt chuckable

NOt the right hands, but here's my 2zz swap: ruclips.net/video/0uxGDw9Ud3c/видео.html There are some better laps from my visit this year with upgraded suspension on the channel too.
I've rarely seen you smile this much while driving. That says it all about this car.
The most random sentence in the world ever "the sheep aren't bothered by the V-TEC at all" 😜
I think they'd like the cross over point 1Krpm lower in the rev range, but apart from that they find it acceptable.
Scott Quattro all that VTEC must of enlightened him above the sheep
Sheep are not bothered by Vtec 😂
Literally ragged the shit out of it for a week lol
+L3eh123 I have a lot of mechanical sympathy lol. Especially with it not being my car. Then again, it's a Honda engine!
Golden days of this channel. Great car. No mullet! Great editing.
Ok pal
Just epic. Love those roads, grew up around there... Have had my Mr2 a year now... currently scanning the bay for a K20. Go carefully, Dude. Would love to see this go round the TT course!
I really want a Roadster now 😂
man they've really been growing on me for the last six months!
Collab!
Would like to see John in Mexico doing some duggits in this 😆
+MONKY LONDON highly recommended! Ever skidded a MR before? They're spicy bois. Always always always fish tails in the wet 😂
Monky!! I have an MR2 Spyder with a 2zzge, these cars with more power are brilliant.
Love the sound of that K20 👌 did that road a few weeks ago in my Mini GP1 😃

Hope you turned left just a bit after where you were and headed to Settle. That’s the best road of them all.
Tom Definitely agree!
+JackPayne91 of course! 👍
Fair play to Seb for lending it to you knowing it was going to get a work out 😉. In all fairness that's what it is built for 👍.

I caught myself smiling some moment on the video, and i totally know why..You my friend just earned a sub!
nice one mate! please keep creating and releasing content as frequently as possible - your never boring to watch and it's always a laugh and relatable/chilled, whatever the subject.
Smashing film Danny. Gotta love a nicely sorted car mate. Just took mine out for a blast. Out one way & back another. Great fun in the dark. Drive safe, enjoy speed 👍🏻
Thanks for another great video! please buy this thing if it ever comes up, I'd love to see the progress videos!
The car that brought me to you. Still enjoy this car. I’ll build a k20 MR on my next MR.
Can tell you really enjoyed driving the car, it comes through in the video :)
Great video as always Dan
Lots of chopping ✂. Like it.
VTEC complacent sheep?! only in Yorkshire... Great watch as always Danny, really the realest realist on my sub list, keep it going man.
The best line I've heard since watching anything related to cars on youtube 11:36
Man that car seems like a lot of fun. They say mid engine is supposed to be the best. Perfect motor for that chassis. Ultimate driving machine isn't that bmw's moto. Really cool you got to drive something like that for a rental. Dude built a good car.
I too prefer front mid-engine.
I want one! Always liked them but never had a place for one. Maybe the next track toy, who knows. Great review, your'e good at this.
Swear you’ve made every want a MRS 😂😂 k20 everything
+Conor Robinson pretty much. I try not to be a yes man like other RUclipsrs but I'm always honest! It's not perfect but it's top fun.
Nice video mate!! Get that Dc2 built first , looking forward to seeing it getting sorted!
Just watched this vid after catching up on some ones I missed and didn’t realise you went up to ribblehead. I live in settle 😂 shame I didn’t see ya
Nice vid mate. Nice to have an interesting and different car on the channel👍
Hurry up with the Good car stickers! I've been waiting so long!
the opening was sick dan. Class vid as usual.
+LowRezz 👍
Pleased you eventually found my favourite roads!!!....Hawes and all tributary roads around it are incredible (but test any 'track car' stiff suspension).
+William Oakes yep, great roads mate. This is my 3rd time down there since you mentioned it 😁
DannyDC2 IMO as great as the MRS drives I suspect the m3 will work much better on these roads - with more predictable handling and great stock suspension...
Love it round there. Go up a couple times a year to visit family in Wensleydale.
I just picked up one of these. I plan on doing a k20 swap as well!
You knows its a dannydc2 vid when you always watch till the end.
Yesss boiii..... up hawes, its only 20 minutes upt road from me, some right roads up between me and there!!!
Reminds me of my black s2000 with black/red interior when I drive in the country.
That thumbnail
Should of held on to it. It’s going to be rare and hard to find soon.
After all the overtakes in your intro when you said 'Let's go for a drive' I thought there was going to be more action, but you had the camera pointing round the wrong way 😂
+ProPiers haha lol

loving the consumer advice on the cobra seat Dan 😂 quality video as always bud.

Awesome vid bud you should get one , he'll buy his at some point 🍺
Love that car specially with this swap
how do you only have 30k subs.. every video is class
I have a feeling I’ll get a lot of hate, but I’m going to give my two cents anyway! Roy Anderson cheers pal, I actually said this to my pal after giving the MR2 back, I've always liked Caymans too.
Another great video Danny. 👍🏻
+Ryan Cunningham 👏

I'd love to see a vid or two on an Elise with K-swap if you can blag a loan of one.
I reckon the harnesses were taken from one of those backpacks Danny👀
Any idea where to get that roll bar from? Had a look, can't seem to find anything except the "style bar", which everyone stresses is NOT a roll bar!
4:77 Zombies in north Yorkshire confirmed!
Nice video once again Dan. As I live in Cornwall, maybe you could do a bit of a video telling us about some of the good roads in your area?

Please look up Maidstone Motorsports supercharged k20 MGTF.. And any k swapped mx5s on the UK?
Michael Peebs Blackcatmotorsport are building one at the mo.
Were the tires on this car staggered? Usually MR2s being twitchy is a square tire setup.
When I seen the thumbnail I thought you were at culloden viaduct just outside Inverness.. way way north
+TheHK2127 haha not that far north! Scotland trip is on the cards though!
You got the toyota bug now, next sw20 turbo, celica gt4, starlet gt , ae86,...yumm yumm...
Not at all, I'm just a K20 fan! K20 powered AE86 would be lovely though.
Well since you have the #goodcar back I still vote the M3 become a track car 👍🏼🤙🏼 lol
That car clearly put a wry grin on yer face.....I can see why 😜
Great vid btw👍
+Ian Barford it sure did! 😁
oof, some risky passing maneuvers there m8..or does it just seem like that from the camera angle
+Doderio Larkisso just seems it cos of the wide angle I think
Just bought an mr2 also !!! looking for colis for it cuz the shocks are blown in it... would you recommend BC that u have on m3?
Like your videos. They seem somehow honest, or i dont know how else to put it.
This MR might be pretty cool from what you are saying. Not my thing, but that engine might change that. However i would like to know your opinion.

Yes 😂😂😂 ep3 smoking past. Well in
Interesting car!
"We need to make brakes great again" hahahaah am dead
You wana try my 4pot megane 225 brembos on high carbon discs with good pads on my stripped out 172.. 😂😂 when hot there silly sharp!! You can't beat epic brakes, I can't stress that to people enough 😂😂 most don't listen, but when they experience it, its a different matter! 😎 K20 mrs is epic love it!!
Do you know what front lip and spoiler were on this beaut?
What size rims and tires were these?
Which Momo steering wheel is that?
Danny, when is the next upload?
What’s that air freshener?
Sauce bottle air freshener/ G-Force indicator 👌🏻
+Christian Bethell /product placement 👀😂
Very nice zzw, my brother is looking into a k swap. One question though, How did you get the seat to sit so low?
aftermarket set rail :) I'm not sure on the brand, but you can make your own using the OEM rails. I did this for the passenger seat.
Thanks, he's using a planted base bracket and side mounts and it sits higher then stock. Trying to find a mounding solution to get it lower.
I really want to buy this....let me know if ever selling!
Test drive the i30n when it comes out be a good review from u
keith O S what's that?
if you ever want to try a track orientated rwd turbo volvo estate let me know and i'll lend you mine after winter once its working again
same rules as this mrs loan drive how you like (trash it) as much as you like and feel free to take it on a track day if you want
Sounds risky if it's already broke 😂 maybe in the future dude
i'm thinking later in 2018 once i know it's reliable and got a proper lsd
hey danny, the ECU ur talking about is it the stock mr2 ECU or stock k20 one?
robin ladenowns pretty sure car can’t work with factory mr2 ecu
So I own a mx5 and 350z I live near hawes and drive these kind of roads all the time the 350 is to big really cant decide if I should get a mr2 mk3 or build the perfect itb mx5 ... didnt like my mk2 mr2 wasnt chuckable
Jamie Stuart mx5 :)
+Jamie Stuart Kmiata then let me have a go 🤣
DannyDC2 kswap the world .... you do buttertubs run ?
"the sheep are not bothered by the VTEC at all"........ lmao
What do you recommend for under 1k to have a bit of fun in and be okay to work on
+Josh Anderson Saxo VTS
or clio 182/172
+LiamzMedia yeah fair one, good Clios seem to be 2k+ though. I'm keeping my eye out for one at the moment for a friend.
if the engine in this is from a UKDM EP3 then VTEC is at 5800
+Oscar Thorpe not low enough! That coupled with the OEM rev limit..
This thing looks like a death trap.
ayowser01 Spot on... in the wrong hands, but Danny's pretty good, I'd rather put that K20 in a Miata, loads of mx5 swaps in d states work pretty good.
Inb4 next episode: I BOUGHT AN MR-S 😂
+TRJ nahhh, that won't happen for a while! It was fun but I I'm happy with what I've got for now. Cool car for sure though.
:^)
@DannyDC2 Whats the name of that road?
Its the B6255 or Blea Moor Road if ya want the old name. from Hawes to ribblehead viaduct in north Yorkshire. About 10 miles of biker madness, or if ya lucky, and get a clear run in a car its beautiful to drive and just to look at! Views are awesome, glad to live a few miles down the road!!!
+Adam Green that's the ticket! Cheers Adam 👏
7:32 VTEC face
Danny Have you watched Adam Ivell latest vlog at mondello park for some ideas for the Dc2 the sound of a k20 with ITbs 😬
Craig b Valeting yeah watched it, like the sound of course but there's better things to be spending on.
When are you K swapping your M3?
AR 97 I'd love to stick a K24 turbo in the E36 👀 shame real life isn't like Forza 😪
Jealous of your roads fucking hate London, brilliant video I keep it up👍 The sheep are not bothered by the vetec at all 😂😂😂
Would you daily it???
+thedjse would I fuck
Cool car D
Danny what did you think of the EP3 premier edition seat? I've been thinking about doing a swap in my del sol
They're comfortable for sure
Damn mr2 swap on a nurburgring is something id want to see in the right hands :) shame
NOt the right hands, but here's my 2zz swap: ruclips.net/video/0uxGDw9Ud3c/видео.html There are some better laps from my visit this year with upgraded suspension on the channel too.
Wicked car
Still think your red k swapped eg was the best k swap car
